Oh, this is a very nice text from 3557. What did they say? You had said your mom's going under the knife today. She's getting a back problem fixed. I forget what it was. Was it a nerve? Was it a It's a nerve thing.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be in her lower back. She's actually had drop foot for probably since October. Oh. So you have to think this is the woman who would like replace your gas line. Yeah. And then all of a sudden went from really mobile and active to now Things a season up. Yeah. Her mobility is way different.

SPEAKER_02

So 3557 said, uh best to your mom and her medical team. I love how it's the whole medical team. Is that a good luck to the medical team? Uh they said, special thoughts to you and uh your dad too. They said, is she having a lamey? What's a lamey? Now let me tell you, I think that's what she was getting before she was yelling at you to get in the car back in 87. Oh uh, and then question getting a turtle shell or less invasive? Now, Gail in a turtle shell, I would pay money to see.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what any of these things are. What's a lamey?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, but I'd love to see your mom in a turtle shell where she couldn't move around. That's real, it really immobilizes you.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, she was a little lamey before she gets this back surgery.

SPEAKER_02

Anyway, they say love uh towards uh her recovery. So that was very kind. All right. What did you do?

SPEAKER_00

I'm getting married in two months, and me and my fiance just realized we have a huge problem. Um, somewhere along the way, there was some kind of miscommunication with our venue, and somehow we ended up inviting way more people than the building can legally hold. And we didn't realize it until all the RSVPs started coming back, and now we're sitting here staring at this guest list thinking like, what do we do? Like, I'm in total panic mode now. And the worst part is it's way too late to change venues. You know, we already have vendors book invitations sent out, everything's locked in. So now we're trying to figure out how to get the number down without completely offending people. So, yeah, do we tell some guests they can't bring a plus one anymore? Do we actually like uninvite people? Like, if that's what we have to do, how do we even decide who gets cut? You know, it's like every option feels awful, and I feel like no matter what we do, somebody's feelings are gonna get hurt.

SPEAKER_02

Well, uh, you are the one that really screwed up here.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, because in the con it's in the contract. I was gonna say that obviously isn't it an obvious?

SPEAKER_02

Don't you isn't part okay, it's been a long time since I was married. Uh and and I remember enough, I mean, it was different because we they asked us we we when I did get married, it was at the Marriott in Buffalo, that's where the reception was. My cousin was one of the head banquet chefs. How about 25% off everything? Yeah, so at any rate, uh it was one of those things where I could have had as many people as we wanted. So I knew where it was. But most venues today, well, all venues, like you know, they'll say we have a capacity of our fire, uh, what is it?

SPEAKER_01

Our fire code only allows fill in the blank. Yes, that is said multiple times. Or, you know, I Like How did you miss this?

SPEAKER_02

I'm sorry to come down on you, but how did you miss this?

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Especially because I I've worked for wedding venues locally, like I worked for Homestead Blessings, and I mean still sometimes I do. And you know, they'll say, Okay, you can because you have this tent and you have this part of the building, so they'll even say, This many can go in the tent, this many can go in the building. It's so black and white. Now, as far as how do we cut people, what if we do a lottery?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, at least a lottery with Okay, that's a way that you, the bride and groom, can figure out who's gotta go because I think you're gonna automatically only put people in the lottery that are on level B. Okay, level A, you know there's family that has to be there, and there's hardcore friends that you can't have not be there. So you're automatically looking at the ones that are lesser on the list. I'm sorry to say it like this, but this is the way the tiers go.

SPEAKER_01

I know sometimes I'm in level B. It's okay.

SPEAKER_02

But it's how do you say it? That's the problem. It's because now you've you you've really screwed up. I mean, unless you can book Madison Square Garden like Taylor did.

SPEAKER_01

I think you you have to send out like a mass text or an email or something.

SPEAKER_02

God, what? And then somebody texts back, it's okay, you can take me off the list. Then you're sitting there going, oh, see, they don't like us.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, this this is a mask. It's also because I don't want to buy you a gift.

SPEAKER_02

You're damn right.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Or you're you're getting a lesser gift. $30 from Target. That's all you're getting.

SPEAKER_02

If I not even covering my plate of food.

unknown

Well, no, because I'm not there.

SPEAKER_02

Lynette uh says you could set up tents outside and have it outside. Yes and no. It all depends on where it is. Right. And what time of year it is. Not every well, it's a couple months, she said. So there, but the thing is, what if it's a location? Think of the center on uh uh out on the outside of Corning. Yes, yes. That now uh it that's not a huge capacity, right? But there's probably not a situation where you could set up like three tents and you know have people. Oh no, it's gonna be the vibe.

SPEAKER_01

It does because if I set up tents, I've been to events there where there's been an ah ah tent in the back. Yeah, because it starts to go down the hill a little bit. Sure. So again, you're right. If I'm in here and you're out there, you might as well be at home.

SPEAKER_02

All right, I guess the question we really need to know we're not trying to solve her mess. She can dig herself out of that. But the way she digs it out is she's now got to tell people you can't come. How do you uninvite somebody? How do you do this without I like you, but not enough for you to be tier A. Yeah.
