Speaker 1:

so I have noticed recently in in a an interesting way craig jones is aligning himself with people outside of jiu-jitsu. Some of you may be aware that he's out there doing some big world influencer. Things went to the ukraine did a seminar, fights and rocket launches I think as much as he's there to help the war effort, he's like you want to fire a bazooka? Ukraine is a place where I could buy some arms and just blast that shit.

Speaker 1:

Like what's the level up on Vegas? What's the level up on Texas? We'll go to Ukraine buy a tank.

Speaker 2:

Automatic weapons just aren't technically scratching that itch for me anymore.

Speaker 1:

No, I need bazookas. But then what was interesting is he's kind of aligned himself with this combat karate thing, right. And so I saw him at a dinner with George St Pierre, buzz Rooten and a bunch of shakes. Now, more recently, now I'm putting together a few different dots here. Now here's the thing I actually do not that's what you're famous for. I do not follow Craig on social media, right. But I had two people who have nothing to do with BJJ talk to me about Craig Jones.

Speaker 1:

I'm like what the hell is going on? My mum sent me a link to Australian Broadcasting Corporation ABC because my mum watches ABC and it was an article about Craig Jones going to Ukraine. It says Australian Jiu-Jitsu champion helps with the war effort in Ukraine. My mom's like how good's that? And I'm like, oh, my mom's telling me about Craig Jones. How the fuck is this possible? Then Mitch Mayhew, who was originally the coach of Mitchell Hooper World's Strongest man, also my coach in Strongman for a while, there chatting to him randomly, and he's like, oh, how's this? Craig Jones fella, he's a larrikin. I fucking love that shit. I'm like what the hell?

Speaker 2:

This guy's not into Jiu-Jitsu in any way right, he's crossing over from like the hip hop charts to the top 40 charts.

Speaker 1:

He's starting to get some awareness right and so, like credit to him, his effort in marketing himself and becoming famous. It's working for him. Here's the interesting thing. This is the thing that hit me. I'm just sitting there eating dinner, boom, it came to me. The Oracle just channeled it from the universe. Craig Jones will do a Khabib slash Don King slash Dana White. This is my thing If I was Craig Jones, because I could be wrong and he might not give a shit. He might die of a fucking drug overdose.

Speaker 1:

Who knows, go out like warny just in a sauna with some, some ladies, some attractive ladies over in thailand um wait did. There's a house some warning went out. Yeah, he died of a heart, a massive heart attack in thailand.

Speaker 2:

In a sauna with ladies.

Speaker 1:

No, he wasn't in a sauna, but they'd been doing saunas.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

As you do when you're in Thailand. I don't know, and he'd been partying.

Speaker 2:

Right on, yeah, blades of glory.

Speaker 1:

Blades of glory. Yeah, Like the true legend that he was. But moving on from that, Craig is now friends with some pretty influential people. He has very openly cut his ties with Moa Sim If you catch craig three years ago, jasim mo just him. Yeah, he was mo's boy I saw him at the adcc. He got very preferential treatment at the adcc, like mo was really loving craig and if you look, at everyone does right yeah sure, like he's a charismatic guy, but now he's like like no man, fuck the ADCC.

Speaker 2:

Is he like, are you saying like he won't compete at ADCC again? No, no, he's like, why would I? I make?

Speaker 1:

more money. I make 20 times that amount of money on DVDs, and you know downloads.

Speaker 2:

I mean it's true, but I mean it's still the most prestigious right. It is.

Speaker 1:

It. It is the most prestigious and I wouldn't take away from that. But this is where I'm going to say it will be like a PFL or a one FC. I believe Craig has enough connections now and he is moving in a way. Now he could have his own jujitsu fight organization, so to speak. He could raise the money. Probably not ever Titan, he'd probably go straight to you know Viagra. He'd go straight straight to you know Viagra. He'd go straight to Pfizer, you know he'd get that money and he'd be making the matches and he'd be the new Dana White. If I was Craig Jones, minus the drugs, that's what I'd be doing.

Speaker 1:

With his influence, his power and the circles he's moving in, he could easily raise the money to book a stadium in the Emirates, pay the athletes to fly over, pay everyone not that much, but enough to get them out there more than what they get at the ADCC and totally snag that. Originally I was thinking no, the UFC is going to try, and no, no, no. If we really think about it, like if we look at Jake Paul, right, he's like oh, yeah, I'm going to go to the PFL. He's not fighting in the PFL, he's a matchmaker for the PFL. He's trying to use his celebrity. You just bring more attention there. Yeah Right, no-transcript. And not that he necessarily will, but his opportunity is to become a Don King, a Dana White, and do it in submission grappling Wow that's a big premonition.

Speaker 2:

Do you think that he might be moving towards maybe doing something with karate combat?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, it's basically like MMA really, but they're featuring jiu-jitsu. Yeah, they're featuring. So maybe they're like yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like they're seeing maybe how one championship or putting on multidisciplinary events could be a thing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it wouldn't surprise me if he then leverages that as high as he can go and then he cuts his ties with them and then he's I've got my own thing under the next year and I'm running it in mexico or whatever like he's.

Speaker 1:

I think you can see that different people have different opportunities and people do apprenticeships in different ways. He's not at b team that often. You know like it's being run by the other guys who are there. Yeah, so you know power to him. But I think what will be interesting is to see the professional fight league which will be no G submission grappling with Craig Jones as the new Dana White.

Speaker 2:

Wait, you're not saying he'll be affiliated with PFL. No, no, no.

Speaker 1:

He will create that. He'll create the organization that does pay you. It won't be that much.

Speaker 2:

They'll be making way more Better than what's out there.

Speaker 1:

It'll be better than that. So you're like well, yeah, I'd get paid five grand a fight. Do you know what I mean? Cool, yeah, I like it If, good, you start putting on more fight cards yeah, you've got all these people going into it. There's all these things to indicate that is possible now yeah but hey, for the 40 people who are listening to this, you heard it first when do you expect we might?

Speaker 2:

when do you expect such a thing would take form? You got like a two years, two years two years.

Speaker 1:

So after this adcc, I think craig is making the moose. He's already talked about it costs this much to book this stadium. I could already pay to do that. We could pay each fighter X amount. He's already putting it out there in the world, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And he's hanging out with Saudi sheiks. You know what I mean. He's hanging out with people with money. He's there and they're like, oh, craig Jones, look at this guy, yeah, I like it. Yeah, there. And they're like, oh, craig jones, look at this guy, yeah, so I like it. Yeah, I think it's entirely possible, yeah, that the business of jujitsu could go that way. And he's the guy with enough charisma and enough celebrity pool within both the mma and jujitsu community to make that happen. And if I was craig jones, that's exactly what the fuck I would do. Fucker, let's see. Fucking, look out predictions the oracle has spoken well see if we're wrong people.

Speaker 1:

I've got two years to be proved right or wrong. But if he doesn't die of a huge cocaine overdose in a sauna with ladyboys in thailand, it could happen.
