All right, up until this text that just came in. So Betty is on her way to Rochester right now, for what? I have no clue. Oh, I missed that this morning. That that was an earlier text. And uh with the amount of text she sent following that, some of them very disjointed to the conversation and true Betty style, I was ready to get on the radio.
SPEAKER_01Are you driving and texting?
SPEAKER_00Shame on you. I'm sure she's a passenger, but based on how many were coming in that were kind of all over the road, much like if she was texting and driving, I was ready to announce on the radio can someone in the car please take Betty's phone from her? I've had enough. However, I have to give her this one. How about a reminder for the Corning Hallmark uh movie uh um voting?
SPEAKER_01Okay, this is if you missed this yesterday, first of all, you can catch anything on demand. Get on our app, Wink106, Twin Tears Magic, My Radio Jams. You're gonna get on the app and listen to yesterday's segments if you missed them. But this is a thing that Hallmark's doing to be the new Christmas town. And we could have our city, Corning, be the location for filming. You can vote every single day. We have the link up. I'm actually gonna share a new link because there's always new videos and stuff coming out. So let me share another one on our page right now, and you can vote, and this is a nice little reminder for you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because literally, along with this, they will film in Corning if we win. So this is on you guys to take it away from that stupid little town in Rhode Island that always wins.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes. And also, uh, there was one other thing about that I wanted to tell you. Oh, but thank you to this person. Allie, they have pumpkin cinnamon rolls at Panera. Oh thank you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Panera's got quite the pumpkin menu this year, just in case you're ready for it. Now, I had also said uh we were talking about the birthday wheel, and we had two different texts come in, both people saying, I missed the wheel, was there a winner? And of course, I was totally lying, saying yes, there was. It was a joke. I mean, uh, there was no winner today. But I do want to thank uh Jess for texting and said, I would totally believe all of Scott's lies. Don't. It's the way you sell them. And and perhaps I could uh weave a story for you really quick if that's okay. Oh, sure. I want to take you to a small town in South America, and uh it's a very small town, right? You know, I mean I want you to think what you see on National Geographic, you know, a lot of natives.
SPEAKER_02Okay, and they're so no traffic lights. This is all like maybe one. Okay.
SPEAKER_00You know, it's a small place, you know, and uh a lot of a lot of salt of the earth people, hardworking folk, and uh, you know, it turns out that the local church had an ad out they needed a uh person to come ring the bells at the church.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Oh, what a fun job.
SPEAKER_00Right? So this this gentleman shows up and and he goes up to the priest and he says, uh father, uh, I'm here for the job of the bell ringer. And of course the priest looks at him, you know, this small town in South America, and he goes, Well, um, you have no arms. And um, but the guy goes, No, that that that's not a problem. He goes, Let me show you. So he takes the the gentleman up to the to the top of the steeple, and the priest is like, Okay, well, how are you gonna do this? Well, he's all the way in the back, you know, like against the wall of the steeple, you know, and there's the bell in front of him, takes this running leap with his head, you know, the bell rings. Priest is amazed. So the guy's like, and you can you can do this because you know, on Sundays we have to ring these bells a lot. A lot. And the guy goes, I'll show you, I'll do it again. Takes the running leap. And uh and the priest is like, I'm really impressed by this. And the guy goes, I'll show you one more time to prove it. This is the time that it went wrong, and the guy missed the bell, and he actually fell from the top of the steeple to his death.
SPEAKER_02Oh no.
SPEAKER_00So uh down goes the priest. Pray for him. Yes, down goes the priest to the bottom of the church, and now there's a crowd gathering, and and they're all looking, and everyone looks, and and the uh uh the priest is standing there kind of giving the last rites and and and folks go, Do you do you know who this was? And the priest is like, No, but his his face rings a bell. Um now the next day, the next day I have to retell this later. The next day, it's pretty amazing because you know, the town was pretty tore up by this. You know, it's a small South America town, one traffic light, some Bureros, you know, people walking around salt of the earth, right? So the next day, you know, here's the priest doing a little gardening, and this gentleman walks up to him and says, you know, hey, uh, I understand that uh you still have a need for a bell ringer. And the priest stands up and turns around and sees a guy again, no arms. He goes, This is really ironic. He goes, Yesterday I had a gentleman here apply for the job, thought he was gonna have it, and he unfortunately fell to his death. And this other gentleman goes, Yes, that was my brother. And um uh and I I thought to myself, I should really step into his shoes, and he wanted this job so bad. Okay, I thought, okay, I I'll step in and I'll pick up where he unfortunately didn't make it. So the priest goes, I'm gonna have to test you.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Up they go to the top of the steeple.
SPEAKER_01Oh no.
SPEAKER_00First, you know, first run in, right? You know, hits his face against the bell, does it again. I'll be damned if the third time the guy also doesn't go over the steeple and crashes to his death.
SPEAKER_01Oh no.
SPEAKER_00Here comes the priest back down from the top of the steeple, crowds gathering again, and they see another dead guy in front of the church. Should have learned his lesson. They look at him and they're like, uh, hey, listen, uh, this is kind of weird. Twice in two days. And did you know this guy? And they and the priest goes, No, but he's a dead ringer for his brother. You're welcome. Thank you. Or not.
