Okay, get ready for the heat wave. That's coming back at us. Warm today. Very warm today. Uh, but then tomorrow, n 97, Heat Advisory is right back.
SPEAKER_00Um, so Zach doesn't have like the greatest AC at his house. So usually he's always at my house on the weekends, right?
SPEAKER_01Oh, sure.
SPEAKER_00And he said, I think I'm gonna I think I'm gonna stay the night at your house. You mean he didn't ask? Wait, what?
SPEAKER_01He didn't ask, he just told you.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, I guess that's a good one.
SPEAKER_01I mean no one a week ago, and now he's just telling you he's staying?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Wow, times are changing. Oh man. He's growing a set. But I gladly was said to him, of course, I have great AC. And yeah, I like having him around. Yeah. So he said, Yeah, I think I'm gonna stay a couple extra days during the week. I'm like, please. Yeah, absolutely. Come over.
SPEAKER_01Leach off, leech off your electric pill. That's what you should do. You should totally just bust his balls and basically be like, all right, well, that's gonna be $25.
SPEAKER_00I already did. Oh, did you?
unknownI did.
SPEAKER_00So great. Oh no, right? So then he he said, because we both get paid on Wednesday. Yeah. He's like, Do you want to have a date night on Wednesday? I'm like, a date night on Wednesday? What do I look like? I'm 23.
SPEAKER_01It's the bank account.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. So I said, What do I look like? I'm 23. He goes, No, we get paid. I'm like, okay, we can wait till Saturday. All right. Actually, I think Friday after Gus Macker, we're gonna hit up the barrel house. Or barrel, I'm sorry, not barrel house, barrel room at illegal.
SPEAKER_01Did you uh oh that's right, they just opened that. Did you uh get to libs on Saturday?
SPEAKER_00I sure did. We're gonna wait. Do you want this story first? Do you want to tell us why you were late this morning?
SPEAKER_01Oh, all right, I'll fill you in on that. Apparently it's a story.
SPEAKER_00Because the lib story is freaking great.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I kind of really am interested in hearing that. Okay, so the class my story's not great. It just dealt with a lot of driving.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I love my story. So the class of 1976 was having a reunion in the room right next to where we were dining at Libs. Wow. And DJ Stro was DJing. And wait, wait, wait.
SPEAKER_01I'm just I'm taking this in because I'm like, wow, the class is 76. I was the class of 89.
SPEAKER_00Um, my parents were 77. But let me tell you what, the class of 76 looks fantastic. I couldn't believe it. I was like, um, excuse me, who wants to be my sugar daddy? I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_01So you don't get paid till Wednesday, so maybe just once.
SPEAKER_00Right. So we walk into the room. It's actually the room with the Star Trek memorabilia on the back. Yes.
SPEAKER_01So the back of the very back. That's my that's my reserve table. Put me by the phaser.
SPEAKER_00I did say that. I was I said, Scott is gotta love this wall. This is my wall. So we had a very large party, and they and you know how it's like the long tables. So we were at one of the long tables right next to it, and it is like a bunch of bunch of bunch. Okay, okay, maybe not quite rave. Were they doing disco? Were they doing? Well, hold on. So we're getting there. Actually, could you get me Earth, Wind, and Fire? Oh god, can I? Can you cue it up for me?
SPEAKER_01Sure, I'll get it right.
SPEAKER_00So I should have I should have cued this up myself. I didn't realize we were gonna talk about that this second. This sounds like it's gonna be great, so I can't wait. But regardless, the the music is like pretty loud. And then I look over. It's really hard or hear it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's how it works. It's like we start in diapers, we end in diapers. You dance with the loudest music at a nightclub, and then it all quiets down for a while. Then you gotta crank it back up again because you popped out of the home and you need it loud.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. And the fact that like you know with DJ Stroh, you know what you're gonna get. Like it's gonna be a party every single time. So, so and I saw it with him, I was like, oh, this tracks, yes, of course. Like, hire the best DJ in town. Absolutely. So so here it is. These then it makes all the sense in the world. But they have glasses of wine. I mean, whoever was pouring their wine, because I assume they probably had like bottles of wine on the table or something, or there was somebody going and like pouring the wine in all their glasses. It was filled to the brim. I'm like, these whoever's filling their wine is is uh a saint. So all these people you can tell. Actually, one lady, she was at the bar because I was getting a drink at the bar, and she was a little slurry. But like, okay, Rita, you might have had three glasses too many.
SPEAKER_01Rita!
SPEAKER_00So finally, I'm thinking you know, my my party is is it's fine, but they but 1976.
SPEAKER_01You crashed the 1976 reunion. I sure did. I knew it. I knew it. I could just hear DJ Stroh. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a special guest in the house tonight for the class of 1976, all the way from Courtney, New York. You hear her every morning. Ladies and gentlemen, Allie Payne has crashed the party. Do you remember? I can't believe you crashed the party.
SPEAKER_00So I go with, well, I said to one of the ladies, because I ran into her in the bathroom, I said, You guys look like you're having so much fun. They're dancing like crazy, Scott. And sh I said, I just I would love to come dance with you. And she goes, Come on, girl! Come on. So I I I was dancing so much at our table, I was like, you guys, I gotta go. And so I went to the next room and I started dancing. And then wait a second. But it wasn't just me. There was this young kid in the restaurant, and they were playing uh Michael Jackson PYT, and he was doing the Michael Jackson moves. Obviously, he just saw the biopic. And the young kid, they're like, come on in! This kid who's like, I don't know, nine or something, he is this little dancing prodigy. Everybody wanted to be in the 1976 reunion. It was awesome! Oh, that's it. I had the best time. Thank you, 1976 Southside.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh, I love that.
SPEAKER_00And there were so many of them, too.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I really still well, I do the math on that.
SPEAKER_00That's they were it was the 50th?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 50th reunion. You know what that means. Tapping it down tonight, ladies! Traveling back with Cool the Gang from Bat Teach Service. What you gonna do?
SPEAKER_00What you gonna do?
SPEAKER_01What you gonna do? You're gonna find that lady that's wobbling at the bar, and you're gonna be like, wanna pretend it's 1979 again? You know what I'm gonna do. At one point Pretend it's your second year in college.
SPEAKER_00At one point, I went up to just like say hi to the DJ, because we've worked with him so much. Like every event he like Allen! Yes, yes, and then we were dancing and I And he's like, hold on a second, I gotta do a mix! By the way.
SPEAKER_01Why am I doing like an old-time radio announcer when I'm doing this?
SPEAKER_00Because it's 1976. Oh, that's right. By the way, the bangers from 1976. I just typed in bangers. Wait, oh, top songs of 1976. Hold on.
unknownHey! Let's get together!
SPEAKER_01Grab the shark down! Hit the floor, being you're okay. Let me tell you the Meanwhile, Dorothy starts doing the worm.
SPEAKER_00Top songs of 1976. Are you ready?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Oh, what a night. December 1963.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00Play that funky music. Oh, white boy. Yes. Uh, Don't go breaking my heart, Ellen John and Kiki D. Oh God, yes. I mean, this was this was a great year. I was just loving every single song.
SPEAKER_01This is hilarious. Wait, hold on a second. Only you could go to Libs for a big dinner and crash a reunion.
SPEAKER_00Oh, but you know how there's so much garlic? So I'm talking to DJ Stro, and I'm I'm thinking, my breath was bad.
SPEAKER_01Everybody reeked in that place. You don't have to feel bad about it.
SPEAKER_00Right, but that's what I was thinking because I wasn't talking close to anyone else except for my boyfriend and then him, and I was like, hi, you're doing a great job today.
SPEAKER_01It reeked of garlic and chardonnay.
