Well, Ellie uh she found the name, and uh since we're having the uh Smoke Fest uh here from Canada, it's the Canadian clam bake. That's what we've named it. Very good.
SPEAKER_01I love this name. Uh well okay. On top of that, somebody wrote uh the Canadian smoke that makes you choke.
SPEAKER_00I like that. It's a good rhyme. That's good. I love it. We had the submission of the polite pollution.
SPEAKER_01All the smoke sneaked over the Canadian border easier than I could.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, what else did we get on the this Canadian wildfire thing? Oh, we did get this from Carrie this morning. This happened almost exactly one year ago with the wildfires. I remember having to protect my baby. Oh, that's something I didn't think about.
SPEAKER_00Well, I did tell you, somebody was walking their dogs in my neighborhood last night, had the mask on. I mean, it did get there. How thick was it? I uh I like it.
SPEAKER_01That's what she said.
SPEAKER_00That's all right. I'm like, do I turn the lights on in the house? Like it was yellowish outside, and you knew that it's supposed to be really sunny. Go ahead. What's the next line? You're just killing yourself over there. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Last night, I was, I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt. Last night, go ahead. Last night, Zach was talking, we were talking about going to the Gus Macker, and I said, Oh, I think Scott's gonna go. And he had suggested, you know, there's a couple laying the plan out. Either I was gonna drop Zach at Patrick's, you guys could meet at Patrick's and walk over. And I said, Well, Scott had said um that I could drop him off at your house, and then he could play with the pugs, and then you could go come over to Gus Macker. Yeah, so so Zach was like, you know, like what is what's Scott into? And what what should I talk about? Like what you know, he he wanted some preparation, right?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, Zach, just be yourself. Just you don't have to start talking to me about Star Trek.
SPEAKER_01So well that came up.
SPEAKER_00I'm sure.
SPEAKER_01But then I said, you know, like throw in some dad jokes, and he's like, okay, so I should like do some finger pointing and like uh I've never had someone, especially of the same sex, to prep up to uh possibly.
SPEAKER_00Assuming the schedule works out.
SPEAKER_01Well, oh, that's right, because you might be picking up more pugs.
SPEAKER_00I might have to go down to Wells.
SPEAKER_01It sounds like you're trying to get out of coming to my event. Well, let's see.
SPEAKER_00Standing in the smoke in 84 degree weather, watching Allie huff it out uh on a basketball thing or driving.
SPEAKER_01So when I fall completely dead in the middle of the street, I'm gonna blame it on the Canadian clam bank.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah. Well now But it really sounds like you're really just trying to get out of coming and supporting my events it sounds that way, but you know, not everything is as the way we make it sound. Because we've been using that excuse for 20 years, by the way.
SPEAKER_01Zach said, uh, you know, I'm telling everybody at work, and they're real like, uh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know.
SPEAKER_01And I I said, I have the same relationship, unfortunately, with the people at my work, is that I'm we really don't. You can't get them to show up here to do their job. You think they're coming to your basketball game? No. Come on. And it sounds like you're not either. By the way, 80 said. I guess I can stop prepping him for what to talk about.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, why would you worry about it?
SPEAKER_01Just show up. I think he just wants to make sure that he knows a little something about you so he has some conversations. This intimidating? No, no, but you know, it's good to be prepared. Not everyone can go in cold like you.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what I'm gonna talk about next. Don't worry about it.
SPEAKER_01He just wanted to know was there something like, oh, if you were into underwater basket weaving that he could be like, oh, oh, did you took a class once at Healthworks?
SPEAKER_00Oh, got it. Okay. I understand.
SPEAKER_01I can understand going into a social situation and wanting to have a little preparation. Like when we were at a dinner last week with all of his friends, okay, what is what is Kate into? Does she collect my little ponies?
SPEAKER_00I can't believe people prep this much to just have a casual hangout. Assuming this happens, I mean, like, I'll tell you exactly what's gonna happen. If he comes to the house and he wants to play with the puppies if I get him in time, and then we roll over to watch you do how long is this basketball thing, by the way?
SPEAKER_01I found out Zach thinks it's only gonna be like 45 minutes. Okay, so I also found out the fire and the policeman are also playing against each other tomorrow. I had no clue that was happening.
SPEAKER_00I don't know, are they doing multiple courts or no?
SPEAKER_01I think it's it'll I think it's gonna be our game and then their game. Oh, they're prime time.
SPEAKER_00You guys are the warm-up. So we're gonna get you off quick.
SPEAKER_01I think I'm probably six to seven. I'm guessing they're probably seven to eight. I'm really not sure on that.
SPEAKER_00Either way, the the thing I was gonna say is if he came to the house and he because he was like, I just want to play with the puppies for a few minutes, it'll be the same conversation I tell anybody that comes into my house. Ignore that. I have to sand my floor, I have water spots because I use the wrong polyurethane. Boom, conversation's open.
SPEAKER_01That's your conversation?
SPEAKER_00Uh it's for a guy, it's an easy in.
SPEAKER_01Oh, because let's say, for instance, I mean some girls do, but let's say, for instance, Tiffany was gonna go hang out with our coworker Megan for an afternoon. They they decide they're gonna say, hey, let's let's do a brunch.
SPEAKER_00That's an easy conversation. Megan, which liquor store do you want to stop at?
