We got a lot of catching up to do very quickly here. I need to take us back really quick. You had mentioned the ice cream shop in Addison. Uh and we're going to Stone Cone. Stone Cone. But we're calling it scoop and a s and a stalk.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, on their TikTok they said, um, do you have an ex? Well, you can come come get a scoop and then stalk them on our phone. And would you? Yes, of course I would. That was my answer. And all of you the same thing. Let me read you a couple a couple text messages. 1725. Hell yeah. Then from 4958, hell yeah. What's up? Hell yes. 2502. Hell yeah. Uh seriously, who doesn't? And um, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, now go ahead. One more catch up. We were talking about uh Ellie dating an old man because of butterscotch uh flavored ice cream, and then and and Tiffany had texted and said, uh, you're dating an old man, I'm dating my dad.

SPEAKER_00

And we And I said, Why your dad? Well, and I forgot Is then he he's always bossing you around telling you what to do? No, I forgot about this.

SPEAKER_01

It was Valerie that uh pointed it out because Tiff Tiffany's dating her dad because of the story that you told the other day being at the vendor fair uh wherever it was. It was in the fine dustball park of Hornell. You can look it up on a map. And uh it was the person, the vendor, who said, Stay here, dad. You might have to open your wallet. That's right.

SPEAKER_00

I forgot I forgot about that.

SPEAKER_01

And then I want to read this very quickly because I think the answer is so clear to this. I personally think the answer is so clear. You may feel differently. Uh, this one came from 5610. It says, I need some advice. And he said, All right, here we go.

SPEAKER_00

I'm here for you.

SPEAKER_01

Doctor fails here. Uh I just started dating again, 46 uh years old. Okay. Good for you. You gotta get out, gotta get, you know, do what you gotta do. If you want to do it, do it. And it's it's extremely hard for me, LOL. Well, it's hard, we're still doing it. Uh she said, I'm old LOL. Anyway, there is a 28-year-old interested in me. Now I'm flattered, but I don't know about uh that young. Um let's see here. What's your opinion? Uh and let's let's say they say.

SPEAKER_00

Mind you, my oldest will be 24.

SPEAKER_01

Oof. Um, here's the thing. I don't think the 28-year-old's interested in you for the reasons you're hoping that 28-year-old's interested in you for. Um, it's one of two things. It's either they are looking for a sugar mama. That was one of the two. And the other one is is you're you'd be fulfilling an older woman fantasy.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yes. I was thinking if you want to have fun, then go for it. But for the long haul, I don't think you guys are gonna find the same interest goals, or you'll find yourself parenting the 28-year-old like you do your 24-year-old. Yes, I think you'll have that. Even if they're mature, I think there's gonna be there's that span of time that there's just enough time between the two of you that you won't be able to find things relatable enough. You know, if there's like between Scott and I, we're 10 years and some apart. I don't I can't I can never remember how far apart we are. But anyway, so we're a little over 10 years, 10 to 12 years apart, 13 maybe. And there is sometimes in our conversations that I'll go, oh, I don't remember that. Or, and not that it's not that this is the most important part, but just hear me out on this. Or he'll go, uh, that just wasn't my era.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think that that is like kind of the as far as you can go on on age difference because where you're at your age versus his age, there's too much time. There is going to be a lot less relatability. And I do feel that shared memories.

SPEAKER_01

By nature, you're because you have a 24-year-old, you're gonna feel like you're gonna parent the 28-year-old. But the good news is, is uh pretty soon you're almost, let's see, 46, you're uh four years away from the uh the uh um uh age categories for our time, the uh senior single site.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_01

They start at 50.

SPEAKER_00

I think if you want to just have fun, then just have fun. That's fine. But don't look at this like long term and don't get stuck in it long term either.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, you're gonna burn too much time.

SPEAKER_00

One thing that I do want to absolutely confirm dating, I don't care what age you are, but at your age, I will say, is really freaking hard. It is so sucky, and I always say to Scott, you're so lucky that Tiffany texted on our text line and basically slid into your DMs in the most Scott and Alley way. Because that is not how people get that lucky in dating. No, no, no. You usually have to climb a freaking mountain.

SPEAKER_01

So let me ask you a real quick philosophical here.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

Is it harder when you're older because you're not old, by the way. 46 is not old. I'm just saying I'm using the term older as opposed to seasoned. As opposed to a 21-year-old. Because you have no, you know, cares or burdens or things holding you down. You can just get up and go that it's easier, or because you're 46, are you running into people are set in their ways.

SPEAKER_00

People well, yeah. And they have then you s you have a whole life of baggage behind you. So those are two.

SPEAKER_01

It doesn't have to be baggage. I know there's always so there's always something when you get to a certain age. There's always something in the past, but does it always have to be baggage, or can it be just shared, you know, experiences?

SPEAKER_00

Um it depends. It depends what I mean, what depends what you consider baggage. If somebody for me is in so much debt that they're swimming in it, then that's that's some tough baggage.

SPEAKER_01

That's tough baggage to me. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

If you have a kid, that's not baggage. That's that's life. That's life. That's fun, you know. That's like, hey, let's uh let's go to Odessa Community Days and get our face painted this weekend. I mean, I know it's not all that, but I'm saying kid life is is not is not baggage.

SPEAKER_01

See, I look at it like this. As you get older, it should get a little bit easier. And and hear me out on this. Okay. You have lived, so you've seen things. By the way, your 28-year-old uh buddy that's interested, just starting to get see things behind them. Because you have to look in a rear view mirror to be able to say, okay, I know exactly where I'm gonna go, what I'm gonna do, what I'm not gonna do. If if you're able to learn from, I don't want to just say mistakes, but from life itself. Yeah. But you'd think it'd be easier. I mean, there's a vendor fair every uh five of them every weekend. What a great first date when you're 46. Sounds like something you should be doing.

SPEAKER_00

Well, when you say that, I know that you want to think, oh my gosh, aren't we done playing the games? We've we've learned along the way.

SPEAKER_01

Why games?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think you have that to you have that to a level, but like I said, but then you get stuck in your ways. Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with that. In many ways, I well, I mean, I've talked to Tiffany.

SPEAKER_01

Now, see, I don't it's very funny. But but here's the thing. Well, you can also be honest and be like, I mean, as long as they're not like, you know, doing terrible things. But it's like, you don't always have to go into a relationship going, How can I change this person? Sometimes you're gonna sit back and be like, look, this is who I am. This is the way I want to live and the way I want to be, and this is what I'm gonna do. If it fits you, great. If not, too bad.

SPEAKER_00

That's exactly it. Because it's not that I want to change you, because you're not gonna change because you are so set in your ways. But I am now also seasoned, and I don't have to stay for that.

SPEAKER_01

No, you don't, but that's the beauty of it. Whereas when you're younger, I'm always thinking, is she gonna be looking elsewhere eventually? Uh is you know, there's so many temptations when you're younger, whereas when you're older, you're kind of like, let's get down to business here. What's this all about?

SPEAKER_00

Right. Oh, yeah, that's the part that I do love for sure.

SPEAKER_01

So you gotta put yourself in the right mindset.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes when people are setting their ways, and believe me, I am, when people are setting their ways on certain things, and I'm And Zach is never gonna change her. And well, no. And but I also go, Wow, this is what the hill you're dying on at 42 or whatever.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you gotta get off that that horse, if you will. That's that's where you just, you know, okay, it's just not for you. I think you have to go into this the right mindset. Hang on, one more time. I want to give the proper shout to 5610 because you opened this up. You have to go into it with the right mindset when it comes to dating at a at an older age. If you're open and and you just say, look, you know, this is who I am, this is what I like, this is what I don't like. Uh, honesty is a very key point to this, and I'm not gonna play games, and you stick to that, I think it's way less difficult than you think.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it is. It's so freeing. I just had it in this that my most recent relationship is the most communicative I've ever been.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it wouldn't have been like this if you were 23.

SPEAKER_00

No, no. I mean, think about all the relationships. You guys have listened to all the relationships that I've had for all these years that I was not communicating, that I was stuffing everything inside, and it just was not healthy for any of the relationships I've been in. Just be honest. Yeah. And if you just want some booty from this 28 year old. Okay, well.
