I did just share that Corning Gaffer District Merriest Christmas thing with Hallmark. Not the Merriest Christmas.
SPEAKER_01Well d we named it yesterday what the name of the movie would be, and now for the life of me I can't remember what it was.
SPEAKER_00Miracle on Market Street.
SPEAKER_01That's what it was.
SPEAKER_00Uh it's oh yeah, Merriest Christmas Town. I was actually really close. So they're looking for the Merriest Christmas Town. And I said, Well, I'm gonna put up a new link, share a new video today, just as a reminder, so it shows back up in your feed. But I did post it, so now you can go vote for Corning to be Hallmark's merriest Christmas time.
SPEAKER_01And this is where they'll film and everything here. I mean, it would be pretty awesome. You know, I was driving Market Street last night because I had dinner with friends out there, and I couldn't help but think to myself, I'm like, yeah, this is the setting. This is the spot. This should absolutely get it. It is. And and now, this is now I have to, I think they already know, but I'm gonna have to say this. This is the year, Gaffer District. You guys are really gonna have to overly deck it out. Make sure every one of those lights when it's time. I don't want to talk about Christmas yet, except for the voting, but you're gonna have to really deck it out because if it comes down to, let's say it comes down to three cities, and Corning's in the top three, along with that stupid Rhode Island town that always wins. Okay, here's the thing. You know Hallmark Channel's gonna go to each of those locations and be like, well, that's good.
SPEAKER_00I think we're great, we're great for filming too, because you can get cameras up on the top of the buildings and down. I also think with centerway being so open. We have a glass house. We have a glass house with centerway being so open. Yeah. And then having the park, so the there is like that bridge. I don't remember what the bridge is called, but where it's where you're in that centerway and then you bridge over to YMCA. Yeah, yeah. Like that is also just the location of all the small details are perfect. I'm with you. But I put the new link up, follow Scott and Allie on social on that. Also follow us for the video I posted this morning about does Scott have girl grip? Whenever we leave the house, we have 98 things in our hand. Yeah. I have everything from my lip gloss, a water bottle, my keys, uh, maybe a little mascara, because later I'm gonna be at Centertown Social with you, so I gotta throw some mascara on. So, how much can Scott get in one hand? Does he have girl grip? You have to see the video. It's on our TikTok, Scott Nally Show, on our Instagram reels, and on our Facebook too. What is this college hack you have? So my friend Mary actually posted this, and I thought this was really genius. So she just dropped off her son to college. And there's things that I think that my mom just didn't know to do. What?
SPEAKER_01But there's things every parent may not know to do. Exactly. It's just a we're gonna help you with something critical?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Okay. The number one thing that she wrote, which I love this, because your kid's probably going to like Penn State, uh, UFOs.
SPEAKER_01Alfred is a big one. UB. All over, yeah. The first one was Kutzman or whatever we heard earlier.
SPEAKER_00Cootstown, cut it's a good one. Have your kid download the Uber app and put in your credit card information. We always want them to have the option to get a ride. You cannot put a price on that.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so this is great. This is absolutely brilliant advice coming from a smaller area that does not do well with Uber and ride shares. No offense, Snoopy D.
SPEAKER_00Oh, but I did drive behind her the other day.
SPEAKER_01We always know it's her. Yeah, she's got that giant Jeep pickup. Uh-huh. Okay, so her license plate says Snoopy D. That too. So here's the thing. I just recently saw this firsthand. So I don't have an Uber app, I don't have a ride share app. And around the twin tiers, now maybe a little bit better in Ithaca, but around down here on my recording, we ain't great. Right. Um, and that's okay. I mean, I I We'll get better. We'll get better. We were in Cleveland a couple weeks ago, and it is there's not one taxi. There is no taxis in Cleveland, and the ride shares are efficient, they're quick, and it, you know, it it is a constant turn. What was the longest wait we had? Six minutes one time?
SPEAKER_00I think originally our wait time was nine, and then he showed up in six.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So this is also what you may not realize is although we're from this area, if your kids are going to college in a bigger area or an area that that has this, extremely useful.
SPEAKER_00Yes, please do. The second tip that she gave was send them with an insurance card or at least a copy, and that they know exactly and why would she be. You mean like their health insurance? Health insurance number one, because if they get hurt or they get sick, I remember we had our college nurse, but if it's something that's a little bit more elevated than you just having the brown bottle flu or whatever it goes on, I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_01But oh no, there's a good chance that'll happen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but that they they you can put it in their wallet and say, please, you have this now. You now have it. Yes. Okay. Number three, download it and set up MD Live. I don't know, I don't know what that is. But she said, in case they can't leave their dorm room for whatever reason. I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_01I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_00Uh number four, add their college address to your Amazon account.
SPEAKER_01It says online care anytime, anywhere, virtual care, no waiting room. Oh, it must be a medical thing. Okay. Oh, if they're really sick. Not from the brown bottle fluke.
SPEAKER_00Right, right.
SPEAKER_01All right. I never heard oh, MD. Duh. Yeah, what MD medical doctor.
SPEAKER_00I wasn't sure though. I never had heard of it.
SPEAKER_01I never heard of it either. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_00But then also add their adding your college address to their Amazon account. My parents never sent me anything when I was in college.
SPEAKER_01Well, that but Amazon hadn't really launched to that level. Now it's every day everywhere.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So if there's something that they really need. And plus, it was always nice when I would see other families send care packages to their kids.
SPEAKER_01And I'm like, Brings a tear to the eye when your parents don't send you crap because they're like, oh, wow, they they hate me.
SPEAKER_00Mark, do you know that I still exist? Nope, not at all.
SPEAKER_01That's a all of those excellent advice because we do have a lot of first time college uh folks heading out.
SPEAKER_00I thought so too. So even if you're the one going or you're the parent, there's four things you're locked and loaded.
