It's gonna be hot today. We likely will get to 90. Upper 80s is the official, but ah, you know how it goes. It always gets a little bit warmer than they say, or at least uh during the summer. So expect that. Possibly some storms later uh tonight. Tomorrow, I don't think you're gonna see a complete washout, but I definitely think you're gonna see on and off spots where it's gonna happen. And then the weekend is perfect. Which, by the way, Saturday I'll be at Trucks, Trucks, Trucks, Corning Community College. Bring the kids up. It's $5 per person, $12 for the family. $20. I'm sorry, $20 for the family. Uh it it all benefits pathways and uh Kids Adventure Club, which is the big after school program they do, or before school, uh-huh. Uh, or snow days and things like that. Uh, this is great. They literally lay out the parking lot for CCC up on the hill is pretty big. So they literally take it over. You're gonna see everything from garbage trucks, which as a kid loved a garbage truck to a fire truck. Fire trucks, they're gonna do a display, they'll put out a uh car fire. Uh, there's there's food trucks, obviously. That's my favorite. Yeah, that's that's there. But all the different kinds of trucks, my one of the other big ones, the wreckers, the big ones that go out and fix the uh 18 wheelers uh back on their, you put them back on their wheels after they tip over on 86, always around Campbell.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this is a perfect idea for families to do. And like you said, it's a perfect day for it as well. You're gonna be there starting at 11, right?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Saturday.

SPEAKER_00

11 o'clock.

SPEAKER_01

Awesome. And it's good. The kids will love it, and then they'll be tuckered out.

SPEAKER_00

Speaking of kids, and this is right in that age range too. A mom of a five-year-old is going for cosmetic surgery for their kid. It's called ear pinning. And earpinning is basically you got some Dumbo ears.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And you're taking your those that kid's ears and you're kind of well, you're you're essentially pinning them to their head.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They're they're they're flattening them out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm all for it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not.

SPEAKER_00

I am totally for it.

SPEAKER_01

No. Now, if you had said like a cleft palate or you know how sometimes that's different.

SPEAKER_00

That's plastic surgery you can get behind.

SPEAKER_01

Well, well, yeah, you had said, you know, taking her kid for surgery, so my brain instantly went there. I'm like, oh, okay, this is one of these things that, you know, uh a bit of a I hate I hate using the term birth defect, because I'm I'm I'm sure there's a new fancy way to say it right now. But something like that's different. I the here's why I'm against this. Well, go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

You tell me why you're for it. I because I dealt with so much turmoil as a kid being made fun of. Granted, it was for me being a chunkster, but regardless, the pain that comes with that really sucks. Uh what what how old is this kid? Todd? Five. Five. Five. So I don't want my kid to go through a whole world of pain, years and years and years, if I can just pin his ears back.

SPEAKER_01

Well, okay, first of all, you don't know that they're gonna go through that. I mean, a lot of times personality can depict what uh, you know, how someone is perceived and whether people notice things.

SPEAKER_00

But kids are cruel.

SPEAKER_01

Kids are always gonna pick on something that stands out. But here's why I'm not for this. Why? Your body's still gonna grow. You may not need that ear pinning. Give it five years, your body's bigger, those ears may have settled back to where they were. But think about this. Think about the long term. What if by the time they're, you know, at the toward nearing the end of puberty and their body really has fully developed and their ears now look sucked in because their body grew into it. This is I don't, I don't agree with this.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I I absolutely do because I don't think they're gonna look sucked in. They're just gonna be flat. What do they do?

SPEAKER_01

Go in and un un undo them and you hear they come flying back out at like 17.

SPEAKER_00

I think they're just gonna be flat their whole life. And that is that is totally fine with me because I can even think of somebody, and I want you to do the same thing, and anyone who's listening, do the same thing. Think of somebody who had big ears that you went to school with. Yeah. I can think, I can see, I can see this kid. And I feel like they grow into him eventually. Maybe when he was a high schooler, he might have kind of grew into it, but I I've always thought of him with big ears.

SPEAKER_01

I just am not down with this.

SPEAKER_00

Are you guys down with a five-year-old getting cosmetic surgery, ear pinning specifically? I'm trying to do it.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, okay, mom's intentions are nice, but she's also imposing on her on her son what she expects is gonna happen that he's gonna be made fun of. Maybe she was made fun of and trying to spare him. But the the reality is you don't know that's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe he's already being made fun of a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe.

SPEAKER_00

And then and she's like, uh-uh, I'm not doing it. Not I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I bec well, then the other thing that's gonna happen, if he was starting to get made fun of a little bit, and all of a sudden he comes in and he's got his ears flat to his head, they're all gonna be like, What the heck happened to you? That's a whole new batch of issues.
