I just"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":186.63,"endTime":191.22,"body":"wanted to get out there and"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":186.63,"endTime":191.22,"body":"embrace life. And for a while I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":191.22,"endTime":194.91,"body":"had this formula that really"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":191.22,"endTime":194.91,"body":"worked for me: If I worked hard"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":195.3,"endTime":198.99,"body":"and I thought positively, then"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":195.3,"endTime":198.99,"body":"things would generally fall into"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":198.99,"endTime":202.74,"body":"place. And that was success to"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":198.99,"endTime":202.74,"body":"me, you know. Things were more"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":202.74,"endTime":207.54,"body":"or less on an upward trend in my"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":202.74,"endTime":207.54,"body":"life. So in my late 20s, I felt"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":207.54,"endTime":211.68,"body":"bold enough to kind of make a"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":207.54,"endTime":211.68,"body":"cross-country move all by myself"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":211.95,"endTime":216.18,"body":"to the West Coast. And this is"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":211.95,"endTime":216.18,"body":"where the tides turned"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":216.81,"endTime":222.81,"body":"drastically. That formula just"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":216.81,"endTime":222.81,"body":"stopped working. Immediately,"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":222.9,"endTime":227.7,"body":"things became very difficult."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":222.9,"endTime":227.7,"body":"Housing was hard to find. I ran"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":227.7,"endTime":231.63,"body":"out of money very quickly. I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":227.7,"endTime":231.63,"body":"couldn't find a job in my field."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":232.17,"endTime":237.57,"body":"And now I had to do these odd"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":232.17,"endTime":237.57,"body":"jobs to survive, like walk dogs"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":237.57,"endTime":242.22,"body":"and clean friends' houses. I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":237.57,"endTime":242.22,"body":"just was getting by. And"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":242.52,"endTime":246.39,"body":"frankly, this was quite a blow"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":242.52,"endTime":246.39,"body":"to my ego. This sounds like a"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":246.39,"endTime":249.87,"body":"normal adjustment period when"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":246.39,"endTime":249.87,"body":"you move, and it would be, but"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":249.99,"endTime":257.64,"body":"it lasted over the period of ten"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":249.99,"endTime":257.64,"body":"to twelve years. There wasn't"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":257.64,"endTime":262.32,"body":"any stability. And when I did"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":257.64,"endTime":262.32,"body":"finally start something I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":262.32,"endTime":267.39,"body":"thought would be great, I got"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":262.32,"endTime":267.39,"body":"excited, I put my heart and Soul"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":267.39,"endTime":273.21,"body":"into this work, and then I got"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":267.39,"endTime":273.21,"body":"fired. I got fired three times,"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":273.21,"endTime":279.12,"body":"Doug. I think I got into like"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":273.21,"endTime":279.12,"body":"four car accidents. Oh! Ten"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":279.12,"endTime":282.57,"body":"years is a long time to stay"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":279.12,"endTime":282.57,"body":"positive when things just"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":282.63,"endTime":287.25,"body":"weren't working out. The time"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":282.63,"endTime":287.25,"body":"came when the people around me"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":287.28,"endTime":293.85,"body":"were having kids and getting"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":287.28,"endTime":293.85,"body":"married and buying houses and I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":293.85,"endTime":299.82,"body":"was single and in debt and . . ."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":293.85,"endTime":299.82,"body":"What is going on with my life?"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":300.06,"endTime":303.96,"body":"Why is nothing working out?"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":300.06,"endTime":303.96,"body":"Something must be wrong with me."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":304.83,"endTime":311.4,"body":"And I had this shame. Now, during"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":311.4,"endTime":316.68,"body":"this time period, I also was"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":311.4,"endTime":316.68,"body":"continuing to seek spiritually."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":317.31,"endTime":323.22,"body":"And the harder life got, the"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":317.31,"endTime":323.22,"body":"more feverish that need for"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":323.22,"endTime":328.59,"body":"truth became. I needed answers."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":323.22,"endTime":328.59,"body":"I had no idea how to fix what I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":328.59,"endTime":333.81,"body":"felt was so broken. I looked"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":328.59,"endTime":333.81,"body":"into Christianity and Buddhism"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":333.81,"endTime":339.06,"body":"and Judaism, and they all had"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":333.81,"endTime":339.06,"body":"wisdom, but it wasn't what I was"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":339.06,"endTime":343.47,"body":"looking for. So I kept looking."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":339.06,"endTime":343.47,"body":"And that led me to taking a"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":343.47,"endTime":348.33,"body":"community class in meditation"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":343.47,"endTime":348.33,"body":"and healing. And on the first"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":348.33,"endTime":352.29,"body":"day, our teacher said, \"You're"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":348.33,"endTime":352.29,"body":"going to be working with a"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":352.29,"endTime":356.79,"body":"healing master,\" and he meant an"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":352.29,"endTime":356.79,"body":"invisible spiritual healing"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":356.79,"endTime":359.4,"body":"master on the inner. So we"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":356.79,"endTime":359.4,"body":"wouldn't see them in the"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":359.4,"endTime":363.0,"body":"classroom. But we were supposed"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":359.4,"endTime":363.0,"body":"to intuit what they looked like"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":363.72,"endTime":368.04,"body":"and then draw them. So I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":363.72,"endTime":368.04,"body":"thought, Okay, interesting, I'll"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":368.04,"endTime":371.79,"body":"play along. Came up with a"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":368.04,"endTime":371.79,"body":"picture of who my healing master"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":371.79,"endTime":376.74,"body":"would be, and who I drew was an"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":371.79,"endTime":376.74,"body":"older Chinese gentleman from"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":376.74,"endTime":381.51,"body":"another era. He had a very"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":376.74,"endTime":381.51,"body":"interesting red hat on; long red"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":381.51,"endTime":388.98,"body":"robes; very long, kind of thin,"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":381.51,"endTime":388.98,"body":"snow-white beard. And I worked"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":388.98,"endTime":393.78,"body":"with him throughout my class."},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":388.98,"endTime":393.78,"body":"And when the class ended, I"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":393.81,"endTime":395.58,"body":"didn't think much about it after"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":393.81,"endTime":395.58,"body":"that."},{"speaker":"Doug K","startTime":396.6,"endTime":400.23,"body":"So that's a pretty"},{"speaker":"Doug K","startTime":396.6,"endTime":400.23,"body":"detailed portrait. I signed up that day"},{"speaker":"Heather Davari","startTime":512.55,"endTime":517.77,"body":"online. I was in.
