You you have just taken me to a place that I've wanted to visit, and I'm glad you stepped into this because as you know, there are regional cuisines.
SPEAKER_01Yes, for sure. I mean garbage plate Rochester.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Uh you go to uh you go to Binghamton Speedies. Speedies.
SPEAKER_01Dry meat. Oh I'm sorry. I'm it depends. You've never had a speedy unless you use thighs. That is not like cardboard. Get the speedy, like it's like the bag of speedy cubes from Wegmans. We have been grilling those at least once a week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's because they use thighs.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I didn't know. Yeah, it's thighs. But it's delicious.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that that's that is good. I do like that.
SPEAKER_01I love a good thigh.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Uh yep, right? I'm a thigh lady. Juicy thigh. Yes. So there is regional cuisine. Even in Cleveland, there are probably oh, I know. Cleveland's got a great one. I'll give you a great example. Okay. The haloopkey, or it's the stuffed cabbage roll. Haloopki? That's what it's called.
SPEAKER_01I never oh, and I hate stuffed cabbage.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I I can do it every once in a while, believe it or not.
SPEAKER_01My mom does it all the time.
SPEAKER_02Would you ask your mom to make me a batch? I haven't had some in years. Yes, because she always says to me, Can't you call my ex-wife and be like, hey, can you make some haloopkies? Do you want me to freeze you some stuffed cabbage? Yes. No. Yes, I do. Please do. I'm asking you to do that. Does she do it with the Polish sausage?
SPEAKER_01I don't know what she does because I can add that later.
SPEAKER_02Can you just, yeah, would you please do it? Because it's a process. So in Cleveland, you have, you know, stuffed cabbage is a big one. So you would just mention how Zach was up with his buddies up at the track last weekend. And they do it right. They do camping good. They bring the smoker, they bring the salads. Oh.
SPEAKER_01And then this mac salad. This mac salad didn't hit home for me.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Peas, carrots, celery, onions, tuna? Yes.
SPEAKER_02It is such a buffalo thing. This is a is it is his friend from Buffalo area? I don't know. But I'm gonna bet you money he is. Because I just had this conversation with Dan, Heather's husband, because Dan and Alex, Heather's uh husband and son stayed with us last weekend. They also went to the races. Right. He was talking about coming back and helping me get some trees down because he's had experience with that. And no disrespect. I don't want to pay a tree company $4,500. He's like, give me a grand and let me stay the weekend and we'll get the lift and do it. And I'm like, and he goes, I got the chainsaws and everything. I'm like, you sure you want to do this? He goes, I've done it before. It's nothing. I'll do it. I'm like, okay.
SPEAKER_01You need any trees cut back, Allie? I do not, but just make sure it doesn't hit your neighbor's house.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, that's actually one of the things we're gonna do is make sure to cut a couple branches that are beginning to inch over. When I say inch over, I'm like they're hanging over their chimney. It's a canopy. Yeah. So at any rate, he was telling me, he goes, Yeah, we could cook dinner one night. We could do Cheveta's chicken. Oh, yeah. Huge buffalo thing. And we could do uh we could do, you know, tuna mac salad.
SPEAKER_01The salads.
SPEAKER_02And he goes, Heather makes one of those salads. I was born and raised on this.
SPEAKER_01Get the heck out of here.
SPEAKER_02Did you try it?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I did. I tried a couple, because I thought, what is that? And then I asked if it was tuna, and he said yes.
SPEAKER_02So they put the protein in it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then I took a couple bites and I just uh no thank you. And I love like I love tuna noodle casserole. I I eat tuna here every freaking day. Was the tuna wet enough? It was a very wet salad. It was a very yes, yes.
SPEAKER_02Because it should be a very wet salad. Maybe it was too wet. Did they put dill in it? Enough dill? No. Oh, but that's where it's gonna change it for you. This is the most buffalo salad you will ever have is tuna in your macaroni salad. Now it's not a pasta salad. This is I just I'm a traditionalist. It's the creamy Well, that is the tradition of the anybody else, please text us if you're actually listening still.
SPEAKER_01If you're alive.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I don't know. Anybody, anybody anybody there? Anybody there? Anyone with us today? Okay, we're gonna be able to do that. Or have you all checked out?
SPEAKER_01Wait, we do have one. If you ever put peas in macaroni salad, you will never be invited to the cookout again. No, I'm telling you. This is thank you so much, 9927.
SPEAKER_02It has to have the tuna. That's why. See what it is. It's a cold tuna, it's a cold um tuna casserole, essentially.
SPEAKER_01No. Here's what I equate this to. Yes, I understand what you're saying, but I love tuna noodle casserole. But here's what I what I equate it to. It's the same as when people put bananas and fruit salad. It takes over the entire taste. Same with this. The tuna just was the leading it was the stars the point. No, it was the star of the show, and I didn't like the star. Oh my god, I love it. It's like me watching, it's actually it's like it's like Scott watching a Jack Black movie. Get out of here.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I mean, that's a harsh twist. Well, that's the star of the show that you don't like. Yes or no? Have you ever had tuna noodle casserole? Well, it's not tuna noodle casserole.
SPEAKER_01Um have you ever had mac salad with tuna in it?
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, that's what I want to know. It's a buffalo tradition. What is this?
SPEAKER_01I think the thing is why you like it is because you were raised with it.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yeah, well, well, I was gonna say. I was not. Yeah, no, you weren't. All right, I have to play this for you. So this all started where I was asking, because your dad's on a GLP one. Has he has he noticed, has he like an AC and stuff? Does he get colder easier? Because he's lost a significant amount of insulation.
SPEAKER_01Oh, my dad's probably lost over 50 pounds. Yeah, I mean, so I'll ask him today.
SPEAKER_02He's a lean, mean, you know, mark machine.
SPEAKER_01And uh and that's like how we said the exact same thing.
SPEAKER_02And and I asked this because Gavin does the same thing that this mother pointed out about her kid on TikTok.
SPEAKER_00And it is 101 degrees outside. Why are you wearing a hoodie? Why do you care what I wear, bro? Just comfortable, mom. I bet you ain't too comfortable because I know you're sweating. You're out here smelling like onions and perfume because you're out here wanting to wear a hoodie in 101 degree weather. Oh, what?
SPEAKER_01I don't get it because I yesterday, I'm you, I mean I told you a second ago, am literally standing over top of the AC just to get the AC up into my nether regions. Like, I don't I want to wear as little clothes as possible. I'm to the point I come home, I take my clothes off, and I just starfish on the bed. I'm dying.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, the mental image. Back to the tuna in the casserole.
