Show Notes

Described as one of the most innovative of their era, iconic Canadian artists, Martha and the Muffins are planning to launch an album of new music in 2022.

On November 5th, they released the compilation “Marthology: In and Outtakes” offering thirteen tracks of demos, alternate versions including the 30th anniversary version of Juno-winning single “Echo Beach”, the band’s first and biggest hit.

Formed in 1977 during the early days of Toronto’s punk, new wave and pop scene, they were the first Canadian band to sign to a UK label where they recorded their debut album “Metro Music” at the Manor Studio in England. And from there, would go on to tour and receive more than three decades worth of critical acclaim worldwide.

Over the years, the band also formed a relationship with Grammy-winning producer, Daniel Lanois on their 1981’s “This is the Ice Age” where his sister, Jocelyne was a bassist for the group.

Dianna was delighted to welcome via ZOOM Toronto based duo, Martha Johnson and Mark Gane from Martha and The Muffins. For more information visit their social media platforms.
