Austin started his military career in between his junior and senior year of high school in the army reserve. He worked his way up from the reserves to the 82nd airborne and then on to staff sergeant in the ranger regiment. After completing 3 tours in the Middle East, he retired from the military, settled with his wife, Chloe in Idaho and has been pursuing the cowboy lifestyle.
