From 0432, it was a good everyone. Good everyone. Great day, they say. Um, tell us what's going on with you on Thursday with this Martha Lloyd Career Fair. What is this?

SPEAKER_01

This is a great career fair when it comes to having a job with purpose because you know sometimes their job is just a job, it's just filling a spot, right? But this one is more filling a purpose because you're working with individuals who have either uh it might be an intellectual disability or more of and you get to do really cool things. I was looking at their social yesterday, actually. They went to Knobles the other day. Oh so you might be somebody who works with an individual directly, or they also have maintenance, they also have uh finance dep department auditing. So if you're more of administrative, they have some positions for that. If you want something where you're more working one-on-one with these individuals, there's positions for that. And that's Thursday one to three in Troy PA. I'll also if you need to bring a resume, make sure you bring a resume, uh, dress for success. And you'll be meeting people that day who you can ask the questions, hey, what what will I be doing? What are my hours? Because they also have weekend hours and they have some flexible scheduling.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's nice because you might be able to choose a little bit about you know what your own schedule is.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What where where again?

SPEAKER_01

57 Ballard in Troy.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right. That's Thursday uh that you're gonna be out doing that.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, one to three. Excellent. All right now, did you bring steak to the barbecue? Because last week it was, well, I'm gonna of course hot dogs and hamburgers are gonna be there, but you're like, I I just want steak just for me. I'm not sharing with anyone else.

SPEAKER_00

I think it w did I did we get on that because I was just in a mood where I'm like, I've eaten a lot of hot dogs. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

I think it was that. It also sounded like you were kind of like iffy on going to the cookout, like it was like, oh my gosh, I've been really dizzy.

SPEAKER_00

In true include, in true classic fashion, Tiffany's family is a terrible set of planners when it comes to cookouts. I'm sorry, it was a wonderful time, but the truth must come out on this. Okay. Originally, I'm like, we do anything for 4th of July? What? We do anything for 4th of July? Maybe, yeah, no, I don't know. And and and I kept thinking, okay, well, I mean, if we were gonna do a big, big cookout, uh-huh. You know, I'm talking like, you know, a heavy duty one. I'm like, maybe we could promote it at our house because I have all the tools there.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Well, then it became, uh, my family doesn't want to do a big cookout. Okay. But then it became, but we're gonna do like hot dogs and hamburgers.

SPEAKER_01

I do understand that. Because sometimes you're like, let's just throw a dog on the grill.

SPEAKER_00

But at the same time, part of me was sitting there going, you know, it's 4th of July weekend. I need to do a a little bit of, you know, uh just a I need to celebrate it my own way. Uh-huh. And that was a brisket.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so not a steak.

SPEAKER_00

No, so you know, I got all this crap from her, you know, about oh, he had to one-up everybody uh at the uh cookout and this and that. How did I one up everybody? We brought the burgers and the hot dogs and the brisket. That's not one-upping any everybody.

SPEAKER_01

Well, okay, what did everyone else bring if to do it?

SPEAKER_00

Everybody, everybody had certain things they did. Okay, so it was a combined effort.

SPEAKER_01

Um Because you also have pasta salad that you brought in today.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Well, I also see, I like a pasta salad. I told you, I've become a summer salad whore. Yes. And I'm sorry, but I mean that's the truth. That's the one time I can honestly say that's the whore I want to be.

SPEAKER_01

But how come how come you were bringing the most expensive meat and okay?

SPEAKER_00

Do you remember back earlier in the season? I know, right? We went from high end to low end. Do you remember back earlier in the season I had said smoking season, that is? I had said I wasn't really into it. I just wasn't feeling it. Like I could not get motivated to start doing stuff on the smoker or on the flat top. I'm like, what is going on?

SPEAKER_01

This is actually something that came up on the podcast first.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. So I just felt like I'm like, I didn't get the biggest one, I got a smaller one. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And uh at the same time-seed 17 people as opposed to 40.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but you know, I'm freezing some of it. I'm not gonna lie. We're gonna use that down the line. So I just thought, you know, that was more for me of something to do. It wasn't like I was trying to do, you know, prove anything or or whatever. I'm like, if you want a piece, have a piece. Trent ate two pieces. So that was happy about that.

SPEAKER_01

If you want hot dogs, you eat hot dogs.

SPEAKER_00

You eat a hot dog. You want some burgers, eat a burger.

SPEAKER_01

It was because they said they just wanted something low-key. Is that what it was?

SPEAKER_00

I I guess. I mean, you know, but at the same time, too, I'm like, I don't really know what the situation was gonna be with like it wasn't communicated to me like so-and-so is making a potato salad, so-and-so is doing this. So I'm like, well, yeah, I also like my pasta salad, so I'm gonna make that too.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and that's why hence there's some here. I've got to get through it.

SPEAKER_01

Was there two pasta salads?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, perfect. Okay, that worked out great then. Because if it if it wasn't communicated, sometimes that sucks because then there's two pasta salads, two potato salads.

SPEAKER_00

This is okay because mine's always gonna be better. You know that. Everybody I have hence the one upping now.

SPEAKER_01

Because I was thinking before I was like before I was like, he's not one up in it upping, he's just doing what Scott does, and that is taking his hobby and bringing it to the table. That's kind of what it was. Literally.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. Yes, literally. And so it was sort of this weird mix of like, it is the holiday weekend. Uh I want what you want. You gotta go a little bit more than just like, oh, it's Sunday and the kids have been playing on the trampoline, let's have a burger. I just, you know, it was like, let's go a little more. And if you want it, eat it. If you don't, I don't care.

SPEAKER_01

I'm grateful that you shared. Well, yeah, I would of course shared. God, you know me. Last week you were gonna bring one sirloin steak just for you.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yes, but I think I was, I think I was at a point where I was like, oh my God, I think I've had too many hot dogs.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I think it was. Like Joey Chestnut post the uh hot dog eating contest.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, I'm gonna blow. As we were talking about it last week, though, it still was, well, Scott, that's weird for you to be eating steak while everyone else is eating hot dogs. It's all funny.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think anybody would have noticed. I really don't know. Really? Everybody was doing their thing, you know, and talking and doing stuff. I don't think anybody would have noticed. Nobody pays attention to you? No. Well, here, look at the No, I know, right? Look on look at it this way. So Tiffany's mom had uh shrimp that she she's never grilled shrimp before. I said, Oh, it's easy. I'll do I'll help you with that. So there was like three of us out of, let's say, ten of us that ate shrimp. So what's the difference? Her mom brought that.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you know what you bring you bring a sirloin steak just for you next time, and you tell me what the reaction is.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I might try that.

SPEAKER_01

If you want a relationship to be sustainable, don't try that.

SPEAKER_00

Don't try that? Don't try that. I know. Bring one for her too, and then it's okay.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Yes.
