I told you the story of uh growing up in Buffalo and uh Barb Brown who lived a couple street uh a couple doors down. My mom and Barb became pretty close. They were, you know, like coffee in the morning buddies and all that. Cute. And uh big age gap and all that stuff. Barb You said Barb was younger than your mom. Oh yes. Barb was younger at least by 20 years, maybe 30 years, to be honest with you. Because I think, let's see, my mom around this time would have been in her 40s. I think Barb would have been like well, maybe it wasn't that huge. It was enough of a of an age gap that you're like, oh, you're not just hanging out with one of your girls, like this is one of your golden girls. Well, my mom wasn't a gold, it was a difference. Let's go at least 20 years.
SPEAKER_00It's just so funny because when you're younger, you really don't get age because everybody seems older, you know? And then as you're as an adult, you're like, oh, now I understand.
SPEAKER_01Well, yeah, and it's gotta be about 20 years. And I told you how, you know, she had a wild, uh, a little bit of a wild spirit.
SPEAKER_00And um Barb sounds like a wild name.
SPEAKER_01Barb, well, yeah. But at the time, you know, and uh I she got me a boob cake for my 16th birthday in Babs. You were a little little little shocked at this. You were like, 16? Keep in mind, it was 1987. We were all older in the 80s than we really were. Sure. Okay, so when I was 16 in the in the in the in uh 1987, but the reality to it is somehow in the 80s, even everybody looked older than they were. That's true. So we I was more like 26 in 87 instead of 16.
SPEAKER_00Every 20-some-year-old in any 80s sitcom looks like they're 45. It's wild to look.
SPEAKER_01Well, then we go over to 3504 and they say, I remember my brother getting a boob cake. I think he was uh 16 too. It must have been a rite of passage for for boys in a brief moment.
SPEAKER_00I just cannot imagine my brother receiving a boob cake from a neighbor.
SPEAKER_01Well, let me tell you.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm thinking in my head.
SPEAKER_01I do believe I remember that we had to consume the boobs prior to my father getting home, who was not as wild and free of a spirit as my mother was. Right, right. So you had Betty and Barb, which does sound like we're casting for the Golden Girls phase two, but you had Betty and Barb, who were, you know, they they had a good sense of humor and a little wild streak. And then you had my father, who was pretty straight down the line.
SPEAKER_00But two boobs are really, it's gonna be a long time to get through two boobs.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't a huge cake. It wasn't, I mean, it wasn't.
SPEAKER_00What you have to do is, and in order for Lee to at least get a piece, is that you have to eat like kind of around it. So you got you have to eat the nipple first.
SPEAKER_01Which I believe was a cherry. I believe it was a cherry cut in the half.
SPEAKER_00Oh, Barb Brown, you wild minks. I think it was a cherry cut in half. I really do.
SPEAKER_01One for each boob.
SPEAKER_00And then you have to cut down the sides, and then you cut over the top. So that would be- You're really analyzing this.
SPEAKER_01I don't know how we dug into it.
SPEAKER_00By the time Lee gets home, it's just two squares. And he's gonna be like, What's the two squares?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'll take the vanilla, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, right, right, right, exactly. Oh, wait. One final question about the boob cake.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, this is come on, this is a long time ago. I'm trying to it was just funny seeing this thing sitting on the kitchen table.
SPEAKER_00Was one boob chocolate, one boob vanilla?
SPEAKER_01I don't remember. I mean, come on, it was 1987. I'm just curious. I don't I don't remember.
SPEAKER_00I just think that Lee should have gotten a slice, but he just didn't know what he was eating.
SPEAKER_01I'm pretty sure he got something, but uh mortified. That's what he got.
SPEAKER_00But no, because you guys covered it up first. Uh yes. Uh uh.
SPEAKER_01I I just seem to remember that being like not able to just be in all its glory on the table when my dad got it home.
SPEAKER_00He was uh He didn't get a cherry. He was a touch strength. He he lost on this. One thing if you've been listening to the Knot for Air podcast, is and this is Scott and I's podcast uh after the show, about a half hour, 40 minutes that we dive into other stuff. Well, you have been doing this like kind of warmer upper thing. Yeah, I want to keep the you know, Allie's brain going here. So I'm gonna warm you up here with these It's always an adventure too with her. I know nothing about the solar system. That's what we've walked away with. Every stinking time. I'm gonna give you three warmer Unless it has a song attached to it. And then you remember everything with it. No, that's not true. If you listen to the podcast, you notice that I messed it up.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's right, you did.
SPEAKER_00So, no, I really don't know anything about the solar system. So I'm gonna give you three warmer-up questions for the morning, okay? Okay. And everyone, you can answer these, you can answer them on a text.
SPEAKER_01But these aren't necessarily trivia questions. These are okay, be ready.
SPEAKER_00Just warmer-up or questions. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01Okay, go.
SPEAKER_00You're backing out of a parking space. Barely bump another car. No one saw it, and it barely left a mark. Do you leave a note or just keep driving? Keep driving.
SPEAKER_01I hate to say it, but probably, but the right thing to do, because I just talked to last night, Coach Melissa for Lydia's team was telling us her brand new, brand new expedition. Yeah. Somebody with white paint ripped up the side of her car. Didn't even know it. She didn't even know it until they were washing the car. Her husband goes, What's this all about? Which is such the classic husband line. And uh, and I mean, she's like, I was just so and no note. And that was actually a topic discussion last night for a minute before the kids started playing, was like there was no note. And it's like, technically, I think you're supposed to leave a note.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And with this, I've already gotten out of the car to inspect it. I have to leave a note.
SPEAKER_01Let me tell you what Lee would do, my father. He'd leave a note. You and I driving off.
SPEAKER_00Then we have you're out at the bar on a Friday night. You spot the boss's 18-year-old son getting hammered. Do you say anything to the boss?
SPEAKER_01Nope. I don't know. It depends. We've had relationships with bosses at different levels over the years. If you're real tight with the boss, then you can say something. You can be like, whoa, did you know that?
SPEAKER_00Well, you don't think Brent was getting hammered.
SPEAKER_01You don't even say, Did you know? You come at it like this, you go, how was Brent on Sunday? Was he moving a little slow? And then that opens the door, you know, because the boss might be like, And that's a two-day hangover since you saw him on Friday.
SPEAKER_00That's right.
SPEAKER_01Be like, oh yeah, that was rough, you know, whatever the case may be. Because here's the thing I would say, you know what? I would honestly do something really smart. Um, if it looked like he was getting anywhere near a car or anything like that, I would either notify the parents or I'd go up to him and be like, dude, you come with me.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, because and this is now this is getting a little slightly s more serious. I know. Because he's 18, he's underage.
SPEAKER_01Number one, number two, see, it's not my place to discipline him, but I don't I don't want him getting hurt.
SPEAKER_00This right, and it's this could be the beginning of a problem. Yeah, well, that's I know I know somebody in this almost exact same situation, and at a at a young age, it's becoming a problem.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, I'm just saying though, it's like I'm not gonna reprimand you, I'm not gonna lecture you, but I'm not gonna let you get hurt.
SPEAKER_00Right, exactly, because I think that you would want to be told.
SPEAKER_01All that's stemming from do you tell the boss.
SPEAKER_00Right? Like if it was your kids, wouldn't you want to be told? Yeah, exactly. You're on a long road trip, and nobody wants to be the bad guy. But you know what, Scott? Be the hero. Anyway, you're on a long road trip. You stop at a gas station for a number two. You clogged the toilet. Do you tell them on the way out or just leave?
SPEAKER_01Hell no, out the door. See ya!
