Just so you guys are ready for this, this is gonna be a hot week. Kids are gonna be wearing shorts to school and it's just hot.

SPEAKER_00

I'm trying to think, do we have anything coming up this week besides a hundred and six days of summer? But do we have anything coming up this week? Because my girlfriend's coming in from Columbus. So I was thinking, wait a second, is there anything that we have to do that I will be taking her to? I think shockingly at this point right now, we are actually in the clear.

SPEAKER_01

It gets busy again right after, but it's like, is this reset week?

SPEAKER_00

I I guess so. Yeah, the next thing that we have is party in the park last Saturday of the month, fireworks display, thanks to Gary's uh body body shop and towing. But yeah, you're right. We do have a couple. Well, next week is Father's Day.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and don't forget also, you'll have uh the Salem Six Hour at the Glen coming. That'll be another one so there's gonna be a lot happening.

SPEAKER_00

That's the last weekend. That's the same weekend as party in the park.

SPEAKER_01

Can anyone else agree with this? It's now time to take this week and breathe. It has been an insane few weeks. I mean, just nuts.

SPEAKER_00

One thing I do want to say, I had never seen anything really like this before. When we were at Watkins Glen on Saturday for a bike night, they had a bunch of different things going on. They had the airstreams, they also had the GNCC, which is the motocross. Oh, yeah. So we drove over to the track. It was thousands, thousands of people. Really? Everybody from like these little two-year-olds who are like to adult. And the track goes all the way throughout. It was one of the coolest things ever.

SPEAKER_01

I give credit to the kids that can do that. I would be too terrified to let my kids do that. Is that sound weird? Like I'm I'm I'm like, wow, you have an ability. I am terrified. Can't let my kid do that.

SPEAKER_00

Not at all. But next event that they have, you guys should go. It is something that, especially if you have kids, your kids will love, love, love it. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

I was just playing for you, and then I got a story for you. I was just playing for you a second ago. The message we got about uh somebody that wasn't able to use, well, this all stems from the cashier going, I'm going outside for a cigarette, I'm feeling kind of bitchy. I don't know why. That's great. You the honesty of that, the just raw passion and truth is really funny.

SPEAKER_00

I'm feeling kind of bitchy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Going out for a cigarette. Uh, but this is really funny because uh we had also played the message about how one customer, they witnessed one customer lose their mind, scream like they were in a horror movie because they weren't allowed to use coupons. And then I came over to this. 1739 says, My sister used to do extreme couponing. Remember when that was huge, like 15, 20 years ago? Everyone did it, yes. Or you tried and then they caught on real quick and made it real difficult for people. Now she has a basement full of stuff, hasn't used it in years. Well, yeah. I always wondered the outcome of that stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Me too, because then do you put it on Facebook Marketplace and do you put it up there for like like if you have palm olive or Dawn Dish soap, then I think you could probably resell it and at least.

SPEAKER_01

Sounds like she hasn't, though, which means is it now expired? I mean, okay, toilet paper's probably not gonna expire, but right, Dawn Dish soap soap I would not think would expire. Wouldn't it crystallize after a while? I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Is it I don't know, because whenever, and I've said this before, and I'll say it again. When I go to estate sales, I'm that person that I buy the Windex, the bleach, the vinegar, all the cleaning supplies.

SPEAKER_01

It's like an ounce left for four dollars.

SPEAKER_00

No, you get like a half a bottle of the colour. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

One estate sale, oh bullcrap, whatever estate sales you're going to are way better than the ones I see.

SPEAKER_00

I just went to the one in Campbell, I got Barkeeper's Friend, which is one of my favorite things, and what was the other thing that I purchased? Plus, you can get steel wool. Okay, again, just hear me out. If you've ever had mice in your house, then you use steel wool to block it, like put it in holes. Yeah. So I always get steel wool and just shove it in there.

SPEAKER_01

And usually there's like one little tiny wad. Problem is my estate sales that I see, they're $14.99 for that little wad. I'm like, what do you get? I don't know what's going on.

SPEAKER_00

You have to go on the last day, the 50% off day. All right, tell me your story. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

So uh last Thursday, I was uh out with one of our sales guys who we bust his nuts all the time. His name's Jeff. And uh all of a sudden, we're out we were doing a quick hit broadcast. Nothing, nothing big. And a guy he knew because he knows everybody.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And well he's lived here forever. He knows everybody of a certain age, okay? Yeah so this gentleman of a certain age came over, and when I say a certain age, older than me, yeah and uh came over, those two instantly knew each other. The guy referenced that uh he goes, Oh, you're Scott with Scott Daly. I said, Yeah. He goes, so uh Allie's old house. Yes, okay, okay, not the one right before this one, the one you used to own before that one.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I own by myself.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, got it.

SPEAKER_01

Uh you've always wanted to live in a haunted house. Did you know that they think that house is haunted?

SPEAKER_00

I never had anything like really spooky happen, but like, how would it be haunted though?

SPEAKER_01

Because the person that used to live there was found dead on the couch after three days. Yes. It's good you are hearing this now. The smell must have been terrible. He tells this story about how, because they're all connected. This age group is all connected, how they called a cop buddy. They went to do a well check because and I quote, they say, his feet haven't moved in three days from the couch. Oh. And apparently, and I've I couldn't wait to tell you this. And then I forgot we got caught up in different things. Oh, I know, I was all injured, remember? Yeah. That took like, you know, front stage. But uh then all of a sudden it came back, and I'm like, oh yeah, this is great because you've always wanted to remember you almost bought that haunted house, the murder house in Corning? Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So this house was on not Reynolds, but it was close to that Reynolds.

SPEAKER_01

It was close to that area.

SPEAKER_00

It was in that area where it was the Nyrider case. The woman died, and it looked like it was a suicide. So it looked like, can I say how, or maybe I shouldn't? They okay, well, they they uh basically so it looks like it was a unaliving, if you will. Yes. It looks like it was an unaliving, and come to find out it was her husband and daughter, yeah, who was an accomplice to the crime, who ended up murdering her and then staged it like it was a stage.

SPEAKER_01

She should have gone outside and had a cigarette that she was feeling bitchy. That might have saved her.

SPEAKER_00

And so after the, of course, after the woman had passed, then I went to the house. The house was gonna be going up, I believe, on like the auction block is what I thought was gonna happen. And I went to look and I was totally peeking in the windows. Her purse was still sitting there. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and and I remember that house there was there were like pipes burst and everything else. It would have been a major overhaul.

SPEAKER_00

Totally, but I wanted to call it the Dead and Breakfast.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I remember this. This is this is a memory from like 15 years ago.

SPEAKER_00

But the neighbor came over when I was peeping in the windows and he said, I just want to let you know. I I he first he was like, Wait, are you the girl from the radio that wants to buy this house? I said, That's me. That's me. And he said, I just want to give you a heads up. The pipes have burst. We heard like the of water. Yeah. So he's like, Your water is gonna be your biggest problem with this.

SPEAKER_01

And that was a problem I just didn't want to- Also the ghosts walking the halls.

SPEAKER_00

And the black mold. Yeah, I just didn't want to chase that problem.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, but that's uh so your old house had a uh a dead individual on it who was on the couch for three days. Apparently the cop went in, opened the door and goes, boom, yeah, he's gone.

SPEAKER_00

And then it became yours. I want to know which cop was it. Was it Glover? Was it Jamie?

SPEAKER_01

This may be an even older batch than that. You'd have to ask Jeff about uh uh about more of the details because this sounds like it happened many years ago.

SPEAKER_00

What you're saying is I could have had a dead-end breakfast and doesn't have to be.

SPEAKER_01

You could have and you just didn't know. Although something they probably don't advertise all the time. Like in New York State, you have to, if you believe the house is haunted, you have to disclose it. Yeah. How much do you have to disclose if someone passed in the house? Not murdered, just they passed on the couch. I don't think you have to. They passed on Friday and got checked on Tuesday.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think you have to disclose it because I looked at a house once where a guy had a heart attack in the house, and the only reason I found it was there was like an article about it. Yeah. Other than that, mm mm I would have.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, that's just the cycle of life. Murder's a little different. Don't get me wrong, but you know, anyway, you may have had a haunted house and it just didn't, you know, I really could have didn't burble up while you were living there.

SPEAKER_00

I could have monopolized on that. Yes.
