Okay, so clearly we did not have the level of wealth in the twin tiers to have the intercom systems that worked in nineteen eighty-two in your house, but didn't work in nineteen eighty-six, but then they hung on the walls forever. Jonathan's here. You're of a certain uh age. Hi. You're of a certain age. Did it not did you ever live in a house that had the intercom system?

SPEAKER_01

Or had a friend who had it. We weren't rich enough for that.

SPEAKER_00

I see.

SPEAKER_01

Apparently, my family was rich. You know what was great too?

SPEAKER_00

That's where this went. People are now just calling people. Like if you were in the house, I like how you're like people, it's you. Yeah, with me. But like, you know, mom or dad are just calling the kids. You are right on point. And it's always him. It's like, yeah, he's like, I don't get it. It's like, yeah, I know it's you. Seriously, now it's gotten to the point we're just calling people. We're not even walking down the hall anymore. We're not, I mean, and then we sure you text, hey, kid, dinner's ready, but now you're just, you know, when's the last time you called someone in your house, but that drifted into the intercom? So, like, we should put an intercom system in here. That'd be great. It wouldn't work past 1980.

SPEAKER_01

It's too, we're too far past it. They haven't worked since 86. Our intercom would be blowing up every two seconds.

SPEAKER_00

First, we have to start with our phones because I don't even know how to get it. Hold on, hold on. I gotta tell a story now. Uh this is wow, is this drifting everywhere? Conjugal visits? No, no, no, no, no. We don't need to go back to that. Somebody yell down the hall for Cooper and tell her to run down here.

SPEAKER_01

We used to piss we that gets her right every single time. Every single time.

SPEAKER_02

Jesus, that was a good one.

SPEAKER_01

She's like a dog.

SPEAKER_00

This this used to piss her off so bad. What?

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Wait till she gets here. So this is why we're not allowed to have fun things here at the radio station.

SPEAKER_01

Like what kind of fun things?

SPEAKER_00

Like an intercom system. Because when I tell you this story, if she can get down here quick enough.

SPEAKER_01

Was this before my time?

SPEAKER_00

I just ordered our GM to go get our traffic management and run back here.

SPEAKER_01

Back in the day, it used to be so rude to if you were a morning show, you would ask an intern to go get coffee. And we literally just uh uh bossed around our boss. Like how times have changed, right?

SPEAKER_00

I couldn't even imagine a stroke in this building, huh? Right.

SPEAKER_01

I also I couldn't even imagine asking an intern to get me coffee. Like, come on. Oh no, I wouldn't do that. I've never done that, actually. It only happened to me once, and the guy was like, I'm really sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Hold on, they have a push button bell in our house, and wait, wait, wait, now where's Jonathan? This is part of the story for him, too.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. He said that he wasn't good enough for you guys and you needed me. No!

SPEAKER_00

He was supposed to be part of the story too. Uh we have now she's walking out to go back and get him. Does anybody want to play a bet that she just comes back alone? Probably. Or he comes in alone.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, this has to do with the intercom thing, right? Jonathan. This is chaos.

SPEAKER_00

Get over here. Yes, ma'am. Exactly. Read the text really quick, and then I'll tell them to be able to do it.

SPEAKER_01

We have a push button bell in our house, and our house is from the 1800s.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's cool. That is kind of cool. We're not talking ring cameras. We're talking like literally the old intercom system that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they didn't have ring in 1800s, Scott. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

I hate her. It's really good that I'm leaving early today.

SPEAKER_03

So like every day. I know.

SPEAKER_00

Adding you to the list.

SPEAKER_03

Um that on the list.

SPEAKER_00

This is Jonathan. I just want to know. He wasn't here for this era. Starts with an S, ends with something else. Uh so this Smiley. Yes. So you weren't here in this era. And uh, but but I have to tell you, and Melissa will back me up. This is why we're not allowed to have fun things in the radio station, like an intercom system. I'm gonna just give the impression and watch her reaction. What? Scott, come to my office right away.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, when we used to have the intercom above the all-call.

SPEAKER_00

The all-call. The all call. You used to hate the all- Well, no, it was great if you were calling somebody your office because Melissa would be like, Jamie, get over here.

SPEAKER_01

To Melissa's office.

SPEAKER_03

And you would repeat it. You have to repeat it so that they know.

SPEAKER_01

Then the all call afterwards. The point of the all call is will you do it, Jamie to Melissa's office, Jamie to Melissa's office? And then you push the button down lightly. No, Melissa.

SPEAKER_03

Slam the phone down so that everybody knew. So if I call it I'm aggressive. Oh, so the all call would be like It's like Melissa's.

SPEAKER_00

She was allowed to do that. But then But I'm not allowed to have scissors. It's weird. Then we all discovered how to use the all call. Oh, that sent her right off the right out of the stratosphere. She was like, oh my God.

SPEAKER_03

She guys would play dumb music over the intercom to everybody while I'm trying to work. Like that stupid chicken song. What's the chicken song? Um, no, I will I will play it for you off air. And then you can decide if it is suitable for on air. Gotcha.

SPEAKER_00

This is proof we can't have fun things, right here.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, but and they and at one point we had a karaoke machine in the sales pit.

SPEAKER_00

Oh god.

SPEAKER_01

And I thought everyone was going to along with the foosball table. Oh, that's right. We did have a foosball table. I forgot about that. What happened to that?

SPEAKER_03

We can't have fun things. I don't I have no idea what happened to it. Oh god.

SPEAKER_01

Selling wasn't happening, apparently.

SPEAKER_03

So we sold that and TR. It's great.

SPEAKER_00

It's nice to see some things never change.
