Hello again,

I was fortunate to be able to visit Sonoma Raceway at Sears Point for Friday of the 2026 GT World Challenge weekend.  It was unseasonably hot and was not as cool as it usually is visiting in late March.  Anyway, it was fun to catch up with these cars and remember what it was like to see sports car racing at Sears Point Raceway in years past.

I was able to say hello to Craig Stanton who was a driver in the American Le Mans Series back in the early 2000's when he drove for the Petersen White Lightning Porsche GT Class team.  They owned and operated a Porsche 996 GT3-RSR racing car back in that period.  I saw Mr Stanton race in the #31 Porsche at Laguna Seca back in 2004 when Laguna Seca hosted its very first "day into night" 4 hour endurance race which was also the season finale in 2004.  Craig Stanton and Rick Knoop go way back.

It was great to also meet Amanda Busick, Loni Unser and her Dad Johnny Unser.

Thanks for listening!
