I don't know. Well, I don't know the last time I ordered this, so I honestly can't say that I didn't think that it was there, but I was shocked when I saw this. Did you know that McDonald's didn't have the apple pie on the menu for a while?
SPEAKER_00Okay, no. And I know they brought back their fried apple pie thing, but I just thought that they were two different ones. Like one of them was like crispier, and then the other one was more soft. Swaft? Swaft. But I also haven't ordered an apple pie in a long time.
SPEAKER_01Me neither. Admittedly, I my dad would order one.
SPEAKER_00My dad too! My dad always ordered an apple pie. And I used to always get remember with the the happy meal, they had the box of cookies. Yes. Oh my god, I love that. Do they still have that?
SPEAKER_01No, I don't think they do. What do your kids get?
SPEAKER_00They get happy meals all the time, don't they?
SPEAKER_01No, not really that often. Oh, I figured out how to work the menu at McDonald's. Do you want to really get the deal? What do you think? Kids only eat chicken nuggets, okay? I mean, once in a while get them to eat a burger. Get the and this is the best deal on the menu. Okay. It's the big box cheeseburger and nugget meal. You get two cheeseburgers, 20 McNuggets, and two fries. Yeah. The 20 McNuggets, they don't even go through all those, so I get extra of those. And I'll eat the burgers and then I'll eat the nuggets. And I think it's like $15.99.
SPEAKER_00Are they listening right now?
SPEAKER_01Oh, McDonald's?
SPEAKER_00No, your kids.
SPEAKER_01Oh, maybe.
SPEAKER_00What about the toy?
SPEAKER_01Well, most of the time the toys suck.
SPEAKER_00I know, but they didn't they don't care?
SPEAKER_01You know, if it's a big movie, when when we had uh Demon Hunters, I had to get a Demon Hunter one.
SPEAKER_00Right. Right now, I don't know. Maybe they're doing something.
SPEAKER_01They might be doing something Toy Story.
SPEAKER_00Toy Story 5? But you know what?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I want something to tell you about Toy Story.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I can't wait.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's not good.
SPEAKER_00Oh, did you go?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I thought you guys were going to the drive-in. Well, we'll get to Toy Story later.
SPEAKER_01That's I'm not derailing this because I am.
SPEAKER_00Okay, what were we talking about? Apple pieces.
SPEAKER_01Very surprised to see this. That Parade magazine says McDonald's is bringing back their hot apple pie dessert. I thought it was always there.
SPEAKER_00No, I think I don't know. Can somebody clarify this? I thought it was the difference between the fried apple pie and then the soft.
SPEAKER_01Okay. That's so weird to me. Anyway, they're doing it to celebrate America's 250th birthday, which makes sense. What's more American than apple pie?
SPEAKER_00That's right. And get one of the oh, and the soft serve at McDonald's. What?
SPEAKER_01You know what you do? Get a little soft serve on the side, and you got your hot apple pie, and you got yourself a little ala mode.
SPEAKER_00Scott, it is all about anything McDonald's hack.
SPEAKER_01You got a little- Oh, I got all the hair.
SPEAKER_00Haven't you seen the one where the women will buy, uh, I think they get the, is it that they get the chicken nuggets and they eat those, and then they dump the fries in the box, and then they put the soft serves on top of the fries together.
SPEAKER_01Soft serve? Oh, that's the thing.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's like the Wendy's dipping the fries in the one of those. Oh, I'm one of those. Not one of those. I'm a big one in that. You're weird, but that's uh everyone does that, Scott. So I'm just gonna throw it to you.
SPEAKER_01Because I had no idea. Maybe you guys can let us know about the apple pie. I really thought the thing existed.
SPEAKER_00Wait, hold on. The toy thing, really quick. This is a really funny comment. This is from um what is your number? 8201. Uh it says there. I love how you leaned in. You have the biggest glasses on.
SPEAKER_01You're like, what is it?
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. My vision is changing drastically. 40s. Uh I tell me about it. Their toys are stupid Olympic toys that no child on the planet likes. They don't even have Toy Story right now? I like how you that's the most un-American text I've ever heard. Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_01Shame on you. We're talking about bringing back American pie for America's 250th, and you're talking about the Olympics sucking.
SPEAKER_00But why is it the Olympics? Shouldn't it be FIFA right now?
SPEAKER_01That'd be a good one. Yes, I think. You know, there's a you know there was a warehouse of this Olympic crap laying around.
SPEAKER_00Bring back the ones from the 90s where it was the little fry guys. Those were the classics. Those are the greats. Yes.
SPEAKER_01There is a museum. I think it's in California that you can go see all the classic Happy Meal toys that they've had. And even things from your child. I as God is my witness. I probably saw this on the History Channel because I'm 98 years old now and watching that on the regular episode.
SPEAKER_00The Pocahontas Cup was my toothbrush cup.
SPEAKER_01As God is my witness. And then what do you do? You'll see it in a display case. You'll want to break it and take it home with you.
SPEAKER_00Wait, quick question. Do your kids have the toothbrush cup?
SPEAKER_01Well, yeah, there's a toothbrush cup. What's on it? Oh, it's just a little flowery thing. It's there's not not like a McDonald's cup right anywhere. Okay. All right, well, there you go. It's uh I if anybody can tell us, was the apple pie always there? I just I never ordered it, so I never paid attention to it. I thought it was there. And three, two, one. You're listening to Scott and Allie. Scott and Allie's big three.
SPEAKER_00Also, you can tell I am a certain generation because going back to the toothbrush cup, because I always had the Pocahontas one from McDonald's, when I went to that no doubt show at the sphere, I bought that stupid cup for $43. I mean, don't get me wrong, I got an alcoholic beverage in it at the time, but I I paid 43 stupid bucks. And do you know what I use? It's like my bathroom cup.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't even big enough to say, like, oh, I can use this as it's a baby, baby cup.
SPEAKER_00Wow. And then I went and saw I I have a problem. I really have a problem with plastic cups. We went and saw Wilco. No one knows. No one knows. It's alright. It's a band. Anyway, and they had little wine cups, the little plastic wine cups. And I was like, take them all. Because each one of us got a glass of China right here. That's a good toothbrush cup right there. Anyway. Alligator Alcatraz is shutting down for good. Companies hired by the state were told yesterday, let's just do a full demobilization, ending this $1.2 billion experiment. This is great taxpayer money at work right here. This was once praised by Ron DeSantis and President Trump as a model for other states or not. And President Trump signed two executive orders yesterday aimed at speeding up quantum computing in the United States. The first calls for building a computer powerful enough for scientific re scientific research by 2028, which the White House says could open the door to big commercial breakthroughs. And man, he was a hundred, but what a good long life. Alan Greenspan, who led the Federal Reserve for nearly two decades, died Monday at his Washington home. Complications of Parkinson's disease, but one hundred.
SPEAKER_01Just give him the he made it to a hundred. I mean, I've done nothing else. Benny White couldn't even do that. Maha. Too soon. That was sad. You know who did though? I think Dick Van Dyke. Did he finally turn 100? Did he make it? And while you're looking that up, Tiffany goes, why don't you ask me about the uh McDonald's apple pies or the happy meal toys? Good point. She is in McDonald's drive-thru every single day.
SPEAKER_00Uh Mickey D's junkie. Do me a favor. All right, Tiffany. I can see if the apple pie's back on. Well, not uh we know it's coming back, but did they have it? That's what we need to know.
SPEAKER_01And somebody else uh was saying the fried apple pie is nasty. I don't I don't know. What's the I didn't know they changed these things. I I have no idea.
SPEAKER_00I don't know either. Uh Dick Van Dyke. Yes, he turned a hundred in December.
SPEAKER_01That's still kicking. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, is it real yeah, right? I don't want to live out to be a hundred.
