God did not create you for isolation or artificial connection. He created you for three foundational relationships: a relationship with Him, a relationship with other people, and a relationship with creation. Because God Himself exists in perfect relationship as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, He wired that same need for connection into every human being. Loving God means giving Him your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. Loving others means getting outside of your own interests and pursuing honest, sacrificial community. And caring for creation means treating the world around you as a gift from God that you are responsible to steward well. When all three of these relationships are in their right order, you experience the wholeness the Bible calls shalom. You were made for more than substitutes. You were made for real connection.
