Let's dust off our moral compass on this one. You guys tell me what you think on this. A Circle K uh store clerk uh it alleges that he found uh or he followed company policy, I'm sorry, amid a legal battle over who rightfully owns a winning lottery ticket worth $12.8 million. Let me just tell you, the only reason this is in courts is because it's $12.8 million. If it was $50, you would never have heard the story. But Circle K filed a complaint against the store clerk in, so it's it's the company that did this in February, accusing him of trying to cash in the winning lottery ticket that a customer left behind at the store on November 24th, 2025. According to the report on this, uh, the customer bought multiple tickets for the pick lottery game, whatever, in which players must match six numbers on the ticket uh to the six numbers that are called. According to the complaint, per the outlet, Circle K, the uh the clerk reportedly printed uh $85 worth of tickets, but the customer only paid for $60 worth, leaving $25 worth of tickets on the counter. So they were he overprinted, customer wanted $60, now you got, you know, an extra set of tickets. What, $25 worth of tickets just sort of sitting there? Right. But the customer only paid, like I said, for the $60. So anyway, the remaining tickets were left uh uh unattended in the store until the next morning. And the winning numbers were called. So the clerk clocked out uh of work that same day and purchased the abandoned tickets from the uh from an employee.

Okay. So moving on with this, the lawsuit alleges that the outlet's uh uh and the clerk's attorney uh claim that his uh his client allowed a followed store policy, which requires, like you said, you know, you clock out, you go from there. Uh let's see here.

So the customer the day before bought six All right, let me see. Clerk prints 85 tickets. Clerk wants 60, customer takes 60, buy out the door. Here's the remaining $25 worth of tickets. They sat on the counter overnight, came in the next day, there was a lottery.

The night before that he left the tickets on the counter, he had no idea there was going to be a win. He walked into it at whatever time they open the Circle K. And he's like, oh, let me just bounce through these. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure there's people that do that leave. I would be shocked if you're a clerk at a convenience store and someone just drops off tickets they thought lost that you don't rescan them and just check to see. Is there a fiver in here?
