She was the youngest of eight siblings, began her musical journey as a young girl in Montreal. She performed in costumes hand-tailored by her mother, singing hit songs by legends like Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples, Gladys Knight, The Supreme and the Jackson Five.

Despite facing a hearing impairment that required surgical treatment during her early childhood, her passion for music remained steadfast. She found her inspiration in gospel, blues, country and classic soul.

Garnetta Cromwell, an award-winning classic soulful blues artist, is set to perform with her band DaGroovmasters at the Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues Festival on Sunday, September 15th at 5:40 p.m.

This past year, she was nominated for new artist at the 2024 Maple Blues Award. Her debut full-length album titled “Time to Shine” was released last September and earned her the 2023 Maple Blues Award for new artist/group.
