You need to read this again and refresh, folks. Uh and I want you to listen very close to the words that Allie says says here. Says she says. Uh because there's a piece of that's that there's a certain line in what you're about to read that has triggered this thought in my head.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Was it wrong for me to make Father's Day plans without consulting my wife first? Father's Day being two weeks away, my two brothers called me and asked me if we all wanted to get our families together and let's celebrate the day all together. My brother Andy said he'd host the party. So I said, Great! And that was that. When I told my wife about the plans, she got really mad at me for not calling her first to run the plans by her. She didn't have a problem with the plans. She just wanted to be a part of making them. I thought this was crazy and brought up that she's never asked me if I'm okay with the plans she makes on a regular basis, let alone Mother's Day. She told me it's different, but I just can't explain why.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Now the ending right there, it's different, but I can't explain why. Triggers me to go. She's got an issue with w either one of the brothers or one of the sisters or somebody in the family that's gonna be there. Maybe it's it I there's just something that says it. Read the first line one more time. The very first line.
SPEAKER_01The Father's Day is two weeks away, or was it wrong for me to make Father's Day plans without consulting?
SPEAKER_02Well, after the Father's Day is two weeks away. Uh okay.
SPEAKER_01Father's Day is two weeks away. My two brothers called me and asked me if we all wanted to get our families together to celebrate that day. My brother Andy said he'd host the party. Okay.
SPEAKER_02So and he's gonna host it from there. So uh my two brothers called me. This is different than, you know, uh you saying, um, hey, our buddy Tony called and they're gonna do a big bonfire, and I said we're all going. And she's like, you know, I just wanted to relax. Yeah, right, right. This this is very different. This is like it's it's a family thing, so you have to go. There's an obligation that's attached to this. And well, anyway, I'm gonna come over to Kimberly because she sent us a voice message. Well, go ahead, what do you think?
SPEAKER_00Hey, good morning, Scott and Allie. It's interesting because you're just reading that situation where the you can say good morning. Good morning, Scott. Yeah, and so when she's like, oh, he should have consulted with her first, she's either very controlling or I agree with Scott. There's somebody that she doesn't um get along with because it doesn't sound like she was making plans, and it also doesn't sound like she had a problem with the plans being made, but you have to run it by her first. But if the shoe was on the other foot, she's like, No, I don't have to run anything by you because it's different. Girl, go sit down. Go sit down. She's controlling. No, not you. I was saying that the wife needs to go sit down.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, God, I love her.
SPEAKER_00I love her too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, okay, so they there is some truth to what she's saying there. This feels different than just being controlling.
SPEAKER_01Now, the family thing, you had said she doesn't like somebody in the family.
SPEAKER_02I think there's an issue somewhere in that she has not told her husband about.
SPEAKER_01Do you think that if she would have known, she would have tried to change the plans and go, oh, well, I actually have plans for us for Father's Day?
SPEAKER_02No, I think honestly, and maybe uh I'm not a woman. I know that's shocking. But isn't there some truth to the fact that even when you have, all right, I'll do this delicately because I don't want to put you in an uncomfortable position. Sure. In a previous relationship, to my knowledge, there was one family member you did not connect with at all. Correct. And sometimes, but you still had to endure.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, sometimes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Sometimes isn't it nice to get that heads up to go?
SPEAKER_01Oh, like mentally prepare. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right.
SPEAKER_02I understand. This is important. So that's why I'm thinking it's somebody in the family.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I get it. Okay.
SPEAKER_02So, like, I'll give you an idea. I'll give you a great example. The Crown Jewels uh had told Tiffany, she goes, Hey, any plans for 4th of July? You know, meaning like a cookout or something. And apparently it was Tiffany or somebody said, Well, we could all go to Nani's and do a cookout there. And I go, or they could all come to our house and we could do a cookout where I'm more comfortable just being at home. Yeah, okay. You see, you can you you get a chance to pre-arrange unless there's something else going on.
SPEAKER_01Now I can, okay, I can see that it might be a family member, but I also can see, because I realize now more and more as time goes on, how controlling I am about my plans. And and I say that because I do always make plans. And I I I try to be respectful to Zach and say, but mine's more like, hey, was talking to Elena and we're thinking about doing X, Y, and Z. As opposed to like if he was to just come out and be like, we're having dinner with Lucas on Tuesday, I'd be like, hold up. So I understand the controlling part too. For some reason. But if you did the same thing, it's okay. I don't get that. I don't get it either, and it's my brain. And that's not fair. It's not.
SPEAKER_02Actually, good for you for saying that. Look at 7453. They said she needs to get over it. It's Father's Day. He made a plan, period.
SPEAKER_01Is that that's true? I think for Father's Day, you get to do what you want. You're the dad, you know?
SPEAKER_02Well, I don't even say he wants to do it. It seems like the respectful thing to do. Not everybody is like, oh, okay, lots to all family, you know, get together. Sometimes it's just like, well, that's what's expected. And since somebody put that out there, that's what we'll do.
SPEAKER_012457, she's the jerk, not him. Controlling the boss, how stupid I pick my battles. Yes. Yes. I and and this is where like the Father's Day thing is. I think you're right. No matter what, they should absolutely do what he planned.
SPEAKER_02But there's something more there. And that's what I want to know.
SPEAKER_01It's the other, other every day or weekend plans that I'm like, don't tell me what to do. Oh my!
SPEAKER_02But you can tell me what to do.
