Well, we are increasing the birthday wheel yet another week. So what are we up to for next week now? Because nobody called in ten minutes and six seconds.
SPEAKER_01Six hundred and thirty-six dollars.
SPEAKER_02Okay, there you go. You now know next week could be a big week for you. We were going through some ways that you might be able to help yourself from uh getting, you know, a tick bite uh or getting your pet one. It's just an epidemic around here. We've we work with multiple people that have gone through this now. Already just this deal, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Just this year. Like this isn't just like in their entire life. This year it's happened to a couple coworkers. And yeah, I don't want Lyme's disease. I know somebody, actually, we know a couple people who've gotten Lyme's disease. Yeah. And the backlash of these ticks is insane.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, if you missed it, you can catch it on demand. Uh, just go to either the Wink 106 app, Twin Tears Magic app, or My Radio Jams app. It'll be on the Scott Nelly on demand. So you'll be able to get just little a couple little things that you can do around your house.
SPEAKER_01One of them that we received in our text line. So when you download either the Wink 106 app, the Twin Tears Magic app, or My Radio Jams app, is that we get texts throughout the morning about just everything. Yeah. And one of these is a kind of, I think, a genius little hack. It says two of my family members have already gotten ticks and we have to treat the yard, so that'll be fun. People have also said to put duct tape like sticky side out on your ankles to catch them before they crop your leg. I don't know if it works though.
SPEAKER_02I don't know either. How do you get it to stick together? You know, if it's the wrong side out. Like if the sticky side's on the outside. Well, I guess you could fold it around. I see how you're doing it. I just put that together in my head.
SPEAKER_01You just wrap it around. Why he's not the doctor of the show. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Then Pony Joe.
SPEAKER_01Pony Joe just said, I got tested when I took off a tick for Lyme, but the worst is the anaplasmosis that a tick carries. What the hell's that? I have no clue.
SPEAKER_02Now you're giving us a whole new medical thing going on today.
SPEAKER_01Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne bacterial disease spread primarily by the bite of an infected black-legged tick.
SPEAKER_02Oh, those the black-legged ticks.
SPEAKER_01Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle pain, chills, typically starting one to two weeks after a bite. Oh, it's right the outside.
SPEAKER_02So you forgot you got bit, and then you're sitting there going, I feel like death.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. Um, they said it is highly treatable with antibiotics like doxycycline, but early detection is vital. Yeah. Well. Hint that the truth. Let me play you this audio. Yeah. You're a server. You're you're not servers aren't rich, you know, but once in a while you get that big fat tip. They're like, yes. Like I've gotten a hundred dollar tip before.
SPEAKER_02I felt Oh, that's gotta feel great. Oh my god, I felt like I mean the bill was four thousand dollars, but either way.
SPEAKER_01Right. Well, this person got a big fat tip, but then got fired.
SPEAKER_00She received a $700 tip on a $30 tab from a regular customer that hadn't been in a while. She didn't notice it until after he left. When she took it to the manager, the manager told her to put zero in the tab because that was just too much money to hand out. Clearly, she was upset. Her manager then said to her that she's here to do a job, and if she can't do it, then she needs to leave. My daughter got herself together, completed her shift, and at the end of the shift, they then told her that they could give her 20%. So they gave her $6 on the $700 tip. Today she was gonna go in, which she did, they just fired her. So she's like, I don't want to leave because why all of a sudden do I have a $700 tip and I'm fired the next day? So they tell her that they're calling the police, and she's like, good, call the police because you're stealing my money.
SPEAKER_01I also want to note this the customer even wrote underneath $700. Like they wrote out. Okay.
SPEAKER_02You answered my question because my first thought is the customer hadn't been in in a while, maybe a little bit older, maybe somebody that doesn't quite have everything connecting up top anymore, and they were sitting there going, they didn't know what they did. Because then I would feel as though she was taking advantage of somebody, you know, like I meant seven dollars or you know, even seventy dollars.
SPEAKER_01Even even the customer said, Hey, I only have a charge of $38. I was expecting to see $700 on my credit card and it's not there. Who who is it that's up on top that is gonna steal her money? Because that's exactly what it sounds like. Yeah, I get it. You might not have $700 right then and there to pay her out.
SPEAKER_02Sure.
SPEAKER_01That's that's a pretty common thing in a restaurant, especially with the.
SPEAKER_02Well, I didn't know. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, you you have to like uh like till the money. So what happens, we would have a cash register that we would use, and after I we would do it, it's called a drop. So after $200, we would put $200 in a back and it would go through a slot and it went to like some safe or something. But now people don't really carry cash.
SPEAKER_02No, usually it's on card. I thought though those would show up like digitally in your check or something like that if it was, you know, were non-cash. I I guess I never thought of the back end of this.
SPEAKER_01Oh, no, no, no. You so they have to pay you out your tips for the night. So what would happen is uh we would all stand in line. This is so cattle cattle-like, but we would stand in line and our manager Eric would hand us all. He's like, Okay, you got cashed out. You you we you print a receipt, and the receipt would say, like, okay, Allie made $138 in tips tonight, and he would give you $138 in tips. Okay. So I can understand if there wasn't $700 on hand that day.
SPEAKER_02Well, make the agreement then and say, hey, we're gonna have to go to the bank and actually get this. Yes. So we'll get it for you by tomorrow.
SPEAKER_01But it sounds like they were trying to pocket her $700 because they fired her when she came back the next day.
SPEAKER_02The way you're describing it now, I absolutely agree. So how does she get her $700?
SPEAKER_01At this point, which I'm so glad this has gone viral, I assume somebody from the higher up and even the customer complaining saying, I'm expecting a $700 fee on my card. So with the customer's help, thank God, then I think that she's gonna get her money because of the case.
SPEAKER_02Thank God that customer wrote something because I would have immediately gone to that was a mistake.
SPEAKER_01Right. But if this didn't go viral, I don't know if she would have ever sold her money.
SPEAKER_02No, I don't think she would have. I think you're right. Whether whether it was somebody further up that because you're right. It where would it go? It's going somewhere and somebody's getting something. Yeah, somebody's pocketing. I hope she gets offered her job back and the person that fired her gets fired.
SPEAKER_01I wouldn't even want it at this point.
SPEAKER_02Nah, you're right.
