I am blown away at this. So that movie Back Rooms, which came out this weekend, made 81.5 million. Number one of the box office this weekend. By the way, that means The Mandalorian only hung on for one weekend. I told you last weekend.

SPEAKER_01

You said it sucked, and a lot of people. No, no, I didn't say it sucked. I'm sorry, it was average.

SPEAKER_00

It could have easily just been on Disney Plus. It did not need to go to theaters.

SPEAKER_01

It did not need to be a $60 adventure.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

That's true. You're right. So his backrooms movie. What's weird is that like Gavin's 12 and begging to see this.

SPEAKER_00

And I know that it's because his buddy Lucas is super into it too. And the two of them, like, they're they're planning to go see this. Like, well, they're planning to get me to take them to go see this. I know that.

SPEAKER_01

Of course, of course. Somebody texted and said, I believe a popular YouTuber that made smaller movies made this, and I think that's why it's so popular. Now that would make sense. That would make sense for Gavin's world. Uh Luciana says, My daughter is 12 and begged to go see it. So same thing as Gavin, right? Yeah. And she loved it. I still have no idea what the heck we watched. Thanks, Luciana. There's this one. My cousin took her kids and they loved it. She did not enjoy.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so this has got to be just like what they watch, which is these YouTube videos of these people walking through video games that makes me personally nauseous to watch.

SPEAKER_01

And then this one, Backrooms, is so weird. I can't even explain it. We left not even understanding what it was about. Except for the uh the the the electric bill, which apparently was too dang high, and the light lights are always flickering. That's the one thing I got from there.

SPEAKER_00

I do love Luciana sent another text. She goes, We went to watch it. Wish I didn't.

SPEAKER_01

Still can't figure out what it was about. So is it because the there really isn't a plot, but is it a lot of like mini things that are happening? I'm just curious.

SPEAKER_00

I don't, I don't. I you know what it is, I feel like not your wheelhouse, no, like your demographic. As a parent, sometimes you suffer through things you don't want to. Yes. Like a dance recital at the Clemens Center over the weekend. Oh yes. Um, no, I'm kidding. I'm sure they were all precious and wonderful, and it was the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. I bet. That was just a joke. Maybe not my cup of tea, but that's all right. You you drink from that cup as a parent from time to time. You go, I'll endure. Yeah. Right? Yeah. I'm gonna sleep.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yes. But this reminds me of something else. I want to play you a a piece of audio in a second. How parenting is just basically taking ordinary stuff and zhuzhing it up. That's all it is. Yes. Okay, hold on a second. I'm gonna play you something next that you're gonna steal on you.
