That's it. That's it. It's fall. Pour me a pumpkin spice latte. Throw me in Afghan. Put a log on the fire. Not you. Uh get put the pumpkins out. Buy moms. It's fall. It's over. Summer's done.
SPEAKER_00That that's this is the least you thing I've ever heard.
SPEAKER_01Uh, this is ridiculous. We're only going to 69 today. It was Oh, really? Very cold. It's we're not even getting to 80 till Friday, Thursday or Friday.
SPEAKER_00That's the time to do it though.
SPEAKER_01Well, by the weekend, yeah. Yeah. But it definitely, I didn't smell it. Allie and I've talked about the smells of the seasons for years. Literally, we've gotten into the point where like, can you smell it?
SPEAKER_00I got a smell of something the other day. It wasn't full on fall, but I mentioned this last week on the show. I did get a little smell of something. I'm like, it's looming.
SPEAKER_01I didn't have it yet, but you know, book me a hay ride, put me in a corn maze, and let's get this thing over with. And you know what? I'm gonna make a prediction. Huh? I'm gonna grab a hold of my weather vein real quick, and I'm gonna make a prediction. Uh it is gonna be snowing on Halloween this year. Oh, I'll write this down.
SPEAKER_00I'm writing it down.
SPEAKER_01Remember years ago we uh we started the thing I said the Bills would not be in a Super Bowl until they were in the new high mark stadium?
SPEAKER_00The note is right here. You said that on April 4th, 2024.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so here we go. It is uh what uh August 24th, 2026, and I'm predicting there will be snow of some kind on Halloween this year. If we're already transitioning like this, and I don't even know that it's transitioning, but it's just not been. We had one heat dome this year. You remember that? Yeah. Where's the dog days of summer? We're supposed to be in that right now where we're like sweltering.
SPEAKER_00Well, maybe when it's Labor Day weekend.
SPEAKER_01Uh probably it'll be when the kids go back to school in New York that we'll get three weeks of just unbelievable oppressiveness. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00All right, I'm just typing this in. Scott predicts snow for Halloween this year.
SPEAKER_01Yep, that's right. And we're gonna get bombed on for Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_00It was nice though. The sleeping weather last night was real nice. I'm like, mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Except for the thunderstorms where uh I literally had uh the pugs freak out and then have to cuddle so close to me, I thought they were actually entering my body.
SPEAKER_00Um, I don't normally wake up for any kind of rain or anything like that, but I randomly woke up at 2 30. So I don't know if that's when it was coming through.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00But I when I woke up, I noticed it rained, it where it was raining. Yeah. And then it took me like a half hour to get back to sleep.
SPEAKER_01I had a hell of a time actually falling asleep yesterday. I don't know. We went to Rochester yesterday, did a Costco run, and you know, uh just jumped around a little bit. Sunday Scaries? No, I I don't know. I just was laying there and I'm like, okay. I mean, I had the TV off and everything. I don't know what it was, and then I guess finally I went to sleep and then there was a thunderstorm.
SPEAKER_00I actually had a little bit of a hard time falling asleep, but that's because the night before I got actually this whole weekend, I got so much sleep. Although it's impressive. Well, yeah, so Friday we were out at Centertown Social.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that was great.
SPEAKER_00That was such a fun time. So next time we do it, you guys have to come and hang out because we did have an office that we gave them the whole deal, like their drinks and their apps and all of that, and hung out for a couple hours. All those people who've already signed up, like if your office signed up this this last run, you're still in. We still have it up on our our our website and our um app. So you can just sign up your office so you can get the same treatment, and we're gonna do it again in September.
SPEAKER_01I would recommend teachers. And the reason I say teachers should sign up is especially in New York, you'll be three weeks into, well, about two and a half weeks in to the new school year, and you probably could already use a night out. Well, at least a couple hours.
SPEAKER_00For sure. Yeah. Everyone signed up for that. So we did that on Friday, and then uh one of our coworkers, she got a VIP lounge at Lux, and she invited me. I don't know if she did she invite you? Did Cindy invite you?
SPEAKER_01Well, uh no, I didn't.
SPEAKER_00Was that also Friday night? That was Friday night.
SPEAKER_01So she invited She had mentioned that location that they had just redone their location, but so she was like, Oh, do you want to after you know, hang out here?
SPEAKER_00Do you want to jump over to Lux and come to the VIP room? And at first I said yes, but by the time we were done on Friday, I was like, no.
SPEAKER_01I was done. Yes.
SPEAKER_00I went to bed. I as soon as I got home, I went to bed and got like nine hours of sleep.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, it was wonderful. How was the bocce Italian fest?
SPEAKER_01Italian fest with the community charcuterie board and all this.
SPEAKER_00It was it was fun. It was fun. So Zach went up to Zach and I went to Sodas Bay on Saturday morning. We left it like probably 10-ish or something. And it's literally just almost like their little neighborhood. It's their little little bay, their little area. Yeah. So it's not like it's not like our Italian fest in Watkins Glenn. There's no games or anything like that. It's literally, I would say 20 families that do a bocce tournament. And it was oh, and there was a little lemoncello taste off.
SPEAKER_01Oh, a taste off?
SPEAKER_00Yes, and every everyone makes homemade homemade meatballs, homemade regu.
SPEAKER_01This sounds like it's a a line of crock pots, you know, a quarter mile long.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it was the the food was amazing. But the weird thing is everyone was like 60 plus. We were the youngest ones by a lot, which totally fine.
SPEAKER_01How did this connect with Zach?
SPEAKER_00How did this happen? So Zach has a friend named Earl.
SPEAKER_01Also 60.
SPEAKER_00Uh no, he's actually, well, he's 53. He's Zach's A.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say, you got you got an Earl in his 50s?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so Earl used to live here. They met at like when they worked at De Metz. Did you know Zach worked at DeMets a long time ago? Yeah, yeah. So they met when they worked at DeMets, where I don't even know where else. I think they also like rekindled at upstate. But anyway, so uh Earl is Zach's friend. He found a lady and moved up there, and it's basically her neighborhood that she lives in. Oh. And they with good food. Yeah, with good food. Zach was his best man in their wedding. Oh, wow. So really, really close friends. Yeah. And he it's kind of like, hey, I want you to meet my girlfriend, blah, blah, blah. So we went up there and hung out and just spent the night. But like by yesterday morning, we were on the road by 9:30 in the morning. Oh, wow. Yeah. I was like, okay, we're good.
SPEAKER_01And you didn't have anything else crazy going on yesterday, huh?
SPEAKER_00No, no. Oh, but I will tell you a movie that I watched in a minute that sucked. Oh, that I'm gonna tell you not to watch in a second. But maybe not the new Spider-Man? Uh no, not that one. But as far as the Italian fest, bocce is gonna be my new favorite thing, though. Really? Yes, I really loved it. And Zach did not want to do well because he's like, if we do well, because it's like NCAA where it's the brackets and everything. If we do really well, we're gonna be playing bocce all day. I'm like, I want to play bocce. No, maybe not all day. I think Zach was like intentionally sucking just so he could get knocked out. He's like, I just want to eat meatballs, okay?
SPEAKER_01Okay, but yeah, eat bocce ball meatballs, yes.
