What day is this? I know it's a little wonky. It's Wednesday, which is great. Okay, we're good. And the the sky was beautiful this morning.
SPEAKER_01It ain't gonna last.
SPEAKER_00It was so you know, I looked at the weather. We're not gonna get rain until overnight.
SPEAKER_01Uh I thought it was supposed to start earlier than overnight. Well, like later tonight. Well, yeah, you're right. Most of today should be all right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I looked hour by hour. It wasn't even until like midnight tonight. Oh, wow. That'll be all right. It was the first thing I looked at this morning. I I was having a scot-free moment.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, girl.
SPEAKER_00I woke up and it was literally the first thing I looked at. And I don't even know why. I don't have anything planned.
SPEAKER_01We had heard about it, you know, that something was coming today. So hey, the longer it pushes back, that's great. Today's the last soccer practice for the season. So it's uh parents first kids. Um, I'm going to sit out this round.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you think?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I I gotta stop pretending I'm 25.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. But we're gonna have a little party. I thought you were gonna stop that before. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_01I can't stop. That's that's my problem.
SPEAKER_00You're like me in concerts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm like, oh, wait a minute. Uh wait, there's there's a game? Let me jump in. Yeah, but not with other adults. Yeah, right? Not with other adults. I'm like, wait, I can play against kids. Yes, I have a shot to win. No. No. No, I have a shot to get injured. Um, but so I'm gonna do that. But we're having a little feast tonight up there. Uh, everybody's bringing something.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you won't be eating any of it.
SPEAKER_01Little party, uh, you know, uh nice, nice little kind of wrap-up, and then one final game Sunday.
SPEAKER_00Some nice uh cat hair buffalo chicken chicken wing dip?
SPEAKER_01No, I think we're doing like who does buffalo chicken wing dip in the summer.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I could eat it anytime. God no. I could eat it on my scrambled eggs. Oh, doesn't that sound delicious?
SPEAKER_01I don't know about that one.
SPEAKER_00You don't even like it.
SPEAKER_01So don't even I don't. It it it tickles my mouth. It's too much like cream cheese or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's the best part. So, what are you guys gonna have?
SPEAKER_01Uh, well, if somebody's bringing a sheep pizza, somebody's bringing watermelon, I'm bringing drinks. I gotta go to the old Samuel's club later.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so this is this is stuff that's like pretty much pre-made.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, nobody's making a cat hair banana bread. Except Shelly. Shelly might.
SPEAKER_00You never know.
SPEAKER_01Shelly's the grandma, one of the grandmas of the team. She might.
SPEAKER_00I figured it would be like, you know, hot dogs, hamburgers.
SPEAKER_01It's not whipping out a grill up there.
SPEAKER_00I didn't know. I haven't done one of those in forever, but you're right. It's usually like juice boxes, yeah, uh, string cheese.
SPEAKER_01Okay, apples, uh, watermelon, because that's an easy one. Okay. Which I won't eat because I hate watermelon. Exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00So basically uh a couple slices of pizza. Somebody grab a cantaloupe for me. A couple slices of pizza for you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, maybe.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Maybe, yeah. Well, I texted.
SPEAKER_01It's fun watching the kids do it, you know.
SPEAKER_00Of course. I mean, that's everything that they love. Yeah. You know, get them real sticky with that watermelon. Oh, can you? I mean, they have to they have to shower anyway when they get home. You would think, yes. Oh, last game, you know. Oh, yes, you would think. I don't think I mean, do they really sweat at this point? I don't even know.
SPEAKER_01Uh oh, they've they've uh there's been a few games they've poured it on where they've come in. I'm like, Kevin, you are going straight to the shower when you get home. Like, don't even stop at the door, just walk right in.
SPEAKER_00Right. And plus they're just getting like dirty grass stains, all that. Exactly. I texted you something that I really needed to talk about.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I understand this. I'm I'm I'm waiting to hear that you received another ticket yesterday.
SPEAKER_00I did not receive another ticket.
SPEAKER_01I'm impressed.
SPEAKER_00But a couple weeks ago, I was questioning what the mile per hour age was on Denison Parkway.
SPEAKER_01Oh, did that light up the text line? Everybody's like, Allie, it's 30. You were like, oh, it's 45.
SPEAKER_00I did not say 45.
SPEAKER_01You said 40.
SPEAKER_00I said, I think I said 35. 35.
SPEAKER_01You started at 40 and then you dropped it down because you were feeling a little ashamed. I remember this.
SPEAKER_00And then all of a sudden everyone said, no, Denison Park is definitely 30.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Well, okay. Then I went home that day and I think I go, oh, that's right. Because and you had even referenced this. When you're coming from Elmira to Corning and you come into Corning off of like 352, if you will.
SPEAKER_01You go over the bridge.
SPEAKER_00Right. There used to be a cop that would always sit there, and that's where it drops down to 30. Ding ding ding. Yes, now I remember. Okay. Well, now, and I don't know if it's because of our show, but I swear to God, it's because of our show. Now, right as you come down and you're right in front of Duncan, you know Duncan and Dennis. They have one of those huge signs that say 30 miles per hour.
SPEAKER_01I've seen it.
SPEAKER_00With the like, it registers your speed. That was never there before.
SPEAKER_01Oh, they're they're like, let's see if we can't remind this girl.
SPEAKER_00And I I swear to God, why else would it be there?
SPEAKER_01This is your relationship with the chief of police. She's like, I'm gonna get her.
SPEAKER_00It's so funny. Get her. No, first of all, she better not get me.
SPEAKER_01Not get you in the ticket sense. She's like, I'm gonna get her. I'm gonna prove the point.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that I can understand. But no, I've done her a nice, free, free favor for the past four years.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that sounds like bribery.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Lock her up. Yeah, lock her up. No, I've seen that.
SPEAKER_01They also have one of those right now. Uh, it's over by tags. I noticed this where it's, you know, it's one of those mobile trailers that the the sheriffs pull out, you know, when they want to like monitor speed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, on the back of it, really huge. It says City of Corning Police.
SPEAKER_01Oh, sure. And and this one, what I believe on 352 by Tags over by the park there, because you do drop from 55 to 45 right there. I believe it takes a picture of you if you're going too fast, which means Smile. Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Smile you've been had.
