One thousand one hundred and sixty-six dollars could be yours on Friday if you win the birthday wheel.

SPEAKER_00

Dang! Oh my gosh. Dang. All you gotta do is be here at seven thirty for that birthday wheel. And when we spend your day, your month, and your year, you have yeah, you have to call us back within ten minutes and six seconds to claim all of that money, which has not been one since we started the whole dang thing.

SPEAKER_01

No, but it's gotten to a point now. People are going, this this is gonna be like year changing for me. So and thank you to Hasselsons for sponsoring that. Are you excited for the Netflix show Monsters coming?

SPEAKER_00

Which is the it was the um Dahmer one, and before that it was the Geen one. What's the new one?

SPEAKER_01

They just dropped it for Lizzie Borden here. Lizzie Borden token axe gave her mother 40 wax. Yes, you're in.

SPEAKER_00

I'm totally what she had done.

SPEAKER_01

I gave her father 41.

SPEAKER_00

Oh when you hear the blood splattering. You're in? Yeah. First of all, the Dahmer one was great. The Geen one was fantastic. I expect nothing but the best from Ryan Murphy. Yeah. So absolutely. I and I haven't I haven't really been watching things that have been that great lately. Everything we've tried just isn't really.

SPEAKER_01

Surf to the end of the internet when it comes to murder mysteries and document series.

SPEAKER_00

Yesterday we started watching the Robbie Hoffman comedy special, fell asleep five minutes in. Yeah. I asked Zach, what'd you think? And he goes, honestly, it just wasn't doing it for me. There was only like one funny joke. We started watching something else the other day, and it was just was falling flat. I don't know what's going on. And it had the girl from Queen's Gamba in it.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe it's just summertime and you're kind of mentally not engaging the way you would, let's say, late October.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I needed to do is just do what I said I was going to do, get into Yellowstone. I was gonna wait till winter time, but you're right. I know that it's a show that is so well loved that I think that I should quit just pussyfooting around with everything else. Did you ever get into Landman season two? Oh, I'm I've been done with that.

SPEAKER_01

You know season three will happen, but it's being delayed. Did you hear that?

SPEAKER_00

No, I thought it was coming out November 16th.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's being delayed a bit.

SPEAKER_00

I had that tattooed in my brain.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's it's been delayed, but it's happening, but production and all that had to get delayed, just scheduling stuff. Oh. So it will happen, but it'll be a little bit of a break.

SPEAKER_00

Probably because Billy Bob Thornton, he tours with his rockabilly band in the summer.

SPEAKER_01

That could be part of it.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, yeah, but I'm sure that's that is what it is. Okay, on our text line, this came in. My mom has been listening to you since I was in kindergarten, and I want her to hear this. So let me tell you what's going on. I'm going to UB this year, and she says she's gonna give me money for food and gas, but I have to prove it with receipts. Come on, isn't she going too far?

SPEAKER_01

Oh that's good.

SPEAKER_00

I I would want receipts too, because Scott and I have a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

But what so she's worried? Uh mom's obviously worried that she's gonna give her money, and it's either gonna be booze, booze, or a lot of a lot of TJ vapes, a lot of TJ Max runs, uh-huh, you know, things like that that are not now. Listen, don't get me wrong. You know, you're working hard, you're studying hard, maybe you need to go to the max, but it's meant to be for certain things. I would say not every receipt, but at least enough to show the majority of the money's being used for what we had agreed it would be used for, which is food, food, uh, gas, you know, things like that. I I can kind of understand that because man, one, college is expensive. Two, they're they're paying for her to be up there as far as staying or or however that's working. Maybe, maybe she got some sort of a scholarship, but either way.

SPEAKER_00

And I don't want her to piss it off on booze. Yeah, it is not cheap. Right. Oh, I don't hate this.

SPEAKER_01

I don't hate this at least for a while. You know what you're doing? You are insuring my trust, and then I might ease back a little bit and be like, all right, I know I can count on you now.

SPEAKER_00

My comparison, I've always said that if I won the lottery, ironically, the lottery is like huge right now. A billion dollars. Ironically, I have said that if I was to donate to like a charity or something, then I want to know that my money's going to exactly this. Or like if I won the lottery and I was giving Scott something, I want to know it's gonna go exactly this, I would do that same.

SPEAKER_01

If you're paying off my house, you're gonna write that check.

SPEAKER_00

Right. I would do the same if I was if I had a kid because I know.

SPEAKER_01

Do you like how I just put in what I if you win tonight, what I want done?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's all that's it. But I I even have the same thing. My parents have given me money, of course they have. Yeah. And when I when they give me money, I refuse to spend it on something that they would not be okay with.

SPEAKER_01

But not everybody's built like that.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. Which is why I think this is a good thing.

SPEAKER_01

And it's easy to get a little wild in college, you know, especially when you're first out the door. It's uh real easy to get a little bit wild.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And that's why I think that this young woman is she needs to still have a little bit of boundaries because I think that her mom's probably has has seen her spending habits already. If she was a great saver as a young lady, then I don't think her mom would be putting the rule there. But her mom has probably seen what she spent it on before.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, or it just could be, I know that I'm taking my hard-earned money and I don't want it blown on stupid stuff. Right. I don't hate this. I don't know that I would have to provide that, in my opinion, I don't think she should have to provide a receipt for every single solitary gas fill-up. But if she's going up to Wegmans in Buffalo and, you know, stocking the dorm room with food, get a general receipt that, you know, hey, mom, just so you know, and then the money will continue to flow. Unless you're you think this is too controlling, guys. You guys tell us.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, unless you have a better solution for this. But yeah, get on our.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, the only other thing I could think of is a credit card that mom can also see. In other words, well, maybe not a credit card, like a prepaid credit card, but then mom could log into. But it's the same thing. It's either you're providing receipts paper or you're providing the ability for them to go in and see. Is it too controlling? Or no. This is you know, it's my hard earned money till you start making your hard earned money.

SPEAKER_00

Right, right, right. So go get a job at the the the college bookstore or whatever. What did your parents do with you, or what are you doing with your kid? And is this the solution? Is this too far? I don't think it's too far.

SPEAKER_01

I don't either. At least not to start.
