But is it ok to give your candy cigarettes?

Hey, it's Scott and Alley. Who's this?
SPEAKER_02Uh I was wondering what the birthday was.
SPEAKER_00It is February 8th, 1954.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna guess you're not in 1954. No, no, no, no, no. Thank you. Oh god, no problem. Hey, by the way. Does your grandma have that birthday?
SPEAKER_00Well, it's too late now.
SPEAKER_02Does your Mall have that birthday?
SPEAKER_00Side note, this unfortunately no. Side note, this just jumped to $848 next week.
SPEAKER_02Oh, somebody's gonna be very lucky. Yes. Maybe you. It could be your new new next week. Yeah. Well, good luck.
SPEAKER_00Your new new.
SPEAKER_02Your jibjib, whatever you call her. I don't know. Well, I mean, or it just could be you.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I guess I'm gonna take it off Scott and Alley's stories since nobody won it this week.
SPEAKER_00That's it. Yep, you got well, we wait until next week. All right, so we gotta come back to this. See, this is why. This text right here proves my question of what is acceptable today. See, there was so much that was acceptable back in the day, but now we keep coming into, well, we can't do that anymore.
SPEAKER_02Well, I was just wondering. I don't know if we can or can't. It's just something that I've remembered when I was a kid. I would be at a pool and my parents would shove me right in the pool. And you know it was the worst. It was less on Mark, more on Gail. Gail's the shover. No, I'm not surprised at all. So you get a shovel.
SPEAKER_00That's all right. She got her, you got your revenge. She got drop foot and had to have surgery. So all the pain she gave you for those years, that's right.
SPEAKER_02Karma. That's right. That's right.
SPEAKER_00By the way, she's doing very well.
SPEAKER_02Yes, my mom had surgery two days ago, something like that. Anyway. So I I I said, Is this still okay? Can we still do this? Can you shove your kid in a pool? And 8456 said, I guess it depends on the kid. My seven-year-old, for sure, I would push her in the pool all the time. But my four-year-old doesn't like to be pushed to the pool pool pushed in the pool. Well no, nobody likes it. But then in the minute they hit the water and their body adjusts, they're like, ha ha ha ha! And you can't get them out. You know, I think we should start pushing nobody likes it. I think we should start pushing early and often. Because do you remember do you remember being at a pool party? And there would always be the kid, like anytime you would splash them, they became a big whiny baby crybaby, and you're like, oh my gosh, little, you know, crybaby Zach. Shh, don't tell myself that.
SPEAKER_00You might get another no this weekend from whatever.
SPEAKER_02Listen here.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, you just made a fist after 20 years. Get over it. I think he's finally growing a set with you. He's gonna start saying it more. Nope.
SPEAKER_02Nope. So anyway, so there was always there was always the crybaby at the pool party. I can't get my eyes wet. I can't get my hair wet. I'm like, your your parent obviously didn't shove you in a pool and it shows. I can't take it. I wanna I wanna be I wanna be with the kids at the pool party where they're on the raft, and I'm like, dunno. You're the shark. And then I go underneath the raft and whoosh, everybody's like, Well, see, you're the okay, but the pool bird that baby crybaby Zach.
SPEAKER_00Don't tell them. Don't tell him. Um The thing is at a pool party, likely one of your friends are gonna do it, which you have no problem with. Really, this stems from is the guardian of the child still allowed to do it without having the county knock at the door later.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I know. Wait, let me give you another one then yesterday. I'm at Martha Lloyd. And this I've seen this twice in one week. I'm at Martha Lloyd, and they have this like little sweets and treats shop uh in Troy. It's called the Copper Tree. Well, they had a bunch of old or older candies, you know, it's candies that you would love, like Mike and Ike's.
SPEAKER_00It came from the bottom of your grandma's purse.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Along with a cat hair.
SPEAKER_02And here's her word, there's your original. Here's another one for kids. Can you give kids candy cigarettes? Because I was there yesterday and they had the candy cigar. They had the candy cigarette. A candy cigar? I've never seen that. Oh, you've never seen that. Okay, you probably haven't been to a baby shower in a while where they had these. But anyway, so I Unfortunately, no. So that's the second time. Saw candy cigarettes yesterday. And then when I was in East Aurora for 4th of July, went to a candy shop there, candy cigarettes again. Would you give Gavin and Lydia candy cigarettes? No. You'll push it, he'll push them in a pool, won't give them candy cigarettes.
SPEAKER_00The optics implying lung cancer versus drowning.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00Wow, tough choice. Right. Really? That's a tough choice.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so would you give them candy cigarettes?
SPEAKER_00You and I know. And if anybody doesn't know, this is why I say this. Candy cigarettes is bubblegum, essentially.
SPEAKER_02Or it's the chalky ones. Yes, or hard as a brick.
SPEAKER_00It's either chalk or the or gum. One of the two. And if it's the gum one, that's because they wanted to make it look like it was lit at the end. Got those? But uh because the chalk ones just had like was dipped in a dye at the at the tip.
SPEAKER_02I love those.
SPEAKER_00But the bubblegum ones were the best. And the reason I say that is I remember as a kid when you'd blow on it, a puff of powdered sugar would come out at the end, which made it appear that you were eight and smoking a camel.
SPEAKER_02I think they stopped doing that part because the cigarettes that I got, I'm sorry, the candy cigarettes that I got were neither of them smoked.
SPEAKER_00They I mean But you remember that version, right?
SPEAKER_02Yes, I do very vividly, and I loved that part.
SPEAKER_01So I d as a kid, I'm like, Do you understand how bad Squat? Let's want to come over. I want to shove you in the pool. Let's go swing on the swings. Hi, Melissa. She's going bye. Do you want to go play hopscotch next door with Jolly? Let's go do that. How about jump rope? I'm ready.
SPEAKER_00And you're seven. Um so no to the candy picker. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Because this is really fun. Oh, God. Don't allow your children to listen to this show.
