Now, uh, you had said uh there was something forgotten in your house before you get to that story, and it had to do with a birthday because I I'm assuming because you said uh if you forget a birthday, it can be kind of ugly. And somebody her entire family, Heather's entire family in Buffalo, forgot her birthday this year.
SPEAKER_00Heather, you're gonna relate to this so much then. Listen, yesterday, now I worked a little late. This is very important to the story. I worked a little late and then I like quickly hit the gym. I call my mom at about 5:45, 6 o'clock.
SPEAKER_01And I know where this is going.
SPEAKER_00And I said, I said, hey, what you doing? I said, I'm sorry I'm calling so late. So I was setting it up. I'm sorry I'm calling so late. Hey, you know, we I just got off from a week of not being at work and playing catch up and blah, blah, blah. But I just want to call ya and um, you know, I I think I said wish you a happy birthday. I think that's what I said. And she goes, Well, I'm at Nana's house right now. And I said, Oh, no, no, no, no. I actually didn't wish her a happy birthday at that point. I said, What are you doing? And she goes, I'm at Nana's house right now. Okay. And I said, Are you there for your birthday? And she said, Well, yeah, kind of. And and then proceeds to say, you know, your dad hasn't said anything to me today about that.
SPEAKER_01Oh no.
SPEAKER_00And I'm like, Oh, well, if you know anything about me and my dad's relationship, we're very close. We watch out for each other. So I was like, Oh, okay, well, uh, I just wanted to sing you the birthday song. Oh, yay! So I did the this is your birthday song. It isn't very long. She laughed, she loved it. My nana laughed, she loved it. So we wrap up. Bring, bring, bring. Dad.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00Um, you forgot mom's birthday.
SPEAKER_01He goes, Oh my god. Oh, you legitimately reminded him like he wasn't doing something. Like your dad, I could see maybe stringing it out for a while and then like having ordered in a nice meal or something for.
SPEAKER_00And he says, I I well, I said, I'm just trying to save you. I'm trying to help you. He goes, Thank you so much. Oh, so I said, You need to go to the store right now. You need to go get her flowers. I can't. I don't have my car. Your mom dropped it off. We dropped it off to the dealer to get some work done. So I got nothing. I I said, Okay, you got an Instacart her some flowers right now and a card. And he goes, I don't know what you're talking about. So I said, Do you want me to instacart you flowers? He goes, What is it? My dad doesn't know what Instacart is. It doesn't matter. Anyway, I said, Do you want me to? I said, it's basically sending you flowers from a grocery store to the house with a card and everything. Oh my God, yes, you're you're saving the day. You're saving the day. Well, I get home, my neighbor stops me. We're talking, and my dad's calling me. Did you get the flowers? What's going on? You need to save me. Your mom's coming home very soon. I'm like, oh my gosh, Diane, sorry, I can't talk to you anymore. Oh my God, you got distracted before you ordered them? Yes.
SPEAKER_01So I'm I'm now feverishly called. And then you get distracted yourself.
SPEAKER_00I'm feverishly ordering flowers now from Instacart. And then and of course they didn't have the bouquet I wanted. So then the the the Instacart person.
SPEAKER_01Well, yeah, because now it's five in the afternoon, and you know, all the flowers. If you had called early, yeah, they'd had them.
SPEAKER_00Oh, for sure. No, the now it's like six, it's six twenty, I think, is the time. Oh my god. Yes. And and and now I'm like, uh the woman's like, well, we don't have that bouquet. Can I switch it out for this? They don't have your card. Can I switch it out for this? I'm like, oh my God, just get the flowers. Just get something to my dad. And she even asked me, What's the occasion? And I said, It's my mom's birthday. Anyway, so the flowers arrive and they're beautiful. And the card and everything. And I call my dad. I said, they're on their way, they'll be there by seven o'clock. So my my um mom sends this beautiful text to our family, because of course we have a family text, and it's uh these these beautiful roses, and she said, Dad says, because my mom likes to celebrate birthday week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And she says, Dad. I wonder where you get it from.
SPEAKER_00Dad says there's no such thing as birthday week, but I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I love him. And of course I responded, Aww, how do you? Oh, well done.
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep. You don't wanna you don't wanna blow up that spot.
SPEAKER_00My dad messages me two minutes later. Alicia, your mom's birthday's tomorrow. Oh my god.
