208 NASCAR at COTA, Ross Chastain wins his first cup race! Plus our Richmond Preview
Mar 28, 2022 Season 2 Episode 8

Sunday at the Circuit of the America's Ross Chastain scored his first cup series win leading 31 of 69 laps with an intense last lap battle with AJ Allmendinger and Alex Bowman.

This week on the Bump N' Run Podcast veteran radio host Michael D. White, Daytona Ron, and Matt "The Stat Man" Reilly talk about the latest news including Brad Keselowski and RFK issued a massive penalty an L2 penalty and Joey Logano to run Bristol Dirt truck race

Truck race: Zane Smith
Xfinity race: AJ Allmendinger
Cup race: Ross Chastain scored his first cup series win leading 31 of 69 laps with an intense last lap battle with AJ Allmendinger and Alex Bowman.

Highlights: 3 hrs 20 minutes and 57 seconds
9 cautions for 13 laps
13 lead changes among 9 drivers
1 Chastain, 2 Bowman, 3 Bell, 4 Elliott, 5 Reddick

Race notes:
Where was Kyle Larson?

Chase salvaged a nice 4th place finish, after having some issues throughout the race including some lost positions on pit road and contact with Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch just got run over a few times throughout the day. It looked like he would have a good finish until last lap when he lost control and spun out.

Aj Allmendinger finished 33rd after getting stuck in the gravel on the last lap.

Christopher Bell salvaged a great top 5 after being a non factor and a rough day including a loss of power steering, being one lap down, and narrowly avoiding a spinning Austin Cindric

Austin Cindric with a top ten after a mid race spin would put him off the pace.

Bowman had a great run at the end, solid top ten all day long, and made the best of the day.

Erik Jones, another nice top ten finish after a rough day. Looked great for most of the day until he lost power putting him a lap down. Just a great effort.

And the pick a lane: Is it too early to call that the youth movement is here to stay?

And the betting preview for this week's Toyota Owners 400 Sunday 3:30 on Fox!
