Now I understand what's going on. I was reading a text from Friday when we were out of town. Oh but you guys just blasted us with a ton of text. So I'm gonna get through a couple of these and we'll break down a little bit about how some of the things went over the past couple days. So this one actually came from Candace on Friday. She goes, I feel like I missed something, but uh I don't know. She goes, I hate when uh uh when I get uh in here and I'm listening to the same segments that I know that you guys did already or had done it, it's uh almost like it's a recorded version. Well, it was Thursday and Friday. So yeah, Candace, you're right on that.
SPEAKER_01Also, that came that exact message came in multiple times on our social too, where people were like, I want to respond to this topic, but I think I've already responded to this topic.
SPEAKER_00Well, and the thing, I thought we did a very good job of letting people know that you and I both which is a rarity that we're both off at the same time, unless it's like Labor Day, Memorial Day, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I thought we did a good job of letting people know that we were gonna be out, but uh, you know what? It does go to show not everybody can be here every minute. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Like, you know, I guess next time, not I guess, next time, we'll put something on social too. We just didn't even put anything.
SPEAKER_00I thought of that.
SPEAKER_01I know I was posting from the actual conference, but there's still I mean, it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone knew that the conference was in Cleveland.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01I was like, I was posting selfies of us of like first day, last day. But yeah, I guess I just didn't think that it's it's alright.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know, lesson learned. We'll make sure that uh, you know, we do better to let you know. Hi, Shannon. She texted, she said, uh good everyone. Uh I uh I enjoy listening to the uh best of Scott and Alley. Well, that's nice. Oh, that's very sweet. But there's nothing like the real thing. Uh glad you are back. Doug, I'll get to your text in just a minute. Uh let's see here. John 3.17. He must have missed. See, this proves it. We were talking about the chocolate chip cookies on the smoker.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00He goes, I must have missed that segment. I think it was last Friday that we we somehow we were on chocolate chip cookies. We said, you know, uh, John 3.17, who's really honestly the king of the smoking on the uh uh on the program now. He is far surpassed me as far as what he does.
SPEAKER_01Oh, for sure. But so did he answer because I can't see the text messages right now.
SPEAKER_00He said, he goes, I must have missed that segment. He goes, uh, but he goes, I'm on it. So Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Let us know.
SPEAKER_00Uh let's see here. Then the oh, we just I mean, and if you let us try him too, that'd be awesome. Morola's just here with morning. Morning. Exclamation points. Oh, and uh Chad just got back from Oklahoma yesterday, drove me and my two kids uh now heading out to uh Utica. Oh God. Wait, you drove from Oklahoma? That's a drive.
SPEAKER_01Um, that's the most boring drive ever.
SPEAKER_00Now heading out to Utica, which is the Oklahoma of New York, uh, for a week for work. And uh let's see, uh visiting my house for a uh couple hours. Oh, geez.
SPEAKER_01Because honestly, like we drove four and a half hours, four and a half, five on Friday. Yeah, and it wasn't bad, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_00No, but it was enough.
SPEAKER_01It was plenty enough. Although I did say that it went really, really quickly, but I don't like to do anything past that. When it gets to and we're supposed to over Christmas time, like we've been really ramping in talking about I can't believe I'm talking about Christmas, but we've been talking about our Christmas plans because I've got my family, Zach has his family, but then he also has Chicago family. Oh boy, yes, that's some traveling, exactly, and I'm crano storms and well, and besides that, it's like, oh, am I gonna go to Cleveland, come back for his family, then we go back to Chicago? Yeah, I I just it's too much driving for me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's a lot. Well, yeah. You go, you start getting past six hours. It starts to hurt.
SPEAKER_01It's 11 hours.
SPEAKER_00Now I'll have to translate 3836. This isn't the best audio, but of course, you know you can send us audio through our text line too, through the uh app, either Wink106 Twin Tears Magic or My Radio Jams. And today's a birthday. Okay, I'm glad you guys are back today. Today's my birthday.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00You know what that means.
SPEAKER_01Yes. A one, a two, a one, two, three. This is your birthday song. It isn't very long. Hey.
SPEAKER_00Now over to the 3386. Doug, you've been terribly missed. You were talked about endlessly at morning show boot camp in Cleveland. I mean, we uh people now know Doug that work in Seattle.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes, yes. We definitely were we were definitely gassing you up.
SPEAKER_00Yep, all the way. Uh, and he said, uh, Scott, how was the uh Payne Mansion? Oh my God, let me just tell you. This is the first time.
SPEAKER_01First of all, this is the first time Scott's ever been to my mom and dad's house.
SPEAKER_00So it's very un what's the word I'm looking for? Unassuming? Unassuming when you drive up because you feel like you're driving into a suburban Cleveland neighborhood.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. In all the houses in HA.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all the houses have a similar design and a look, although I will say your parents' landscaping on point. Oh, that's scale. That's Gale. So, you know, I pull in and I'm looking around, and I'm and and I wasn't expecting what I saw. I thought I was gonna see a lot of land between the houses, like, you know, very open. But again, these are nice houses, right? Oh my god, then the door opens. It's like sunbeams from heaven. You're like, whoa, holy god! So now now this is the point of the conversation. I feel like you're exaggerating. No, it we're used to it. So this is the point of the conversation. Anyone that walks around their house and goes, one day I'd like to redo my bathroom. And I feel more people, I'm not even getting to the big part. I'll get to the downstairs in a few minutes. Okay. But most people, when they live in a home, know they have certain things. Jesus, I got windows I gotta put in. If Pella would get on the ball and let me know if they're gonna do it. I've got uh bathroom that needs to get redone, arguably two hardwood floors that you see what? Even at your house, which is pretty well put together, don't you mentally go? I would like to do the Oh gosh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We just talked about something the other day.
SPEAKER_00Your parents' house is in such excellent, perfect, pristine. Everything that went, you should see the bathrooms, people. It's those floor-to-ceiling glass showers, you know, that are like crystal clear.
SPEAKER_01You know the tub that it's like a freestanding tub. It's a GD swimming pool. But here's the other thing about it it's not just the house, it's how disgusting my parents are in love because.
SPEAKER_00Okay, unfortunately, they did not show that to me.
SPEAKER_01Because Zach got a tour as well, because he was there for the first time last Friday, and that my dad gracefully pointed out, he's like, Oh, this is a two-person tub, but Gail just had back surgery, so we can take a bath together.
SPEAKER_00And I'm like, Thankfully, Mark did not tell me that.
SPEAKER_01Zach is dying. I mean, he's like, Oh god, look at he's like, What do you say to that?
SPEAKER_00I can't you see you look at him and he go, down the road, my friend.
SPEAKER_01You'll be back. Then my dad's like, uh, I got thrushed, so I haven't kissed Gail in 14 days, and she won't let me kiss her. I got it. And Zach's like, cool.
SPEAKER_00So Zach seriously got some information I didn't. Although your dad is very impressed with that tub because I I looked, I go, I'm like, I even pointed it out first. I go, this is in their master bathroom, which matches the other bathroom to the level of the high-end like shower stuff and faucets and all this. I mean, this is like Buckingham Palace of North Ridgeville, right? So, Ohio. So, at any rate, your dad, and I look at the tub and I'm like, whoo! And this thing is a huge tub. I'm like, wow, that's a big tub. And he kind of has that smile and he looks over, he's like, Yeah, that's that's a good tub. He stopped shy, obviously, of telling me what he told you.
SPEAKER_01This is no, not what he told me, what he told Zach. I'm like, I don't want to think about my parents in a bathtub together.
SPEAKER_00This is how incredibly nice your parents' house is uh is. Your dad had, of course, and this is I get this, had to point out the one thing they're still looking to do. He goes, Well, we'd like to change the kitchen countertops. These are full-on $50,000 granite countertops. He goes, But you know, as you can tell, they're kind of from the 90s. It kind of had that remember the darker look. He goes, We'd like to go with something brown. I look at him, I go, you know, when you get there, you'll be just fine. I know. Guys, I haven't even told you about what it is when you walk into the lower level. And I'm like, I'm not sure. I'm surprised they didn't tell you.
SPEAKER_01I'm surprised they didn't tell you, oh, we want to put an elevator in.
SPEAKER_00No, they didn't tell me that, but your mom told me they had the stairs widened for when they go down. Because, oh my god, that's the most beautiful curved staircase I've ever seen, too.
SPEAKER_01They have a very nice house. They're very good at saving. Uh saving. Well, they're very good at accumulating money.
SPEAKER_00Uh you know.
