Alright, we got one more day where it's gonna be the a very strong likelihood of some strong storms at some point passing through the area. Tough to pinpoint exactly, you know, how and when, but you see them at different points.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of storms, did you see the picture that's been floating of Big Boy and Waverly when the lightning was coming behind it?
SPEAKER_01I knew somebody would get a picture like that because we were we were actually sitting here talking about it yesterday up on the roof of the radio station. And we're like, we because you could see the clouds beginning to roll. It was ironic that it was within 15 minutes after Big Boy went through that literally the heavens exploded upon this area. Then again, on 86, as I was heading to Corning yesterday, I was like, oh my god, like people, it came down so hard you could not see a car in front of you. It was that heavy of a rain. Corning, my God, they had swimming pools by the curbs on the street. Like I was driving on Denison. It was, I mean, you literally could have been like, Well, if that pool over in the uh park is not gonna open this year, just swim on the street. Why not? Hey, you let your kids play on the railroad track. Why don't you let them go take a tip on Denison Park?
SPEAKER_00Speaking of dumbasses Yeah, we got this text message that said, uh, this is from 3516, by the way. I watched parents encourage their kids to put rocks on the tracks in Wellsburg.
SPEAKER_01Come on. Now, somebody did something yesterday that I you and I talked about, did not get it up, bring it up on the air. I think it was you and me. Might have been Wendy and me. Because Wendy The penny thing? The penny.
SPEAKER_00No, that wasn't me, but I I know this. But keep going, keep going.
SPEAKER_01So this is not something that's commonly I mean, I don't even know if anybody knows this anymore, but but the if you're of a certain age, you remember if if you put a penny on the railroad tracks, and again, guys, I'm not encouraging this behavior. This was something people did years ago. Uh that um uh you if when the train rolled over it, it would obviously disform the penny, it would make it look really different. Then if you found yeah, if you found it afterwards, you had this kind of weird-looking cool keepsake, right? Yeah. Uh and uh there was a couple people I that did it in Hornell. They did, I think, quarters on the track.
SPEAKER_00Did it work? Because I've always I've always wondered if it actually works.
SPEAKER_01I guess that happened. Yeah, I guess it did.
SPEAKER_00Now back to the lightning picture. I I am sharing it right now. So go to the Scott and Alley. I'm gonna put it first on the Scott and Alley Facebook page just because it was a friend of mine that had shared it. So I'm sharing it with you guys now. I'll also get it on the Instagram here in a second. But right now you've got two things.
SPEAKER_01What a great picture! Isn't it? It actually looks like it's coming out of the smokestack of Big Boy.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. I knew you would love that. That's right. So yeah, go ahead and hit up the Scott and Alley page to see that.
SPEAKER_01By the way, random note anybody else uh expect Big Boy to have been belching more smoke and stuff like it was a pretty I mean it was a pretty eco-friendly old steam engine, the way it passed through. I mean, you saw it, but it was not like what you see a lot of times where you see massive plumes coming out. At least around here it wasn't. They were just cruising along.
SPEAKER_00I also thought it was gonna be a little louder, but you know, you know there.
SPEAKER_01Very efficient, uh, well, almost 100-year-old train engine.
SPEAKER_00So something else that I saw yesterday, not as cool as big boy, but the Prince car is back.
SPEAKER_01Oh my God! So this goes back to the pandemic.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it does. Yes, it does. Thank you. And I'm so glad I'm so glad you remembered this. When I drive to work, it usually is around 5.30 in the morning. Yes. And I would hit the miracle mile right around like 5.28 or something like that. I believe the person who owns this car works or worked at a Purillator plant. So we were going to work around the same time. Yes. Then all of a sudden, stop seeing it. It made me so sad.
SPEAKER_01And you gotta realize this car is decked out in print. Like it, it's purple, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, uh, the car isn't purple, but there's print stickers everywhere. And I think there's even like a sticker that says like my other car is a Raspberry Beret or something or a little red color, but yeah. And then it's just a really unique car.
SPEAKER_01That is just, yeah, you know, it's gonna stand out.
SPEAKER_00I saw it the other day. Did you wave? No, because I was behind it, but I had so many questions. I'm thinking, are you the owner that I used to see every morning at 5.30? New owner? Or new owner who dis?
SPEAKER_01Um, how do you find because if you're gonna sell your prince car, and you have to, I mean, do you have to put in the in the ad on Facebook Marketplace, you must be a Prince fan or you will not get the keys to this car.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I think that you do. So I was really happy about that.
SPEAKER_01Keep the uh keep the uh the fun alive.
SPEAKER_00If anybody knows anything about the the Prince car, who the person is, is it still the original owner? Send us a message.
SPEAKER_01So there's two other vehicles now that you mentioned this, that now I have to question. Okay. Okay. Totally different reasons. Uh-huh. There used to be an old, I think it was like a Plymouth Valiant. And and if and and this thing I don't even know what that is. Oh, this thing's ancient.
SPEAKER_00My parents Googling this morning.
SPEAKER_01My parents had one when I was so little, and it was in the 70s, and this car still drove around the twin tiers. I love this car. Okay. Now, do you see how it has the wood panel on the side?
SPEAKER_00Oh, well, there's okay, there's a couple different variations.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, gotcha. These people here in the Elmira area painted an entire tropical scene on this. Stop it. Oh my god, I saw this car everywhere for the longest time. So, and um first thing that hits you is how is this car? One looks so good and still is driving around and actually looks like a Hawaiian shirt on wheels. Well, that's number one.
SPEAKER_00Okay, go ahead. Number two.
SPEAKER_01But I, you know, and and so you used to see it. I don't know if it's still out there, if anybody else has seen it or knows what happened to it. But then there is, and I think it's a Ford, and it's a blue Ford, and it actually parks on the street that the radio station's on. We have this secret lab a couple of uh buildings over, and it's like this thing's like way in the back. Like they're making a time machine back there.
SPEAKER_00I always wonder what they're making back there.
SPEAKER_01They're absolutely making a time machine. There's like a black hole in Elmira Heights that's waiting to crack open and eat the earth. Yes. Uh, but this lady, I I don't know if it's a lady or a guy. There are stickers. Now, I'm not talking a few. There are stickers bumper to bumper.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I know who that is. Her name's Michaela Bacchus. She sat in our studio here.
SPEAKER_01What is the reason behind the stickers on that?
SPEAKER_00Because Well, have you ever met her? Yes, you have. She sat in the studio. She's a very eclectic person.
SPEAKER_01I know, but I think to myself, if I'm ever gonna go to a dealership and be like, hey, I'm gonna need to trade it in because I finally hit a lot of miles. Nope. Yeah, that's exactly.
