Here's my complaint, though. It's kind of a twofold thing. It is, and you know how I feel about like Amazon centers coming and AI centers coming and how much I hate it so much. So here is we have no pools, nothing for the we bitch about kids not going outside to play, but they don't have any options for swimming on the hottest day. And then the other day we go to Spencer Crest, it's all overgrown, and there's basically signs posted saying we're like re-um, like re-shifting. So Zach does this deep dive and he goes, Oh no, it's now owned. Back in the day, it was uh it was like a volunteer program, blah, blah, blah. He goes, now the college owns it, they're not taking care of it. And so that's another thing. It's like, wait, so uh do you want us to be outside or not outside? Because why is why are these things not being taken care of? So And I know it's money because of course, like whatever money comes into these entities, they're just gonna put it towards what they want to put it towards, like, I don't know, things in the classroom, which great. I'm glad I'm glad that people get an education at CCC. I'm not like dogging you for that, but I just hate that the like the the idea of taking us out of the outside or forcing us back inside is just really frustrating.

Because the one argument that uh because it sounds kind of like you figured out the Spencer Crest thing. I mean, it seems as though that's pretty clear. You'd have to actually talk to the people at the college and be like, what is your plan? Is it just now gonna go back and revert back to just a wilderness area with nothing? And are you done there?

They may not. But now back to the pool part, because obviously two different, you know, arguments here. One is not necessarily private company, but you know, more you get you get what it is. So the pool part of it is is it's always been the argument is one of two things cost of maintenance, that's a huge argument, or the cost of repairs. Ten years ago, when they drained out that pool on Denison, they uh they were supposedly at some point working on uh, you know, the plan to get the thing fixed, and they thought that they had it fixed or whatever the case may be. So I it really comes down to somebody in the legislation in Corning needs to kind of answer, or Steuban County. I don't know if it's Corning that owns it, I don't know if it's the county, I don't know if it's a mix of the two, you know, the parks department and stuff. Somebody kind of needs to be like, okay, this is the actual problem we have. And then the legislation, look, you think taxes are cheap out in Stew Band County or Corning? No, no, oh, especially Payne and Post?

All right, so two things And me too. And and I mean and you too. So then I ask this question, and this is just me asking. I don't want to be part of the problem and spread the rumors that people would say things out of, you know, just like, ah, well, you know, they don't they don't have the money for I mean I'm not sure. No, but I'm just bringing the pro I just want you guys to see the problem. Right. And my my question is this are the the people that are in the positions of political power out there, were they just so eager to win a political race that they're you know that that's what they wanted. Now they're not diving into fixing some of the problems. Is the community not loud enough, you know, to be able to point it out and say, yo, get on it. I know that there's insurance costs, I know that there's uh, you know, cost to maintain this stuff, but where where where's this money going? Right. That's I would like to. What are you putting it to? And why am I not having a choice of what you're putting it to? And don't tell me I have the choice when I voted for you because nobody looks at every little thing you plan to do.

One of the things I always said that is if I won the lottery and I gave it to charity, or let's say I gave it to a gave it to Stewang County or gave it to Corning, that I would say you have to put it towards because you can actually do that. Let's say you die and you want to give money to some charity, let's say you want to give it to Pro Action or whatever, you can you can say it has to go towards buying food for the elderly or whatever. Yeah. So I I you're right, I don't want to be a part of the problem, but I these are just things that I've been really noticing lately, and this is our backyard, and that's great that Thorn Street is getting a full renovation, but come on. I mean, Corning has had so much money dumped into it, but this pool just sits there.

Yes, uh, but those are But then you're taking a longer trip out to these places. I mean, park station is great, don't get me wrong, but uh, you know, you've got to go out to these places and do it. There was a convenience of, well, again, we come back to Denison, we come back to Craig. I think there was a third night, can't remember.

Denison was not kept up, hasn't opened in years, and Stuart Park Pool didn't open this year, at least as of yet. Stay cool. Oh, stay cool on a hundred degree day. Okay, that's good. There's no pool.

And I can't even preach this enough. I had a friend who used to work for the prison system, and he said, you know, there as uh a lot of the people that are in prisons, they had no accountability and nothing to do as a young kid. So you we need to invest in doing things little centers, you know, like youth centers, activities for them, parks and rack. It starts at such a young age, and we're not investing our money into the youth.
