00:18 - James Quinn

Hello and welcome to a very special update of the Relaxing Piano Playlist, with your host, James Quinn.

In this brief episode, I’m going to quickly go over some quick details which I’ll explain in just a moment.

So first and foremost, I can now confirm to you that Episode 1 of Series 5 of the Relaxing Piano Playlist will be released on Friday the 19th of April. As before there will be the same tradition of a number of short pieces from a whole variety of composers, covering all the different musical periods from the Baroque to the Classical, the Romantic and the 20th Century periods and even to the present day.

Just like in the previous series, I will do another special episode where you will get to hear a few more of my own original compositions. I would like to make a “call to composers”, to invite any of you who may be pianists yourselves to share some of your own music, which fits in the theme of relaxing piano music. You may like to either send in a recording to me or a score should you wish for me to perform and record this for you, to share it with our audience.

If you would like to compose something exclusively for this podcast, then you’re very welcome, as I would love to try and break ground with contemporary music in this series. In order to get in touch with me about this, just head on over to my website at the following address: www.jamesquinnpiano.com and use the Contact page to do just that. I will also continue to do some more slow movements from piano concertos, and you hear the first of these in Episode 2.

In just a couple of months time, I will be releasing my podcast as a Video Series format on my YouTube channel, and I will reveal the date of this very soon early on in Series 5.

I did a piano recital a few weeks ago back in late March where I raised money for two charities in which I was amazed to raise close to a £1,000! I hope to have the video of this uploaded to my YouTube channel very soon, so you can see me play and hear my programme. I was also joined with four special guest singers who I’ve known very well collectively for 10-20 years between them, so you can see me in my other capacity as an accompanist.

Just before I leave you, I like to very quickly give you some very exciting news. As of this moment, we’ve reached an incredible number of over 92,500 downloads of this podcast. As you can expect, I really am deeply grateful for everything that each and every one of you who supports my podcast, as it really gives me the motivation to keep going. The prospect of quite possibly seeing the magic number of 100,000 seems more closer than before, so I feel pretty certain we can get there.

On that note, I hope you all had a very relaxing and enjoyable Spring and Easter break over the last few weeks, and I look forward very much to welcoming you all back to the first episode of Series 5 which will be released on Friday the 19th of April. Until then, take very good care of yourselves and each other, and stay safe. This has been the Relaxing Piano Playlist with James Quinn, so until then all the very best and farewell for now. Thank you.
