All right, and Jason is here from Revive the Hive. So glad to see you once again.
SPEAKER_03Good morning.
SPEAKER_01We are still about to have you come over to my house. We have lots of uh cleanup to do around our house. You know, this time of year a lot of people are um thinking about the outdoors, and there are things that you can do um, you know, which is so great. And the reason why, as a homeowner who doesn't do a lot of things themselves, it's so important to know that you can hire um one company and they help you with all the things that need to be done for your home. Yep. And that's what you guys pride yourselves on. So, Jason, tell us a little bit about um what that looks like from your perspective when a homeowner says, I have all these issues. I got like for me, it was like I have damaged stucco and chips and you know, the the the roof is dirty, the house is dirty, I got stains from squirrels and flying squirrels and bats and all this stuff. Like, can you help me do this?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so basically we I mean I mean we're able to we have so many contacts um that we're able to um contact our other our people that can handle some of those things. Now we'll take care of a lot of that, but we basically organize everything for you so you don't have to worry about it, you know, and and I know these guys are we we trust them and we can't. That's huge for a homeowner. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Is hiring the right people.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_01And it's and sometimes you're like, oh well, this price is better, but I don't know anything about any of them. And so to know that you guys have this, these relationships is I I think fantastic for the homeowner.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because you can hire someone a lot cheaper probably in different ways. Um I mean, you can find them probably all over the place, but when I know they're gonna come back. If there's ever an issue, I know they'll come back. Yeah. And I can call them and say, hey, because sometimes things do do happen. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01And um and and as we we know is how that part of customer service where the buck stops with you. Yes. And we'll know that you're gonna finish the job and do it right.
SPEAKER_03That's why we pride ourselves with um good customer service and following up and and all the the communication is is big.
SPEAKER_01So and and as being the center point as the the project manager, if you will, of any particular renovation of a kitchen or a bathroom or a whole house remodel or um to give us the scope of what you do. Do you do anything on the outside or how as the outside of the home?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah. We we we're quoting out additions right now um for for homes. Um there's a different process in that. You know, um a lot of times you might have to get architectural drawings or you know, the the permitting department requires certain things. So there's a di a little different process, but yeah, absolutely. We do all types of stuff from inside out, inside to outside. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and and that's um because uh because that takes in electric, that takes in plumbing, you may have some kind of HVAC thing and you know, duct work and all of the installation. I mean, these are all different skill sets and categories of trades. So explain to us how that works.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, it's funny when we went to our our actual our uh licensing, because before we got our license, we had to go to the board um in South Carolina and Columbia and and one of the board members said, you know what, these uh remodeling is uh in a lot of respects a lot harder to do than new builds because you gotta tear apart, figure out what you're how you're gonna do it, and then put it back together. Yeah. And um but that's that's the whole process. It's very sometimes it's hard, you know. How am I gonna get a toilet drain across the room through things, or how am I gonna get this electric and tie it together? But we're we are licensed in plumbing electrical, building, all that stuff. So we're able to do that through our experiences and stuff.
SPEAKER_01And that's why it's uh to me as a as a homeowner that doesn't have any of those skill sets, you know, it's so it's so good to know that there's one company that you can call and then you can just you know tell express exactly how you want it done, see a computerized rendering, a drawing of it, if it's a renovation or a remodel, so you can really visualize is this what we really want and listen to your advice because you've done this so many times. Um and so you can give insight and give ideas and and um and all that. If you want to follow along, you can go to revive thehive sc.com and actually see before and after photos. And if you have any questions for Jason, the budget blinds text line is open 843-798-8255. I wanted to just let you know that um when when we are doing some kind of major project at our home, you're literally inviting what could be strangers. I mean, really, you don't know who these people are, into your home. They may be staying with you, I don't mean sleeping over, but in your house for eight hours a day.
SPEAKER_04I can have phone, bring a pillow.
SPEAKER_01But I mean, these people are in your home and you know, and you want to make sure these are people that are trusted, that you can rely on, that are doing a a good job. And um, if you have any questions about anything, text in, like mechanical or technical. But really, I would like to delve a little bit deeper about the culture of your company because it is a partnership that you're gonna engage in. It could be a week long or more, you know, depending on the size of the project.
SPEAKER_03Right. Yeah, and so today I brought Iron with us. Uh he's one of our employees, and and I re just a quick backstory. Iran's from Jamaica. Um my daughter was actually at the food court at the mall, and she was eating, and she she had bowed her head and prayed before she ate. And I was very impressed. He walked up to her and and started talking to her. And anyway, my daughter invited her to church, and that's how I actually met Iran. And we we started talking and and he was looking for a job, and I said, you know what, I'll give I'll give Iran a shot, you know. So we we talked and um we were able to get him on board and start to teach him um how to do drywall, how to do painting, how to do certain things. Because not everybody can paint. I I'll just put it out there. Not everybody can paint.
SPEAKER_01Well we know that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, unless it's outside of a barn, forget it.
SPEAKER_03Yep, yep. Not everybody can do drywall. It's an art, you know, there's certain things. So um in that whole process, we're we're teaching Iron how to do more and more. And he's he's great. He's great with the customers, but I wanted to introduce him. Uh his name's just like the country I ran. So um it's spelt the same, but he's a super nice guy, and yeah, all the customers love him. Um and he's he's reliable.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, Jamaica is known for their hospitality. Yes. And um, I remember uh Javi and I took a trip over to the Bahamas and we went for horseback ride in the ocean, and everybody working that entire ranch was from Jamaica. And I thought that I was like, you guys are so nice and accommodating and happy and all that stuff. And and they're like, Well, I said, I said, people of Bahamas are so nice. He goes, Well, I'm from Jamaica. And I said, Oh my goodness. But yeah, I mean, uh that that's that's a huge part of working uh in someone's home, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Because uh Jamaica, um we our main source is tourism. So we specialize in how to treat people and all that, so you know, it develop in in our system, you know, how to treat people nice and you know, to it's not just a one-day thing, you know. You're looking um for them to come back, you know, you're trying to build um a future, um, you know, a relationship with them. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01So tell me, are are they nice at Revive the Hive? They treat you good. Oh yes. Oh yes.
SPEAKER_00Don't tell him, just tell us. You know, um he's not listening. I um I'm not saying this because um I'm a part of the company now, and our ease here, but I can say um they're one of the best people I work with in all my entire life that I'm working in organization, you know. Um the the main factor, you know, um you can be yourself. You don't have to um pretending um to please because they're the boss, you know. We we we have a relationship, we um we just feel like we are brothers, you know, one family, you know, and we treat each other with respect and um we try to maintain that and um they treat us the same way, you know, and it it's it's it's very company and and as a person who would be hiring them, um just know that you're getting that, you know, because that matters a lot.
SPEAKER_01Like I was saying, you know, you're inviting people into your home. Um and so what are some of the things that you do? Uh what do you specialize in as part of your work? I know you're learning more and more.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So when I joined the company, um they first asked me what um I specialize in. Do I know anything? I um I did know a little bit about painting and all that and drywall, but um to their aspect how they do things, um, I wasn't there yet. So um they taught me a lot and say, hey Ron, um this is not the way how you do this, and um you leave in line when you uh do the painting or all that. Um it has to be perfect. And you know, um I graph everything and I learn and you know um I become really good and I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_01You know, uh there's something to be said to be to train people, yeah. Um and and to be to find someone that is coachable, right? That is open to learning the way you do things at Revive the Hive, but also uh the fact that that they don't come in with all these bad habits already. Right, you know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and and I was open to that. And and um Iron's very teachable, but it does take patience. Um because you know, sometimes it's easier just to do it yourself at times, and I have to back off and be like, you know what, he's gotta learn. Yeah. Um or and now I can s I can let him go. Yeah. And and let him fly. That makes you a that makes you an excellent teacher to recognize that. Because Nick really is bad at that.
SPEAKER_04I'm a horrible teacher.
SPEAKER_03It's it's tough. I mean, I I can say it's tough at times, but um I I I don't have the patience.
SPEAKER_04So I commend you.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01And it is a balance because you are, you know, you wanted the job to be as perfect as possible uh for the client. So you're always uh and that's the point of Revive the Hive is that you're you're the one doubling back and making sure everything is perfect.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01And so um so what are what are your hopes and dreams and in your life in Myrtle Beach? Where where are you at, Iron?
SPEAKER_00Well, my dream is um is to get better um in the organization. Um moving up now to graph um the plumbing and the electrical and stuff like that. So um I can be able to have my own team and so I can teach them back what I thought, you know, um and all of that, and you know, get the the company to grow and get bigger.
SPEAKER_01So explain that aspect of it, Jason. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, first off, my ask expect expectations for Iran is is to move to be able to have uh a helper under him so he doesn't have to stand all the drywall all the time. And he can you know, but um yeah, so he's he's learning all that stuff.
SPEAKER_01But how important is that for the growth of the company like it it's it's super important.
SPEAKER_03I mean, um, you know, I don't I don't want people to stay in their position for the for a long time. So that's why we we try to create a little growth path for them. We're a small company, so it's it's a little tougher to do that, but we we do want them to move forward, we do want them to learn more things. Um we try to stay connected with them. So like if we come to a project and we and and there's some issue, a lot of times we'll pull together and we'll look at the whole thing how are we gonna do this? How are we gonna get this accomplished? And we come together and we pull from everybody's uh understanding and and and input and we and we come up with a plan. But you know, the culture is you know, I I came from a corporate a long time ago. Um, you know, they give you food, food, food, food to and food doesn't always like like I said, food doesn't always um uh uh take over a toxic environment. You know, it's more than that. It's it's it's really understanding the people.
SPEAKER_01And it's the relationships.
SPEAKER_03Yes, relationships.
SPEAKER_01And that's really important to revive the hive. I mean, um even just my experience with you uh as you and Jonathan o over the years, it's been you know, just keeping uh a great relationship because you move in into and out of, you know, positions and relationships, and so uh it just it just uh goes to show how important that really is to your company. Yes. Yeah. And I think pretty much we Nick and I have that understanding as well, because you know, there are certain seasons to every relationship, and it's important to maintain that respect always.
SPEAKER_04Um and so our season is the winter of darkness. We're about to do it.
SPEAKER_01But I mean it's really great to see um and and meet Iron and and see how your company has grown since we met you. Yes. Um and you have Chris, the designer, on there and doing the computer drawing.
SPEAKER_03So we have Nate, we'll bring bring on one day. So he's a good guy. He's a little shy.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Anything else you wanted to share with us today about Revive the Hive so people have a better understanding.
SPEAKER_03We just want to uh really thank all the listeners. We appreciate um everybody listening to us. Um, if you have questions, um let us know. You know, we'll we'll be happy to help if you run into something in your home that is a difficult problem or you can't see the vision of it. We can definitely try to bring it to life. But we've gotten a lot of calls from the radio, and we're looking forward to this relationship.
SPEAKER_01That's awesome. And I love your new website. You can check it out, revive the hive sc.com. Iran, it's so great uh to meet you.
SPEAKER_00I was I'm very happy to be here this morning and to finally meet you. Okay because we were supposed to meet at the home show. The um brothers did wanted to introduce me to you, but the time frame wasn't really much.
SPEAKER_01Okay, all right. Well, that's great. Well, I'm glad you got to come in and we got to hear from you more. And good luck to you on your growth path.
SPEAKER_04Yes. Thank you.
