Hi, I'm Ulma brother Brimm Keck Glen Zika Dely. And I'm your dmm Ethan, welcome to Venture Forth. Previously you all had made your way to Sun Plume in order to find out more about Alma's heritage and her family. And upon arriving, you all followed a trail of breadcrumbs into the forest where you found the remnants of Alma's Family turned to glass after a short ritual. Keli released them into the afterlife. But upon finding the bodies, Flynn also had found some clues to the next step in the investigation, which led you all to a small cottage back in the town of Sun Plume. You all arrived and looked around the house and through some careful investigation with some magic items, with Oma, you're able to find a secret room Within this small cottage house through possessions and belongings, OMA activated the housekeeper named Keeper, who then let everyone into this library, this sort of sanctum within the House of Alma's family. Information was divulged, journals were read, ick went through a sort of family history, these portraits that were drawn into a book. And at the same time, Ulma was taken through a journey of memories of her great-grandmother. Information was revealed, lots was told, and it was found out that Oma is a descendant of the Red Wolf. As this information has come to light, as you all continue discussing, you are all located still within the basement. What would you all like to do? So let's just put our heads together here. I think we need to make some decisions about what to do next. I'll just flip to the picture in the book that I have of the Red wolf and lay it sort of somberly on the floor between everybody and just give it not quite reverence, I dunno how to describe it, the disgusted contempt it deserves and noted. I think we can say especially certainly that Alma's descendant of the Red Wolf and well that's good to know. Doesn't change much of our course of action, I suppose, but it does. It makes me grateful that we frankly are still in your company. Yeah. There've been many times that it's been brought up that you're so young to be out on the road with us like this, but I didn't know where you were right now. Finding this out. I would really want to. Yeah, there was so much the memory. Crystal had a lot of stuff. I still need to process it, but it seemed like Alexandra had some training before the ceremony happened. I don't know what is important from what I learned, so maybe I should just tell you everything so that you can help me figure out what's important and what isn't important. Yeah. Small detail. Good. I think we all learned. Okay. We're here to help. There's so much so I don't know if we'll get it all right, but I'll try. It seemed like Alexandra had a pretty good life as a kid. She seemed pretty happy and she played with her mom, but she started training with her father, the Red Wolf pretty early in combat and stuff like that. And then her mom had a baby and that was a baby sister. And then she didn't see her mom anymore, but she kept training. And then when she was a little bit older than me, her father was talking to, what's her name? Eck. She killed us. Oh. Oh yeah. So Artemesia was working on the magic stealing spell. To steal it from the cuts. Yeah. Which I guess she figured it out because she's done it now, but Right. But she didn't figure it out then. So the Red Wolf, he used a bunch of nags I guess, or sorcerers or wizards or clerics, I don't really know. There were so many and they all surrounded her on this pedestal and they were doing some weird crazy experiment. I dunno if it worked very well though, because Alexandra just started getting, I don't know, weaker. She's super strong. She had lots of magic, but she's just like, I don't know, maybe she didn't want to use it for what they wanted her to do. But her sister, her dad was getting advised by Corvin Amber Stone, but he didn't look like he looked like the red wolf. He didn't look like he looks now though. He looked normal and yeah. Well. Then her dad told Corvin to kill her. Oh. What? So she ran, but Corvin came after her and then she killed, why would he do that? But he's dead. He's not dead. What? She didn't want to use his magic, the power that was given to her stolen from. That's kind of what it seemed like. And then her dad was like, well good thing we have a second, try second with her sister older. And I'll flip to the page with the other daughter on it. Her sister and then her sister became the fallen storm and then destroyed the whole world kind of. Well, not the whole world but the part of the waist. Yeah. She. Destroyed primordial. I. So that capability, that. Power. Sort of what you also. Use, am I. Getting that? Am I getting that right? I don't know. Because they're your lineage. I give Bele a cautionary wide-eyed book. But I didn't steal it. They didn't do the, it's not like they did the experiment or the ceremony on me. I just Right. Was born and I just got it. So I mean, I don't know if it's exactly the same or. It can't be exactly the same. But. I suppose it may not be, but it might be. It is a lot. The red wolves were after Alexandra, but she had it from the source. Right. But Brother Brim, what's your estimation? Is it the same, you're tracking this magic with your little device? Is it just a signature or is it the amount, greatness of the power that is triggering your sensor as it were? I've just been listening very carefully to everything and when Keck addresses me both, even those of us who have been at the Temple for a long time haven't seen anything like this in well in living memory for the most part. So it is the strength of Alma's magic as well as its resemblance to, or its ties to Laris as well. But how long ago did all this happen? What do you mean? Did all what happened? Your great great grandmother, am I understanding that right? Thanks. She's super, super old. So keeper, didn't you say? And I turned to keeper her keeper. Didn't you say you've been with her for hundreds and hundreds of. Years, centuries? That is. Correct. No, not centuries. Centuries. Centuries. I believe centuries. A thousand years. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I meant. Hundreds and hundreds. Those are centuries. Many. Hundreds. Yeah. Hundreds of years is centuries I guess. Sorry. Whoops. It's all right on that. You said at least 700, right? Right about there? Yes. And that was after she left. So I mean when was primordial destroyed, because that's probably the better. Look a thousand years ago. I'll go into my back, my back and I'll take out the tragedy of the loss and try and hey, see where we can correlate these things. Absolutely. That book, lemme just pull up my timeline real quick and I'm going to give you an exact date here. Okay. In the meantime, I'm keeping eyes on Brimm to see if he's looking at Oma. She's more than just an interesting magical tracking thing. I'm doing the same thing. I haven't stopped. Okay, so we'll do from the two of you, an insight check against your deception or persuasion. You don't have to tell everyone you are rolling. Drop. The desk. Just do it right. Drop it. I think you can do whatever you want. Do it your way. First. Roll in a dice trip. A new dice trip. First we. Music. Wait, wait. While we're doing that, to answer EK's question, the tragedy of the loss was written in 13 964 and it chronicles the loss, which happened in 13,000 950 13. 950. Was the actual event of the loss that the tragedy of the loss chronicles it as. Okay. Also remember as you're flipping. Through, say again, what was the first date? Oh, okay, so the loss happened in 13 950. That's when. The event was happened and the tragedy of the loss was written in 13,964, so about 14 years later, and then as you're flipping through, you also remember reading through the tragedy of the loss. It is sort of a secondhand account and so it's give or take maybe a couple months, but you get that's pretty accurate. Okay. And what year is it now? The year is currently. I mean I. Know got to scroll. All the way over. 65, 14 8 3 1 64 64. It's. The writing. Of the book. 50 and 64 30 is 14, 8 31 14 almost, almost could hear the. Hollowness. 14, 8 32, almost 14, 8 32, 2 days. Away. Oh. Two days away from the new year, but yes, that's hilarious. Okay. About a thousand, yeah, almost. Or close to a thousand years ago. Probably a little over 900 years. So if I'm doing my math rate keeper, you weren't turned on or whatever until 300 years after the loss. The storm. When I was activated, the waste was. As it. Was. Yeah. Sorry, there is a lot. What are we trying to find out again? Well, we just need to decide to decide what to do next. Well, we need to get more answers. Maybe I'll look to Alma and I'll look at that. You wearing the necklace still I'll look to the necklace and maybe get that fixed too, depending on who's looking for you. According to Alexandra, the baby was born and she took it up to the mountain and then when she came back she didn't have the necklace anymore and then it was just a couple of days before the cult or the order of the Red Wolf found. So I don't know if they have something like what you have, but you found me pretty quickly, so we might want to get it fixed. Can the monastery help? I think so. I've been thinking, how did Alexandra know to bring you to the monastery in the first place? Why there? I don't know. How am I supposed to know? Was it just the closest place of. The monastery is hard to get to it's days into the woods, right? Why not drop her off this somewhere else? Somewhere less remote, less in the middle of nowhere. Maybe. She knew the source of her power. Keep her. Did Alexandra ever go to the monastery in the years that you knew her? I mean, was she a regular attendee? Not. That I'm specifically aware of the monastery. I know she would take frequent trips and leave here usually no more than a week, but I was never one to pry into exactly where she was going and she was relatively secret, secretive with her information. It would be quite the coincidence that your order so closely affiliated with Laris and Alma is Well. That's. Just it also. No. If Alexandra has the same magic as you, this is all, it all has to go back to the monastery. She ran away our orders that stood for thousands of years. The order of the ever seeing was alive and well during Alexandra's time and I walk over a little bit and I look at the necklace on Oma and I think there's something about this necklace, the craftsmanship, it's familiar. I've seen something like it before in fact, and I'll hold up the device that I have and. The. Quality of the craftsmanship and elements of it kind of resemble one another. I think just maybe members of my order found Alexandra sometime. That's would make a lot of sense. Because if I found you, it stands to think that they would've found her right? Yes. Possible. And was she good? I don't know that any of us could answer. It's an absurd. Question at this point, if she wasn't, then your order would've taken her out. Isn't that what you do? Yes. So they wouldn't have helped her if she was bad. Well, what did they know? Did Alexandra just leave the baby? Because that was also because if they. The baby didn't come till Oma. Yeah, they probably found her before that. With the device that you have. It made. You probably knew that bad. I mean Alexandra first fled outside of the protection of her father. Almost a thousand years ago, you're saying right then and then waited a long time until about 13 years ago when Ulma was born and then came back. That's what you're sort of speculating. I think that maybe in order for Alexandra to keep Oma safe, she took her to the one place that she knew she would be safe because she was safe there sometime in the past. Well, it seems like this is all speculation and the only way to know would be to go. And. Yeah, probably go quickly. Too. There one person at the temple who might've been alive during that time. Oh. Still not this Abbot who hasn't departed? No. Elder Thorn. She's unique. Well, if anything, there's probably documents that we can maybe access with. You. A temple does keep good records. And I almost guarantee that there are some redwoods there as well. It's given to. Are we going to be safe or is she going to be safe there? Am I safe anywhere? No. It's better than to find. But safer knowing what we're walking into. Right? Monastery is well protected. I'm no slouch, but there's far more powerful individuals than me there. Right? If it's stood for thousands of years. No guarantee that most people more powerful than you aren't also part of this order. That's what we've been given to understand is that they've infiltrated everywhere. If there's any, just so. We're prepared, that's. All that they can fix the. I think it's a risk worth taking. Maybe we go and scout it some way without showing Oma, but we should go quickly. They're probably coming. Alma has her hood. Right? If you cloak. That won't stop them if he Oh. Alma is shown. I think it's worth every caution we can take, but we cannot make the mistake of thinking that Alma is hidden Now. His device found her when we tracked Grim, he was able to tell that she was there with his device. So do we just go in without trying to hide Alma? Just to show good faith. Alma's known to the monastery. There's no reason to hide her from anyone there. They don't. Necessarily know that I'm the same person they're looking for. Well, I didn't. You do know now and what are your thoughts on that? The directive of the order the ever sing for as long as it's been here is to protect the world from people like the Red Wolf who would use Lars as magic for their own ends. I can't really say Oma. You seem perfectly fine and you all seem, from what I can tell to be in this for the right reasons, try to be. I don't want to have someone else's magic inside of me. But what do you mean? Well, there's nothing I can do about it now, but it's not like I took it. No, you didn't. You didn't take it. I didn't do anything. Nope. Not at all. How do you feel about going back to the monastery? Well, it seems like we don't have a lot of choices here. I think you have two choices. Get necklace fixed or don't get necklace fixed. It's true, it's not much, but I want you to make the choice for yourself. Yeah, let's. Go. I want to go. I just want to make sure you're ready. Well, I'm not ready. I don't want to be there, but I have to get my necklace fixed. I don't want to be tracked down. If they come, we will fight them. Yeah, without a doubt. We will. Fight them. There's no question. It's just a matter as to when. Once we get more answers. And if push comes to shove, we have a dragon. That's true. Yeah. Not only a dragon adjust my. Hat. It's a metaphor. He likes to. Make funny. Course. When. Kayla gets really excited. Hi, deception from Tely and Insight from. Can Can I help? Can you. Help me? He fights like a dragon. Yeah. That's what I wanted. That's his nickname. What was yours? The blue dragon. 2125. Oh wow. Could definitely. Be a metaphor. Seems like maybe an inside joke of some sort. I accept it. Yeah, I just. He's funny like that. Well he thinks he's funny. I am funny. Alright. Brilliant. Will you lead us? What's the safest road? Of course I can get you there. All right. It's a few days to travel through the woods. It seems that that's. Our path. Then. You say few days. Should we try to travel as quickly as possible? Could you have something in mind? I mean, can we go via, can we take Stacey? Can. We go Stacy, I don't know if Stacey. Can go through that. Would Stacey. Is my. Ward. I just shake my head. You're. Strange. All of you? Yes. She's an elk. She's a very large elk. Oh. Are the large paths very cut? Yes. That's my question. She's probably good in the woods, but I don't know about the cut. The woods are dense and. Although. Dmm, there would probably be, I mean we would have to get No, it's pretty much a self-sustaining community. So anything, any, yeah, no, there's no, sorry, I'm working it out my head. The monastery is relatively self-sustaining. There's no need for carts or anything like that. The only paths are those traveled by us and the wildlife and those are mostly walking paths. Narrow and twisting. It's probably safer town too. You think? I think Stacey is, yeah. Okay. Well can I get a bag of feed or something before we go? I feel like I need to feed her if we're going to be gone for a while. Right. Makes sense. Was there a place that we can drop her off so someone can take care of her? Maybe. I was given very directions to take Stacey on my journey and then bring her back or so be the end of me. Yeah, I mean we've been told we were going to be killed a lot before and we've been all right. Oh, I don't. Think he could if he wanted to. He couldn't even, couldn't even tie my wrists when he tried. So he tried to. Play. He did. It was kind of funny. You did not punch him. No, he seemed really concerned about the elk, but if he had tried again, I would've hauled off and hit him. I appreciate your restraint. But I would rather return her in one piece. So let's just get her some feed and you're right, I think we'll just leave her where she is. If. We probably shouldn't be seen. If we're gone for too long then he'll come get her. Right? He can find her. He. Said he can't find her. Where did we leave her? She tied. By the right outside the. We probably. That's the second thing is do we want to lock this place down or destroy evidence and not make it seem like someone's here? Maybe move Stacey somewhere else. You'll not be destroying. A single inch of this house. We're not trying to destroy. Anything. Hide it. A keeper will to keep it safe. Right? It's already been rummaged through on the outside, so I'm more than capable of keeping this house. Safe and nothing. Can remove all the oxygen or whatever it was. Was. Yeah. Keeper can. You can't get in this room unless you know how to. Find it. I just want to make sure that they don't get here and act. You're. Not going to get here. It. Happened for hundreds of years. It specifically took Ulma to find this place. A lot of things are coming to light that we didn't know. So it's true. Unless you tell someone through your head. I'm not going to tell anyone. Then. I can put, if it make you feel better, I can put kind of a perimeter, a bit of an alarm. Sure. I mean if it's loud, I don't know about all of you, but I've been trying to keep to a somewhat regular schedule during the Long Eve, so it is really late for me right now. Are you. Sleepy? A little and still a little banged up from you yelling at me earlier. No, I'm sorry. In order to demonstrate if whoever Stacey is in order to demonstrate that I would be able to keep them safe, if you all are feeling weary for the night, I would be able to keep you all safe here. And then if you would like to bring Stacey over as a single night demonstration of my protective abilities, we can arrange something such as a rescue. For you. We didn't even think about that. Stacey fit. In here and I'll look at the walls and the ceilings and the doors. So Stacey's not a person? No. No. Stacey's an elk. I could figure something out. I. Really. Yes, maybe in That's top of the house. She doesn't have to come down here in. For the front door. I can get something arranged and in the meantime make sure you are all safe. I would have to go and explore the kitchen. I don't know the state of the food here, so I don't know much about food, but as far as a good place to rest, I feel like this would be the most secure as you can possibly get. Okay, I trust you. Thank you. Yeah. Do you want to go get Stacey? I will Go get Stacey. Yes, I believe you a peacekeeper. I will come with me. Thank you so much. Yes. Anything else I can do for you in the meantime, please feel free to ask. I do not sleep, I do not eat. I cannot be swayed by the charms of men. So if you need anything just lemme know. Thank you. Keeper. I point over a caic. That one likes mushroom soup. I will. We all do. It's. Alright. I will go into the yard and see what I can find. In bread. Maybe. I will. This. House has not been open for 13 years. Flynn. This is not the void. Okay. Magic is not stop being so needy. Magic does not solve every single problem. It wasn't most. We've seen a much that. A. Lot. Of problems too. I will do my best to the extent of what I can do. As for comforts for the night. Each of the rooms are open to you. Find what beds and what comforts you may I am afraid in this room in particular, there's nothing too comfortable to lay down on, but I do assure you that the entire home itself will be very safe under my watch. Thank you keeper. Much havers here. Can't be worse than the caves we've been in. Yeah, right? Yeah. Also, as a point of pride, I have kept this house safe for well over 700 years and I do not plan on letting it fall the night that you all get here. I know that. Thank you. So if both of you would like to take your leave, I will begin to get preparations ready. Let's go on seeker. I'm going to search for Clara's room. Okay, you search room by room, you go in one creaking door after another. It all seems pretty cleared out. So I'm going to have you make an investigation check. 17. 17, okay. As you're searching room to room, it seems that this house has been pretty well scavenged. It's it's really down to the basics. Even on some of the windows, some of the framing has been pulled down. It's really bare bones and as you go through, you're looking and you're getting frustrated. You can't find anything that would delineate who's room is who's. And then the last room you look in, same thing, nothing. You get frustrated, you walk over to this broken down chair in the corner, plop yourself down and just as you do the chair beneath you completely collapses and breaks out one of the bolt that goes through one of the legs just completely with the rust shatters and you fall down. Yes. But as you fall down, you look over and the leg that shot out, there's just a little engraving on it probably from a young girl a very long time ago that says Clara. I'm going to hold onto that. That's the land seeker. You both leave the house. On the way there, I'm going to be looking for a place that sells feed so I can get a sort of a situation where it ties onto Stacey's a harness so she can eat while I can tie it to her mouth sort of a thing. If you know how livestock have that sometimes. Yeah, I'm. For that. Okay. As you were walking through the town, and as you remember, your schedule is sort of flipped even within the Long Eve. It's tough to keep track of in your head, but you do recall that your schedule is sort of flipped. So you are coming upon the end of your day. It is just about to be very early morning. You have, as you're looking around, a couple of options, you can start searching for something. You can wait a little bit until maybe some shops open up. The speaker. Yes. What do you say my name like that? Well, because I'm going to ask you to maybe do something. Yeah. Yes. I'm going to ask for a quick favor. So you know how you're really good at stealing things. I do know this. Yes. You're really good at it. I couldn't even try, couldn't even compete. Why are you saying it like this? Because I'm complimenting you. Oh, you wanted me to steal something? Yes. I thought we were talking about how I should not do that anymore. Who said that? I don't remember. Was it me? I was wrong. What is happening right now? Would you please steal some feed for Stacey? Okay, let's find some feed then I would take some, but I will put money in the place of the. However you feel is appropriate. I'm an agent now. Oh, so every time we steal something, are we going to start leaving money? Unless they're bad people. How do we Okay that. Well, they're trying to kill us. I just assume they're bad. You're. Going to pick their pocket while they're trying to kill us. Or when they're dead. Or when they're dead. Excellent. Well I don't think that's called for here, but it's good to know your morals have. Shifted. Oh actually I think I spent all of my money on Stacey. So if I could have maybe a gold piece or some silver. You spent. All your money on. Stacy, Stacey just about Pretty much. Oh. My goodness. It was an expensive stack. No, I understand. But I wish you, I didn't know that was happening here. And I give secret 20 gold. That's more than I need, but okay. You should have something in your pocket though. True. What if we get separated? I. Want some bread. Can food. So many situations can rise. Be on the streets without that, but that can. So I give secret 20 gold. Thank you. Okay. And Devin, I also just sent you a message. If you take a look real quick. Oh, as the gold transfer is happening. And I will look for a feed store supply shop. Okay. I'm going to have you make an investigation check as town. Roll two is any better than roll one was. Hey. Oh yeah, it's a lot better. It's a 19 on the dice and then it's like. Yeah. Yeah. Dacy gets good eats. That's a 25. Nice. Heck. Yeah. Nice. Investigated the shit out of that. Truly. Okay. You did as you were walking down the street, you are looking back and forth and you definitely know that you are in sort of the commerce area of the town. You're looking and you're not seeing residential anymore. And you see that there is this one street that extends for maybe one or three blocks and you can see these big glass windows all on the front. And each one of them has signs of, there's a restaurant off to your left, there is a general supply store off to your right. And as you're walking down the street about halfway down, you look over and you see this beautiful painted image of a horse on the glass itself. Very meticulously painted. Obviously done by a very talented artist. And it's almost like made this mural into the glass on the front. And you see the sign up above it says stallion stead. And you see it looks to be a general animal feed, animal care store. This look at this artwork. It's. Very. Pretty. It's very nice on glass. That's hard. To do. I think they might have stuff. There's a picture of a horse, so I'm going to assume horses and et cetera. I want to scope this place out. I would prefer not to go in the front door if I can help. Is there a alleyway or back. With that investigation check As you're looking around, you see that there is a front entrance, there is a side entrance, there is a back entrance as well as a pretty sizable chimney up top. And also on the other side, there's not an entrance doorway there, but there is sort of this, it's almost like this building is a story and a half. It doesn't have a full second story, but there is what could possibly be storage rooms up top that you see a window that maybe leads into those storage areas. Want to boost? Kind of like the door in the back. Alright. I'll keep an eye out though. Use here. Okay. Distract people. If they start to wake up. I distract them. Or. If someone's coming. Okay. That. I can do. I'll try and I want to go in the back, I want to check the door, see if there's anything that is obviously an alarm of some sort and if not, I would like to try and pick. It. Okay. I'm going to have you make an investigation check. 15. 15. Nope. 12. 12. Okay. Six. Nine. Nine. And important distinction as you're looking around, it seems to be a pretty simple shop besides what could only be described as a very basic lock, there doesn't seem to be any alarm systems set up. Alright, I'm going in. Okay, make a slight of handshake. Try and break that one. We go. It's a man. I'm my best. It's a 16. A. 16. But still good enough as you are turning the gears and as you're fiddling with this lock, it does seem like a very basic, just keeps commoners out. I'm a little annoyed that it's taking so long I'm better than this. What's happening. What's tricking you up is almost, its simplicity. You're so used to picking these really into I'm so expert. But then you have to sort of go back to your basics. You open it up and as you open it up you do see that there is sort of this back room area that has a couple of different barrels filled with stuff. And then just off to the right you do see a ladder that goes up into on the ceiling, this latch. I will follow that up. Okay, open. The latch. You open up the latch, it swings right open. There is no lock on this. And up above you see a pretty small crawlspace that is filled with barrels and crates. One. And then do I see the window that leads out to the front where that's just. On the opposite. You can see just that there's some very dimm light because it is snowing outside still. You can just see some of the dimm light from outside coming in. I want to walk through if any of the barrels or crates are labeled like feed or food or anything of that nature, I will open them and if I don't see that, I'm going to keep walking towards the window and look for bags or. Whatever it be. Okay, you look and on your left and right, there's sort of this walking path in between the barrels. It's been set up pretty well so that you have different areas for different types of storage and as you're looking through, you don't see names labeled. You see almost like these brands that are seared into the wood and each one looks like the image of a different animal in a very similar sort of hyper artistic style as the mural out front. But they do still delineate. You see that there is horse feed. You see that there is stuff for mules dogs, you see things ranging from house cats all the way to working animals. But as you come through, what is probably closest is the horse feed. Giant. Spider feed. Giant spider feed. Nothing. How heavy are these barrels? I try and move on. Shift it. It is. How big is a barrel? Not so heavy. How heavy is a barrel of horse feed? It's pretty heavy. You feel like you would be able to maybe rock it back and forth? You're looking at it. The top of the barrel, there's no secure lock on it. You could probably pry it open or you can roll it. Do I see. Far as lifting it or anything? Yeah, actually in the beginning you see a couple of these burlap sacks probably for smaller portions that are divvied out to customers. Okay. Yeah. So in that case then I will go grab a couple of two bags and pop open the barrel and fill 'em up. Easy enough. And as you pop open the barrel, you do see that there's this big metal spoon in order to sort of sift out the feed, make it easy so you don't spill any of this stuff as you get two fullbacks. And then I will place the top back on and I will just take out a sheet of paper and just write, need that food you want to open? Sorry. And I'll put it down and put two gold pieces on the top of the barrel. Alright. And then easy enough, you sneak back out and with your previous slide of hand roll if you want to, the lock is in well enough condition. You didn't break the thing, it's in well enough condition. If you wanted to lock it back up you could or you can leave it open. It's up to you. I'll re-lock it. Okay. You re-lock it, you head back out to the icily. A week from now that shop owner's going to open that barrel. You're going to make his rent for like a month. Like what the hell? We're going. On vacation. We're rich. Alright. I was just keeping watch. I don't know if anything it's like 3:00 AM So. Yeah, as you are keeping watch, I'm going to have you make a perception check. Oh. I'm skilled. That's a 19. 19. Yeah. You're looking around. Yeah, it's probably close to three or 4:00 AM No one is up. You don't even really see guards out and around. It's really sort of this quiet. You can almost hear the snow falling onto the ground and then a couple minutes before secret gets back, you just see from across town a bird fly up and away. From across town. Yeah, it is probably a couple of blocks over. Does it look like the bird that was pointed out before? Is it a similar, I don't think you saw that bird. I didn't see that. That you. Did not. See that. That was just secret. Okay, nevermind. But even so, you cannot tell what kind of bird it is. The snow is just sort of covering it. It's just you have not seen since the long you've started, you have not seen any birds take flight. So you do just clock this as peculiar. Reminds me of Alger. But then seeker does come back out with two bags of feet. Got the food you did it. I did pay them too. Oh good. And thank you very much. Stacey's going to appreciate it. Love that preacher. She's necessary. I love is. We so much we should keep her alive. We paid so much money. So I want to keep an eye on brim. Oh were we not already doing. That? I saw you. Well yes, but just I want to say it to someone because I haven't had the chance. Alright, I mean do you want to tag team that in a sense I'll always have his back and you'll always have his, I mean I'm ready to he he's not allowed to come near. I think we should tell everyone when we get the chance. I mean I said that once before, but just my history with people close to Lars and what they'll do to take back power is I'm a bit concerned. The strange thing is I'm less worried about him. I'm much more worried about taking her into what I fear to be a pit of vipers. What if they all, he seems to have a good heart, but what if they all decide that it's too dangerous to let her live? Do you think that's something they would do? Yes. I was afraid you'd say that. Well she wants to go. I think it's the only place we're going to get answers. We do need to try. We have fights on every front at this point. We have to at least try to hide her. So you think invisibility flow. It doesn't hurt. It doesn't solve it either. But yes, we should try to. Yeah, we should try to hide her. Alright. I want to protect her no matter what it takes. No matter fight them all. Well fight our way out. We've got a dragon. Although I was bit can stand when I was tracking Brent. I lost him. I don't lose many people. You lost him? Yes. When did you lose him? We were in an alley and he jumped down. He got away from me. It was pretty impressive. It. Alright. I will never say that to him. You won't tell him it's impressive or you won't tell him you lost him or both? I think he knows I lost him, but I won't tell him that this was a good job. Well if you lose him I'll find him. Perfect. There we go. All right, let's go feed Stacey. So you head back to the in Stacey is exactly where you left her. She seems to be in good spirits. Maybe a little bit cold just from the snow, but even that doesn't really seem to bother easy enough. Grab Stacey head back over to the house. By the time you get back to the house, you see keeper standing outside and you see that he has taken a couple of these large beams that were sort of decorative on the outside of the house. And he has at this point constructed a small pen in the backyard and is at this point sort of tying some what looks like this, almost like mesh chicken wire around it in order to make this very makeshift stable. Keeper. Did you do all this? And he turns around and Yes I did. I'm sorry. Stacey's bigger than I thought. Give me one moment and I'm going to expand over this. Way. I'm so. Sorry. No, I just need to pull the beams out of the ground. It's totally fine. No, no, you don't want that? No, I can do it if you want to head back inside. It should be warmer in there. Stacey, with you here? Yes. If you just want to tie her up right there, I can then yes, lead her back. In and then there's she's got one, but then I have a second bag of feed and I think we'll be gone for a while. So if you could just sort of parse it out. I don't want, I'm afraid I think she might overeat and I look to Stacey who despite what the dragon born told me, I don't think is a super intelligent. All evidence has pointed to Stacey being no smarter than the average staff. Perhaps even a little bit less. Regular ass. Maybe basic. I don't think we thought she was. No. I think she might be of the persuasion that if I allowed her she would sort of eat too much. So just sort of. I will parse it out. Thank you. Stacey will not go hungry under my watch. You are amazing. Thank you. Okay Stacey, if you can just, Nope. Step this way. Stacey. Stacey step this way. As you. Both head inside genius. As you both step inside, you immediately notice something that the rest of the party has noticed over the time that they have left, which is the temperature within the house is slowly starting to rise, just sort of generally into this comfortable warmth that previously it was cold, it was left unattended. But over the course of these last few minutes, it has gone up in temperature enough for it to be comfortable within here. And as you all are getting ready to take part in a long rest, what would you all like to do? Could we. Backtrack while they were gone? Yeah. I'm just going to walk over to Oma and might be kind of a dumb question, but are you all right? What do you mean? I feel like a lot of things have happened for you in the last couple hours. Are you doing okay with stuff? I'm not good at this, but. Define, okay. Would you be okay? My face kind of falls at that. No. Yeah, it seems like a pretty stupid question to me. Fire, go for damage. Cold. Tell you what, well obviously I'm not good at this, but there's one thing I'm good at and I will lick the device into my hand. You want to learn how to use this? Define myself. Maybe find someone else like you at some point. Sure. Whatever. Under my breath. Just start somewhere and yeah, I'll just sit down on the floor. And do you remember much about what happened at the or what they taught you at the monastery? Yeah. Alright. How about I just show you first and I'll just sort of put it on the ground. I'll put my hand on it and I'll take a few deep breaths and you see coming off of me when you see a mirage that kind of shimmer, it starts to wave off of me as I'll spend a key point and activate the device. Oh. I don't have that. I can't meditate. Why is it always meditation? I'll peak an eye open. You. I'm so bad at it. We're. All bad at it to start. You guess. I sucked at it for a long time. From everything I heard you were actually a lot better at it than most of us. But that it wasn't actually meditation and finding my key inside myself. Yeah. I never liked the platitudes either. I had to learn a little different. How did you learn? I got angry a lot. A lot. You too. From what I heard. I don't know. I kind of had to figure out that it was just part of me stop fighting it so much. But how do you know that you're good then. I'll open up, there's like a gourd kind of thing on my hip and I'll open it up and I'll kind of wave my hand over it and I'll pull out this kind of little stream of water and I'll use shape water to. Twist of the night there. He doesn't know. He doesn't know. He doesn't know. He didn't know what he. Let's try so. Hard. You try this. Why aren't you doing it? I don't know. No. Yeah, he doesn't know. Doesn't know. And there'll be a little tiny humanoid in it and then in the water there's two bright pinned pricks of red, which look like my eyes. And as I'm doing this, I'll say, yeah, I used to get angry a lot grown up without fell into a bad crowd early and it'll be like the little water thing. I'll grab some more water and it'll show kind of like a little diorama, like a cart and the little figure runs up and grabs something from the cart and be like, I know. Control. Is sometimes kind of tough and then the little figure is running away, then another much bigger figure comes and grabs hold of the little one. And then at that point there's other figures start to kind of come in around it and I'll say, and losing control sometimes kind of sucks. And then all cast produce flame and all of the water just, and it all originates from the little figure with the eyes like a big kind of fireball looking thing. And people get hurt, right? But I think you're good because you never stop trying and I don't think you've stopped trying yet. I used to be able to do that with water. I can't do it anymore. Why not? Sometimes things happen. What happened? Just lost it. Maybe we can get it back. Maybe It was so fun. I could make snowballs really hard and I would throw them at Flynn and I would make little fish in my bathtubs and I would splash water on Flynn. I can't do any of that. Took me a long time to learn. But I already knew how and now I can't. Well sometimes we forget stuff. Sometimes we forget stuff. I'll splash water on her. Yay. Don't do that. Okay, show me how to use the stupid thing. Alright, I laugh and I will start teaching her how to use the device. Just begin that process. It does take a little bit of training and then also if Alma's okay with it, let her start trying to help her learn shape water again if I can. Cool. Love that sound. Alright, so you begin that process and then down in the basement, ick and Flynn, what are you two Don? I would just be trying to aggregate all of the information that I can between the books that we've been sort of looking through and just try to make sure I have wrapped my head around the chronology as well as I know there was some, was there a map that somebody found? Yes. So there was a map. I. Would be trying to just make sure I had a good understanding of all of that. Okay. Yeah. And as you're looking through the map, it does seem to be like this explorer's map that then some of the later markings on it seem to be this desperate attempt to find this teleporting island and you're sort of able to discern some of the different points that it was at until it moved and then moved back around into other places. But yeah, so you're able to. Am I able to discern a pattern in that or is the place that we saw it when we were sailing out of was out of dire hand? Yes, I believe so. And Kaldor, am I able to, is that location somewhere similar? Is that marked on this map for example? Okay, I'm going to have you make just a straight up intelligence check an island. This is check pattern recognition. Search. Actually survival. If you want to do survival. I think a survival surveillance cast of ice, that's 18. 18. As you're looking over this thing and with that role it's really tough to discern, but you think that there is almost this clockwise pattern but you get the sense that you can only get, you're only getting a piece of the information, you're only getting the beginnings of a pattern. And if that pattern does change in certain ways, it could change how you think about the pattern. It could go in different directions, things like that. But you do see one of the points is exactly where you saw it previously, but looking at it, it's probably going to take almost like deciphering code or deciphering a pattern. It's going to take some time to find out. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I'm just going to be racking my brain about that. Okay. So I would like to be kind of sitting around and this is still the area where all the information is that we found. Yeah, so I'll san over to you. Make anything of it. You can see I've got a notebook open and I'm redrawing the map and I've got an ink and quill that I'm just trying to mark up kind of different iterations, different versions of where it might appear next. This is not my craft. Maybe this is something better suited for seeker. I don't know, maybe we need to find a cartographer. But. Yeah, well. Saw this island once before I think, and I point to where it appeared where this location coincides where we saw it. I'm pretty sure we passed it on our way to spire. And if it's the same map from these descriptions. Well. And that's where the outcast is being held or where the avenue to that place is. What if we would've made it on the island? That's a very good question. And is that where we have to go now? Well, to do what? To try and kill the outcast. A thing that the gods have not killed it as of yet. Maybe. I don't know. I don't think that that's, and I look, this book is, can I find who the author is whose journal entries these are. Looking through? It's you would be able to connect the dots that this was probably a journal of the Red Wolf. Himself. Of Lord aft. Yes. And if the red wolves knew this whole time that it was on this island, well I guess they couldn't find it. The question becomes if they found this, would they need the threshold keys at all? Would they need to open those gates? I'm guessing that's why they needed the keys to cause chaos because they couldn't figure out what you're trying to figure out right now. It's not locate. So maybe we can do what they couldn't and shut a door that won't ever open. So far we've outpaced them in many ways. If nothing else, if we could know where it's going to be, then we could stop getting there I guess. But if it's, let's sleep in Displacer be sly. So maybe we should just leave it as is and leave it unsolved so that nobody ever solves it. I am intrigued, I must say, if we could somehow rid the world of the outcast. Yeah. That does. That'd be a good thing. Sound pretty good? Yeah. Stacey. Is secured upstairs and the beds are ready. If you both would like to take your rest, feel free to continue perusing, but just so you know, beds are ready. I'll scratch my head. I'm going to pause as I adjust the hat again, I know we're here, OMA and all that, but do you think I'll point to the rows of books? Do you think there's something here that might have an answer for this? And I'll just lift the hat up a little bit to show the horns. Should we just look and see if we can grab something to look at later? I don't. What kind of answer are you looking for? Exactly? Anything really? How to control, how to communicate, how to break a contract. That is the difference, isn't it from before or it wasn't a consensual arrangement in your head. This one? Yeah. Which is. I have to say I am loath to help you find a way to control it then. Control isn't the right word. It's more like so it doesn't. Explode. Right. I know it's not good and it's attempting, but I know I can't use it unless I have to. I guess. There's. Lots to be said on the matter. I know. But don't. Please. Don't use it. And I'll walk over to the books. I'll just do a quick check to see if there's anything on demons and or devils or whatever. Possession, contract, signings, anything like that. I'll just do a check. Okay. Make an investigation check for me. Eight. Eight. You're looking through nothing specifically on what you're looking for. No. Do I find anything else while I'm browsing that piques my interest? That's not about a demon. What are some of the other books say. With that role looking through? You mostly are just looking at, it's just rows and rows of journals and most of what you're finding is pretty basic day-to-day journaling. You do get the sense that this family was one that religiously chronicled their lives and it's sort of this like a religious chronicling of their lives and making sure to take notes on the things that are happening around them. But the thing is most of those things are mundane. I'll noticing this pattern and seeing that they would take daily notes. I'll kind of shift focus and turn to calec once again and hold up one of the journals. Nothing about possession and contracts, but they journaled everything. I'm noticing that as well. Maybe they had some stuff about the last day they were here. Maybe that's a book worth taking. I'll see if there's a newest looking. Book and I'll help him as well and try and find the newest, the last entry before I'm guessing they died or left. Okay. As you are looking through, you do see that there's a section of about five or six books that we're probably written by the various denizens of this house. It would probably take a while for you to read through and find specific dates and leading up to. So yeah, it would probably take you more than a night to look through these. I just want to get the last one. Can I just flip through and just find the last date and data? It seems like this is the most recent one. Looking through you. It would probably have to be almost deciphered to see where the last date was and all that. Okay. Just for me, there's just hundreds of books here and they all look at both the same seems it might've bound these themselves or the amount of writing they were doing. We have this as a place we can return. It's fair. They might've been bound by subject matter versus date too. It's possible that they weren't even on, if they bound them towards they. Might have brought 'em with them and. Their. Class stuff. Yeah. Oh yeah. When we have more time, I guess just wish we had. Short, it'll be soon. Well I don't think that Afton was a demon person. Seems from what I've read so far that he wanted to skip that step and go straight to the creators of all things take their power. Seems like maybe he was dealing with other worldly entities. I just thought maybe. They're a bit different and I'll just go upstairs. Tmm still have a piece. Do we still have a piece of the crown? I remember the crown was broken. That was put on the red wolf today. No, we put. No. So you assembled it and put it back. That's what abated the darkness and. Brought it back in. Got it. I. Just thinking a message. Cool. Just making intro. Yeah. Interesting. Ick. Head up the stairs out of the basement area. I'll kind of look at the books and kind of put them back on the shelves and just look at all the knowledge from a moment and kind of take it in and I'll head up, follow him up. And as you both head upstairs at this point and Brimm finishing the first of what is probably going to be, what is going to have to be multiple lessons using this thing. Your minds are getting a little bit tired. You're less focused des seeker. You walk back in the house, the warmth is very inviting. You are all able to go into and find different rooms. You all have definitely had better accommodations than this in the past. It is sparse, but at least the warmth of the house is keeping you comfortable and out of the snow. So as you all fall to sleep, as you all take your long rest, I am going to have everyone take the effects of a long rest. Please. Please. And thank you. Sure. Not going to argue. And with that, at the end of your long rest, you all wake up in, what is time right now? You have no idea. We don't looking outside noonish, but as you all sort of wake and your body's clocks sort of wake you up in this time all at about the same time, it does seem that for the most part the house has been protected. You have not seen or heard anything throughout the night and it seemed to be a pretty safe long rest. So as you all wake and meet back in the sort of living room of this house, what would you all like to do? I am going to go up to keep her. Okay. Thanks for protecting us last night. I know you kind of belong to me now and this whole house does. I think we'll be back. I would like to be back. Well I sure hope you do. You'll to come and pick up Stacey. And it feels safe here and I like it, so maybe I'll talk to my friends and see if we can put something here so that we can come easily back. Okay. Being friendly faces is always nice and plus I have to run to the general store and get paint and some wood and there is a lot of work I need to do. I need to trim the hedges. There aren't even hedges anymore. I need to purchase hedges. There's a long list of things I need to do, so I will be here. Let me know if you need anything. I'm glad that you are here. And I'm glad that you came here. Patsy on the head. Okay? Okay, well if you all are leaving, I would like to bid you safe travels and I will be here if and when you decide to come back. Kipa, can I steal your attention for just a second? Absolutely. And I'll kind of take him off to the corner. I had noticed that Ulma after I drew them, didn't really want to look at them too. Is there someone in town who could make lockets or something of that nature? They have a jeweler or. Oh yes, I know the best jeweler in town. Right? I'm going to trust you with this. It's very special and it's for ulma and I'm just going to take the knife I usually use to take when I'm offering a drawing to someone, I'll take it, slice it out and I'm going to take the portrait I took of all of the members of Alma's family and I will give him the instructions necessary in order to have it sized down and made into a different semblance of portraiture for a locket for ulma. Okay? And this sort of featureless face of light looks down at it sort of tilts his head to the side, looks back at you. That is a very good idea. And hold on to the larger one. Maybe you could also frame it, but I think she'd like to have them with her. Very well. Thank you. I have my orders, so as I said, I will be here and I await your return. See you soon keeper. Goodbye. And you all leave the house out into the cold. It is once again snowing and as you step out you are familiarized with the town or this little corner of the town, the two crossroads that you came to. And I'll ask, which direction are you heading? Are you heading back to the mountain, into the forest. Since there are people awake now I don't want to be seen so I am going to put my hood up. Okay. Because I know that there are people looking for the three of us at least specifically. So. Okay. Could I saddle up next to Keck before we kind of head out of the house? Okay. I kind of remember you talking about this so maybe it's fine, but didn't you say something about teleporting places that you could do. I can get us back to Marta. Is that still up? Hi. Okay, don't worry. Every other moment I think about grabbing on and taking her out of here. Especially where we're going. I want to make sure we have an exit strategy. Yeah, it's on me mind. Let's get out of here. You guys think that Hare could build another teleportation circle here. From, again, I don't know everything about magic, but I think that takes a long time to do. I don't mean right now, I just mean. At some point. Yeah. Hare's brilliant. What he's also consumed with his whatever you want to call it, he said Leslie Parson, but yeah, very powerful between him and Xavier certainly. Yeah, Xavier probably could do it too or both of them together. Maybe even faster. I'm. Not sure. Yeah, I mean it'd be nice to have a circle in one of the rooms and then we could just come here whenever we want. You like it here, huh? Well yeah, it's home. With the promise of Benton Glass. I bet we could get him to do almost anything. Let's not. Remind. Him that Alma here. To speak the truth. No, we're not going to do that. I didn't say it was a good idea. Kali. Don't say it at all. Sacred k. Crying anyway. I can also probably set up a beacon here for us to come back to. You would need me, what I can take back. Well and wouldn't that take a lot out of you to come back here? Hi. What? Not too much. Yeah, but what if I just want to come just because I don't want to make you have to use so much energy to get out here. Sure. I appreciate that. Maybe if we can't get a whole circle, that'd be a good solution. Shall I think we should go into the mountain pretty quickly? People are awake now and it'd be best if we were not seen. Think. Brim. You can lead the way. Alright, Brimm, you lead the way and as you begin you guys are sort of on the opposite end of town and Brimm leads you sort of cutting through town to get to the forest as you're cutting through town. Oma mentioned that people are awake. You don't see any of 'em. You don't see anybody out. No. I don't like it. And as you are sort of good going through each of the streets, it is quiet and at this time maybe some shops might've closed by this time just throughout the day, but you don't see anyone. It's. Pretty dark, right? I. Mean it is pretty dark as well. Yeah. But it's like lunchtime. It should be people take lunch. You should be rushing now at the local. Cresting evening, maybe from what you recall,

three to 4:

00 PM something in there as you all start walking through and there's sort of this miniature courtyard that you begin walking through and as you get to the middle of this courtyard. Can we be careful? Can we be walking this? I mean I put my foot up to hide so I know. Yeah, you start moving a little bit slow and as you are making your way, you get into sort of this courtyard area and you hear. From. Just behind you. If it isn't my inspection team. As around the corner behind you, you hear the voice of Warden Barrett Hasell as he steps out from behind a building. Oh no and looks at all of you. We should. Should have changed. Her Flynn Oma and ick. My invisible. You turn around and you see the warden who previous you saw him very large imposing Goliath of a creature with pristine golden armor. But now. Oh no. You see half of a face burned up. You see that burning extended into chest and shoulder armor that is almost melted into skin and beyond that, beyond the melting damage of the armor into the skin, you start to see over the entire right half of the torso into the arm leading down into a massive sword, this black and red necrotic energy beginning to form down into the hand and the hilt of this massive great sword that is brimming with necrotic energy. It has these red and black spikes that are coming off of it in every which way, every direction. I have been looking for you all for a very long time. Does it look like maybe he does not work for the prison anymore? That's a possibility. Does he look like he's a little grimy? He looks a. Little grimy. Like he's not. Before he was. Orderly. Before he was sort of picture perfect Paladin. Now he is very much not that you look into his eyes probably a little unhinged. We. Ruined his life. As he says that you all hear from all around you cliques as dwarven guards on rooftops and from around corners with crossbows. Emerge. Says. I have been looking for you all for a very long time and you want to know something. I'm not the only one As you hear and in a burst of this golden yellow smoke. On the top. Of a rooftop, you don't have to do. This. If you. See robes and an Elvin woman with a try ring tattoo on her forehead. Not like this. As she waves her hand through the air as. No. Four MAs in red, Closs. Surround you as well. Oh my. I'm going to share this battle map and as I do, I'm going to have everyone roll initiative. Oh my god. I don't want to fight. I want to run. My heart rate just went. Up. So we've got D and guards that are the dwarves. We've got MAs of the Red Wolf, which are these little creeps obviously we have all of you. This right here is Brimm handsome Devil. So handsome. We've got Artesia. Artesia right here. Right there. And then the warden right here. I. Heard I do that. And then is there anything that people want to change in their positioning here within the map? I just sort of randomly put them in. I'm going to put Flynn into an actual spot here. Does anyone have any objections as to where they're at? No, I want to be closer to this and yeah, could Seeker be behind? Has stealth. Okay, so. Seeker wants to be next to thee. I've been here. A long Yeah. I would be with Kellogg. I'm sure that makes the most sense. That makes sense. When I'm invisible I tend to grip. Your clothes. So if we were moving just wherever, which direction we were moving on, Bri would just be in front is well, so as long as we're. Yeah, okay. Boy, I thought we were just going to walk out this. Be that. Easy. We really thought we were because we did not protect ourselves at all. You. Stopped. I did and I brought it up to the group. Well the rest of us were like. Was. Like, let's move. Quickly. He did. I was. Like, let's move quickly. People are after. Us. He also said, well yeah, we know the three. Initiative. Ick. That's going to be a seven. Seven BRI. 17. Oma. 12. Nestle. 19. Okay, secret Bente. It Chase. Nine three. I'm just preparing for when we are going to be broadcast Spanish. The whole thing will be in Spanish. 18. It'll definitely be subtitled. I got. You. Been truthful. Is it blurry for you guys? It's sharp on my end. Is it blurry for you guys? I know what. Devon teaches. Spanish. Maybe switching to a different page or something like that in universe. That makes me sound way fancier than I. First up, seeker gets the drop on everyone see initiative. What do you want to do? God, there's so many people. Do a thing. Seeker. I'm very overwhelmed. I, Rodney and I seeker. Were very overwhelmed. I am going. Okay, I have, so a question would, what's her name again? Artesia. Artemesia? Yeah. Would she have been described at any point? I'm trying to remember. I've obviously never seen her. You guys talked about the But what, I don't dunno if. She would've ever. Described her. Yeah, I think yeah, you probably don't, but. Ick described your death. So at any given multiple. Times would I recognize the symbol on her forehead? Yeah. You know what means it's the symbol on my hand. You. Knowing. Being a person of the gods in Elbo. Also. Okay, so what I'm going to immediately do is reach into my bag and take out my tribute totem and I'm going to turn it to activate it and say these gifts I give to you and I'm going to move myself. I'm going to move north and I'm going to pass a, yeah, I want to go around the corner of the building that's ahead of me and right around the corner where there's a, looks like there's a step or a porch or something. I want to set the totem there. And. What is the radius of the totem? 30 Feet I believe. 30 Feet. Okay. I will double check that. But what I want to do then is disengage with the mage. Wait, there's two people on that? No. Yeah, I want to disengage with major and run back to the side. Okay. And then. Yeah, that'll be 30 feet of movement to get. Back and I'll look over if I can say something short. Try to get some distance if you must cast. Oh. Okay. Can you give me a definitive radius on. That? I can. I made a magic item and it says 30 feet. 30 Foot radius or diameter. You and your words. You want specificity. Pacific. It just says cast within 30 feet of it. So that would be. A 30 foot radius. Yeah. Jesus. Let's see, here. We go. Baby foot down. That's. Berkeley as well. They're on top. Of And that's for building. It's, I'm guessing it's a. It's 30 foot. Yeah, a 30 foot radius sphere. Okay. We do see it though, right? We shimmer? No, we know what this device we've seen. We've seen it. We've seen it before. Specifically. What it does it in the temple? Yeah, yeah, I remember. Yes. Oh nice. No, that'll no, no. Anything cast within that radius. It will absorb for a time, not forever. Right. Okay. And then can I count on you to keep track of the time? Yeah. Okay, perfect. Okay. Is that the end of your turn? That is a lot of. I. Believe you used your movement, your bonus action and your action, right? Yes. Okay. Okay. Next up in the initiative is we got a couple of guards who, lemme see you all. Crossbow. Boys. Crossbo boys find. Nemes, the dreaded. Crossbow boys, some of them sort of on the southern edge, on the rooftops step up or actually take almost this long range sniper position on some of you and they're going to let loose a couple of crossbow bolts. At who. At? Give me one second. I've got to pull this up. Everyone's within 10 of. You. All me. And they're all poisoned. I think everybody flashing back and remembering. I hear the click of the. CrossBoss and I'm like. I starts twitching. I. Think everyone is within 10 feet of being. I think so. Except for. Where secret? No, Cal's a little bit further. But. Actually I think within 10 feet actually. Yes. So they are going to be at, let's see, so this first one that's going off is going to be at ick. Intercepting. Okay. I can do that with range attacks. Okay. He's 10 feet away. From you. Yeah, within 10 feet. Is he within 10 feet? Okay. Damn. That's got some range. Yeah, I'm going to do, it's a one D 10 plus four minus the damage if it hits. Okay. If it hits nice. Yeah. Okay, so let's see. Those are going to be two crossbow bolts. That is going to be an 18 and a 16 to hit one hits. Okay. That one hits. It'll be reduced by 14. Yeah. Holy crap. I rolled 10. Does he. Gain health on that? Yeah, no, there is no damage that happens. My sword just splashes out right in front of your eyes, slices the. And you see poison drip off. These other two are going to be coming towards Flynn. So. That is dark Flynn. A tend to hit and a 11 to hit on the first. Guard. No. So I'll just raise up my Buckler and just flex them off. Okay. And then that next one is going to be a 14 to hit. Good luck. And an 18 to hit to me. Yes. Yeah, again, just deflecting, deflecting with the shield, kind of just crouching down behind the well a little bit to use it as cover as well and just deflecting all of the. All right. Okay, so the guards all do not hit their marks. Hey, next up Sly. Okay. I am tracking what I am perceiving to be the two biggest threats that have just come onto the scene, which I do believe to be hostile and that is correct, knowing that they're both pretty close to me. So I have some decisions to make and the first decision that I make is I'm going to use my action to initiate the wings because she's on the roof. Right? She's on the roof. She's on. The roof. Okay. So that's going to give me lots of mobility. So that's happening. And then I am going to move within 10 feet of Artemesia. So rings are going to sprout. I'm going to fly up and I'm going to use my 30 feet to get within 10 feet of her. And I reach my handout as I fly up and I am going to invoke my vow of enmity on Artemesia. So this a sort of starlike image of Fenra flashes across her, allowing me to see her in better periphery, better vision, better concentration, all focused on her through my vow Enid. And it means I gain advantage on attack rolls against her for as long as my wings last. So hey. Hey. Alright, just a minute. Turn. That is my turn though. Okay. Big sick. Next up when she took off, I've been like, I can't watch your left. I'm going to have to get my own left this time. Oh, ity is a Paladin condition, right? I just want to make sure. It is a channel divinity feature. Perfect. I get it once a day. Yeah, but it's not. A spell. It is not a spell. Just wanted to clarify. Next up is Artemesia. So hi. You writing down the. Orders. Artemesia is going to take her movement and she's going to run off of this roof. Girl. Good luck Stabby. Stabby. Well, sly, do you want to take a attack of opportunity? Yeah, I do. Do you have we? Because you used your reaction. Oh. I used my reaction so I can't. But definitely. Turn ended though. It comes back. Does. It come back after her turn? I think I get a reaction every it comes back after my turn. I thought it was. Oh, reset start of your, so you want an. Order? Order of operation. I'm definitely putting a divine mite into those. Okay. You want to take that attack? I do, I do. I'm just trying not to panic. Heal. Her. Is that a spell though? What? Would you know that to do that. Divine No branding mite is a smell, divine smell. But it use a spell branding spine. Does leave a smell? No, I don't know. It uses a spell spot. I don't know if it's a spell. It. Uses a spell slot, but I'm going to leave that up to. You. It it's up to you. Yeah. I don't want you to waste it. It does use a spell slot, but it does not say it's a spell like in the, I don't know. Interesting. I. Would, it's a DMM call. DMM call. I think odin's weird. I'm going to say no. Okay. No, it's not a spell. Yeah, I'm going to say no. Feels like a God thing on the basis that it cannot be counters spelled. Oh. Good way. That makes sense. Rule. This just does affect what happens because, so whenever I hit with a melee weapon attack, now I automatically get a one D eight radiant damage, but it's called improved divine mite, but it doesn't qualify that I have to hit with divine smite to have the extra radiant damage. Okay. Okay, so you get both. Yeah. Cool. Yes. I want to make sure everyone you're at advantage knows where I'm getting damage from Advantage. Yes, I am at advantage because it's on her. Yes. Advantage. Sorry, I didn't expect her to move. I'm panicking that 22. Oh yeah, that's for sure. How much divine divinity. I just get the improved. I don't get the And. Do you have Sentinel so that she can't move? I don't. Is. That you? No. Okay. That's not me. No. Okay, get eight extra. T eight. What level? Huh? What level? Divine. Smite. I can't do a divine smite, but I get improved. It's a thing that I get automatically where I get automatic radiant damage. Wait. Why can't you Divine spike? I can't define Sprite because of the magic. No, no. He said it's okay. He said. It's. It. Can't be counters spelled, so it is. I want to make sure that. I misunderstood. So hold on. That's another. One. I wasn't going to say anything. I'm so sorry. Oh my god. Okay, so let me take that out. Flies up to and is. Like literally in the last. Three seconds, it's been like ing. Block the fault. So eight. Five, right now. What? Maybe we'll be okay. It's a total of what's 15 plus eight? 23. Thank you. 23 Points of damage. Three. Nice. Slow down. I didn't even, didn't even process the question. Then. Yeah, if she can continue moving, she is definitely going. To rake across her with a long sword, but I'm not a, and I'm staring daggers after her. She's. My. Target. She jumps off of the roof. Breaks her ankle. She lands on her neck and dies. Great. A shingle hits her on the head. Sweet. Down. One down. You keep her running. I like. It. I always ask about this Fall damage is more than 10 feet, right? Yep. Yes. If it's more than. And also for you guys, each of these some plume is a single story town, so I'm qualifying each of the houses as 10 feet. Just make that sense. That. Makes sense. Makes sense. So that qualifies if you want to climb or if you want to shop report or whatever. Okay, so she jumps down out of the radius of this. Of. Course circle. She knows what it is. I'm guessing she is a. Guy idea. I rolled a perception check for her on that one. Yeah, makes sense. And she is well aware of what artifacts like this do. Oh, absolutely. Super aware. I mean, she's also super old. And she's the leader of Premier Temple. And she also tried to do the thing to steal magic from flowers from. And she's going to take an old classic as she claps her hands together, a ball of energy. Between. She claps her hands again. Boom. She's going to cast times stop, no. Counters spell. Oh. Okay. You're going to cast counters. Spell counter, spell. Do. Do, do counter. Spell a counter spell. Is that a thing? You. Can counter spell? Well wait. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you can. Yeah. Okay, so I'm going to walk through this. Tell me if I'm being crazy, I would roll for her counter. Spell against yours first because if her counter spell counters yours, it doesn't matter if yours succeeds on hers because yours automatically fails. Gotcha. Is that okay? I just want to make sure that's fair. The. Level that she chooses, is that how that works? Or do you have to beat the roll that she, one second. The DC equals 10 plus plus. The question. Before we go into that. The DC equals 10 plus, so he has to roll above a 15 because five, because I'm five my highest. Almost inside the radius of the totem. Oh. Shit. Oh yeah. Lives within the radius. Know that. Right? You even wait, it's a, you're taking, it's a reaction. She can't move. Well, but is the reaction spell? This is the same thing still. It's still a spell that you cast. It's different because we just discussed, I'm literally counter spelling yours. So that's kind of the metric that I'm using. If it can be counters spelled, it is a spell, that will then. Be, well, if I'm within the thing, then I would. That was all just a powerful hypothetical exercise. Level. D g folks, I feel like. We learned something. Just call. That. Okay. Then each she's going to have have times stop. It's. Okay. She's going to get, let me see, going to get a couple of extra rounds. So she lands on the ground, casts times stop, and as you all slow and stop to a halt, you see Artemesia, she reaches into her back pocket, pulls out a little glass of vial filled with some green glass, a little bit. Of goopy. Goop breaks. It takes a deep breath as her eyes light up, green degenerate. She's going to take an action to takes some bening glass. Oh geez. That's two action. One action in the time stop. Action. That is one action within the tiny. Does she have three? I. Think next up she's going to cast globe of invulnerability as she waves her hand around almost sculpting this globe around her of light shimmering energy. Then she's going to cast major armor on herself, upping her ac. I'm glad I got that one hit off. I guess. Can anything get. Through global vulnerability? I don't. Know. I don't. Yeah, I don't think so. Okay. That is Artemesia turn. Next up is Flynn. I mean, so I heard get away from the thing from Seeker, so my plan was to run over that way anyway, so I'm just going to run towards Artemesia and the warden seeing that she was casting spells out there. I'll just run next to her knowing that that's a safe place to cast. Okay. You would have to leave the warden's. Could. I maybe be below and to the left of the warden? There is no way. I could do, there is no fail. There is no. If you need me to make a check or something, I don't know. I don't know if what the rule is for that. Lemme see if there's something with happening. Yeah. So a small creature can pass through the space of a medium or larger creature without an impediment movement, correct? I don't know. I think you have to do double or if it's an enemy, you can stop me. I don't know. I. Think that's only for hiding. Yeah. I think the Lightfoot one's been, I'm a stout. Oh, then yeah. I don't know. So you wouldn't be able to, you would either have to. Yeah, you would have to in order to get there, you would have to move out of his attack. Radius. Okay. Yeah, let's, good. I'm going to cast. Okay, so you're running past him and behind Artemesia? Yeah. Okay, so you'll be taking an attack of opportunity from the warden. Sure. That is going to be, I mean, it's a high number on the die. So give me one second because he's got a new sword now. Yes, mother. Oh man. That's going to be a 28 to hit. Yeah, that'll. Hit. Okay. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. You positive to. Do the math but right. It's possible it doesn't. Okay. That is going to be 19 points of slashing damage. Okay. Plus 15 points of necrotic damage. Ow. Ow. Okay. Alright. You move past. I don't have anything else to do. So I'll just go to some of my sword and I'll use a bonus action to bring it in and it comes in corporeal or regular and then it turns into that mist and that shadow and I'll bring that blade in and summon it at third level and I'll just stare daggers at Artemesia. Can I get a gauge of what this spell is? Because last time it was cast, I saw it, if I can remember correctly. Do I remember if anything could get through it or did anyone try casting or shooting her with. From what you remember? Everything that you attempted to do towards Artemesia was negated by this spell. And do I have any movement left? You would've, let's see, 5, 10, 15, 20. Yeah, you still have 10 feet moving. He only has 25. Oh, I'm sorry, you have five feet. Yeah. If that's only movement, I'll just stay there and I'll just look. I will look at just art iMedia and then kind of glance over to the ward and you're deciding on what I want to do next. And that's my turn. Alright. That's the influence. Turn next up in the initiative is the warden. Alright. The warden is going to march forward. He is equidistant from Seeker and ick, but he knows Keck and he's going to decide between the two and just march barreling forward towards Keck and with this necrotic, jagged, spiked sword. He's going to make a couple of swings at you bringing it down with just anger in these swings. Okay. That first swing is a natural 20. No. No it's not. No it's not. I'll use my reaction. You use your reaction. Okay. Damn it. Death start. Is that note at. Death door. Okay, then that is canceled. So that is still going to be. He's swinging down at me. Yeah. He's doing like an overhead, almost like an ax bringing it down at you. I bring my shield up, but I see that the force of, it's just going to cut right through me. And as I'm sort of muttering this incantation, literally there's a rift forming at the edges of the sword where almost like a burst of wind, these embers are burning out, pushing the sword back just to reduce its. Velocity. Ever so slightly. Just enough to not cut me in half for. Sure. So that is going to be 24 points of slashing damage plus an additional 12 points of necrotic damage. But not six four. Oh my. God. That is going to be his first attack. His second attack. As he swings it down at you, it slices at the front of your chest and buries itself into the ground. And as it does, he almost struggles to bring it up out of the ground with just his hands as he takes a step back. And with his right foot fully just kicks the sword up and out as it swings up over his head and uses the momentum to come back for a second attack. It almost looks like this sword is too heavy for him, but he's just able to use the momentum enough and that is going to be a 17 to hit. Does not hit. Okay. I'm watching this in horror, but just the slight moment he takes to kick the thing up, I'm able to just duck out of the way of the second swing. Okay. That is the, let me see. Lemme see if it's the end of his turn. Yeah, that's the end of his turn. Oh shit. Okay, cool. Next up in the initiative is brimm. Geez. I'm going to turn to seeker and I'm going to go real quick. On a scale of one to 10, how fucked are we right now? Good enough. On. A scale of one to 10, and then I'm going to turn to Oma real quick and I just give her a invisible, oh, sorry. Okay. Yeah, that's right. Oma is invisible erection. I'll turn in your erection. I keep forgetting you're invisible. Yeah, I look for can't find her and I reach out my hands and kind of take a deep breath and there's a moment of stillness and close my eyes and then when they open, they blast red and then the red and the black of my eyes start spreading out from my eyes and over my face as my skin goes black and lava fissures begin to form all over my skin as I will. Excuse me, I will use my janati heritage to become and this aura of fires and in a 10 foot radius it washes over you guys harmlessly. Anybody though that is, thank you for specifying. A bad guy will take fire damage if they start their turn within 10 feet of me. Nice. Okay, so that's my, that is my Effects going through right now. Yeah. So that is my jani thing to the, yes. Okay. So as it's a bonus action you gain, I have resistant cold damage, an aura, flames, and a 10 foot radius, bright light for 30 feet dimm for an additional 30. And any creature of my choice that starts its turn within 10 feet of me takes fire damage equal to half my level rounded down, and that lasts for a minute until I get knocked the fuck out. How much damage is that? How much damage? My level is half my level is six. So six points of fire damage and then I am going to run straight up the roof and I just run up the wall and pop myself right next to the mage so that the two magees and that D and guard and yeah, actually that's fine. Just. To specify, the mage that is on the ground would be out of that radius just because they're on the ground an additional 10 feet away. Cool. Cool. And then I'm going to hit this other Mge with my sword. Okay. Okay. We do this hit. Would it hit him as he's running? As he's climbing out their turn start their turn. They have to start their turn first. Strike natural one. Cool. His eyebrows. It's inches. Yeah, he's like, strike. Yeah, that's 28 to hit. He likes that. Okay. Much. Here for this. Pull 'em up. I don't have any allies. Burn. Burn 'em. Burn 'em. All. 12 Points of damage. I'm going to spend a key stunning strike. All right. I'm sorry, that was 12 points of damage. 12. Points of, yeah, mix. It's sorry, six, eight points of slashing, four points of cold. Gotcha. Okay. And then yeah, I'm going to spend a key point and do a stunning strike on that mage right there. Okay. Is that a roll from him? Yeah. Constitution saving throw. From the mage. DC 18. No way. That's going to be stunned. A seven. So that is. Cool. That's my turn. That's my turn. Stunts are. Great. And with that, as Brimm ends his turn. So cool. You all see the remaining dwarves on the rooftops, come to the edge, train their cross bows on all of you. And as you all look around, you are still completely surrounded. And that is where we're going to end. No. We're. Going to call it right there. Thank you. All so much for listening.
