Theatre Collingwood is a leading voice in a grassroots community group that is working to create a world class arts, culture and entertainment centre in South Georgian Bay.
Despite not having a venue, Theatre Collingwood has found a method to produce shows in a very creative way such as the Porchside Festival where performers are staged on porches with the audience sitting on the lawn as well as the ever so popular “Sunday in The Vineyard” along with their “Subscription Series” with participant multi-Juno Award recipient and former Canadian super singing group The Nylons, Billy Newton-Davis.
New to Theatre Collingwood this year is the drama education program for seniors as well as youth “Effective Storytelling” that began on April 5th giving seniors an opportunity to tell their stories with instructor, Scott Hurst. Scott is an actor, acting coach and storyteller with over 40-years of professional experience. Collingwood audiences may remember him from last season’s Porchside Festival where he portrayed actor/storyteller, Charles Laughton in “Laughton Common”.
