Broken relationships are one of the most painful parts of being human, but the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis gives us a clear and practical roadmap for true reconciliation. Reconciliation is not just a feel-good idea. It is one of the central themes of the entire Bible, rooted in God's own work of restoring people to Himself through Jesus Christ. Joseph's journey through betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment ultimately led to a powerful moment of restoration with the very brothers who had wronged him. True reconciliation moves through five essential steps: confrontation, conviction, confession, confirmation, and consummation. One of the most important distinctions along the way is understanding that forgiveness and trust are not the same thing. Forgiveness can happen in a moment, but trust must be built slowly through consistent, proven behavior. Time alone does not heal all wounds. Only time with God heals every wound.
