Joseph's story reveals the painful reality of being forgotten by people while never being forgotten by God. After interpreting dreams for Pharaoh's cupbearer and baker in prison, Joseph made a simple request to be remembered and mentioned to Pharaoh. Though his interpretations proved accurate, the cupbearer forgot Joseph for two more years. This divine forgetting served crucial purposes: shattering Joseph's idols and self-reliance, staging his calling at precisely the right moment for God's greater plan, and shaping his character through ordinary faithfulness. While people may forget us, God never does - He remains with us through every season of waiting and apparent abandonment.
