Toronto filmmakers, Kwesi Thomas and Mark Bone recently released a short documentary that captured the attention of Vimeo’s Staff Pick Premier titled “Battleground”.
The film, which is about the effects of the George Floyd murder on the Canadian black community, aims to spark conversations and give a glimpse into the effects of racism in this country.
The film was conceived by Kwesi Thomas and Mark Bone through their conversations immediately following the death of Georg Floyd. It is an intimate look into the subtle, often overlooked moments of racism and the ensuing vulnerabilities that linger for life and can shape identity.
Dianna was delighted to welcome via ZOOM from Toronto philosophy PhD candidate, poet and documentarian, Kwesi Thomas and award-winning, multi-talented documentary and commercial director, Mark Bone.
