I won back my man card yesterday. Two things actually happened when I was doing laundry yesterday. Oops, there goes the man card. Uh but uh two things happened.
SPEAKER_02Doing your laundry is losing a man card? But uh Zach does our laundry all the time.
SPEAKER_01Won it back yesterday. So do you remember uh for those that may not remember, when Allie and I were in Cleveland, was it two weeks ago?
SPEAKER_02Um it was actually almost a month ago because that's when I dropped off junior, and I'm getting him back on Saturday.
SPEAKER_01So almost a month ago when Allie and I were in Cleveland uh for uh a conference, uh-huh, um I was sitting, you'll remember we were sitting next to each other, my phone goes off, Tiffany goes, our washing, our our dryer, we have two washers, two dryers. And in the house at that time, one washer was working, one wasn't, one dryer was working, one wasn't. Well, the second dryer went. Okay. And I go, okay, fine, that's it. We we've been looking, we've been eyeballing new washer and dryer for the longest time. We've been eyeballing these ones that have the pet fur collectors. So, because you go figure you might, you know, if you're in my house, you might get a little fur on you. Yes.
SPEAKER_02And uh so and pee, if if MP's on your leg.
SPEAKER_01That's right. He he he you're his forever now, though. That's the good news. Um, but the the the the thing about it was I'm in the conference literally texting my Lois card, like, here, just buy it. Uh-huh. You're gonna have to handle this because I'm I'm here, you're there. Right. And everything came it. This was on Friday at the conference, and literally Saturday they came and brought it, and it's been great.
SPEAKER_02I can't believe that.
SPEAKER_01A month into it, uh, there's a little something y'all need to know about the Maytag washers. Uh, and uh uh they have a uh collector, like a water filter thing uh down at the pump, which is sealed behind the main door. And uh I was watching some videos and they have a tendency to clog, right? Okay. So I'm in the situation where the dreaded F9E1 or whatever warning comes up, contact maintenance. I'm like, Already? This sound bitch is a month old. No, yeah. So I uh did some research on YouTube four screws later, you can pull the uh and this they make it sound all the YouTube videos do this. You go through 20 where you have to disassemble the entire washer. Then you find the one guy who has scorching ADHD and a great southern accent, and he's like, uh, you know, and in the video, he finally showed it how to do it. Took me five. What you gonna do right here? That's right. Five minutes. I pulled out what was the size of a sock of lint that had already collected in this. So just a heads up. I fixed it yesterday in five minutes, one back to Mancur. Then I open the washer and I find a dollar bill sitting in there. I'm like, score twice! I got a tip. So that takes me to this. Every once in a while, you find a random little bit of money somewhere.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. I love when that actually I have a dollar in my gym bag that I keep on holding. I don't know what for.
SPEAKER_01Die Coke. I know what it's for. I you'll pass a machine one day, which is probably a dollar seventy-five now. But either way, uh, and so I at any rate, it's not often, but sometimes you'll walk across, oh, there's uh a random ten doll sitting on the ground. Love when that happens. Did you know in Georgia you can get in wicked, wicked trouble for this? Uh, there's actually a uh a law in the books in Georgia.
SPEAKER_02You know what I say? Finders, keepers, losers, weepers.
SPEAKER_01Well, a Georgia man who picked up $30 from a Walmart floor recently returned the cash after police asked for help in identifying him. A Georgia law makes it a crime for knowingly keeping such property without first taking reasonable steps to return it to its owner.
SPEAKER_02Oh, stop it.
SPEAKER_01How do you find that?
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, exactly. I mean, somebody randomly drops $30 in Walmart. That could have been from 20 minutes ago? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01An hour ago. And the cameras at Walmart never work because the one time that I had a shopping cart ram into my car and scratched it all the way up the side, uh, the cameras don't pick up that in the parking lot.
SPEAKER_02Oh, really? And then now all of a sudden it works on the day that the guy picks up 30 bucks.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Magically the cops show up, they're like, ah, okay.
SPEAKER_02Were they really trying to get the guy? Because that seems so that's such a quick move. If I see 30 bucks, I'm like, oh, scoop it up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. On your way. Yeah. No, this is this is a real thing.
SPEAKER_02And they come to my house.
SPEAKER_01Do you have 30 bucks that you got from Walmart? What? What are you talking about? You know? Could have been anywhere. But this is this is legitimately a law in Georgia. And it's tough because you're right. The age-old question of all right, let me back this up. If it's a ridiculously large sum of money, let's say, let's say there was a cash bag sitting on the side of whatever store.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Or wherever. And and uh, you know, you open it up and you're like, oh, three thousand dollars. That's tougher for me to hold on to because I'm like clearly either somebody stole it, threw it out of a car window, it landed somewhere, or someone dropped it. Uh large, large sums like that, I'm gonna question myself.
SPEAKER_02You hope that good karma comes back to you on that three thousand that you found by the one of those big red balls at Target. Right. And when you take it in and the person who lost their all their cash, you hope the good karma comes back and then you're gonna get a thousand dollars out of it or something like that, right?
SPEAKER_01Oh well, even just anything. Even if it was three grand, sure, sh throw me a hundred bucks, you know. But oh, a hundred? That's it. Come on. What if it was please give me ten percent? You just gave me a great one with the target one. What if it was a family going back to school shopping and they didn't know they dropped it the money, and then they're all of a sudden at the checkout and they're like fumbling around, and I come walking in. Did anybody lose a uh a thing of money? And you know, and you might you might get them to go legitimately, oh yes, that was us, thank God.
SPEAKER_02I'm not gonna come in and announce it so uh loudly like that. Then you're going to jail in Georgia. Well, no, I would take it to Lost and Found. But my that's only if that's only if it's something to that extent. Or if somebody drops a wallet, because there's an ID in there. That's easy. That's an easy connection. But 30 bucks on the floor, I'm taking it.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so what's your limit as far as picking it up and walking off with it?
SPEAKER_02I think 200. Because if there's a hundred dollar bill, then it's easy for me to snatch and pocket it. 200 200 bucks?
SPEAKER_01There's two of those hondos sitting there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that that makes me double question myself.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead with what you were thinking.
SPEAKER_00Well, I know it sounds a little drastic, but I kind of see why it should be a crime. Because yeah, at the end of the day, it's still somebody else's property. Like, I know 30 bucks doesn't sound like a huge amount, but you don't know what that 30 bucks means to the person who lost it. You know, maybe that's what they had left till payday. Maybe they needed it for gas. I mean, you just don't know. And if you find cash on the floor, you know somebody dropped it. It's not like you found it buried in the woods and have no idea where it came from.
SPEAKER_02Now that's a good point. Yes, it is, and I understand that, but I also may need that $30 for payday. So I'm looking at it like, thank you, Lord. Thank you for dropping that right here.
