You know what we don't have and we should have? You know, we've got lots of festivals. You know, we've got we just celebrated a harvest festival and corning. In Montur, they have one next weekend on the third. Scott and I will be there.
SPEAKER_01So let me write down on the calendar where you want to put yet another festival of whatever you're about to say. This is gonna be sounds like a great idea, guys.
SPEAKER_00This is gonna be so good. Why don't we have a Mark Twain festival where people dress up like Mark Twain? Can you imagine a little parade of Mark Twain's? How cool would that be? I love my own freaking idea. I know.
SPEAKER_01I love my freaking idea so much. But what what's the hook? Are we just all gonna read uh, you know, uh This is a great idea.
SPEAKER_00I mean, is it I love I love what you're saying already. So we could do it.
SPEAKER_01I don't love what I'm saying, but alright. I do like let's all get together and read Huck Finn.
SPEAKER_00Well, I think that, or you could dress like Mark Twain characters. Not a bad audio. Um what would did did Mark Twain have like a favorite food or something? Anyway, it doesn't matter. I think what it is is just celebrating Mark Twain. Since everyone has such a love affair with Mark Twain here.
SPEAKER_01We do do a glass fest. We celebrate glass. That's exactly inanimate object, but it happened to make a city.
SPEAKER_00Elmira downtown, are you listening? There is something to do. Marshall Ferrari, are you listening?
SPEAKER_01Actually, it can almost be a giant mustache party, whether you could have I mean, I'm still looking for the fun factor in this, other than walking around with a mustache.
SPEAKER_00Seneca Lodge does a mustache party for their opening party. Now that's in April. That's something totally different.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's very different.
SPEAKER_00But I do like what you're saying because we all could be, and it it has to be a warmer month, and the reason why is think about what Mark I'm not not warmer, I'm sorry, cooler month. Think about what Mark Twain wears.
SPEAKER_01With a white suit.
SPEAKER_00Right. You don't want to wear a suit in July. You don't want to have a mustache and be so sweaty. You gotta have you gotta have this in like, you know, an October. Oh, another thing in October.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Let me put that on the calendar. Mark Twain Festival in between every other effing thing going on.
SPEAKER_00What about what about maybe March? Yeah, March might be. March for March.
SPEAKER_01Hold on.
SPEAKER_00Okay, look it up.
SPEAKER_01You know, I don't know this.
SPEAKER_00Hold on a second. I I don't know it either. But dun dun dun Oh, we could even do that. Trolley, they have a Mark Twain trolley, don't you?
SPEAKER_01November 30th.
SPEAKER_00That's a good day. That is a really good day. Hold on a second.
SPEAKER_01Um we're all fat and sassy after having uh Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I got something else. Apparently he preferred writing while in bed. We could do the the uh the bed races that we've talked about for 20 years.
SPEAKER_01Okay, now you're starting to add a hook that's got me interested. Because no offense, it a parade of people dressed as Mark Twain, so we can sit down and quietly read books. No, but that's dull.
SPEAKER_00We don't have to quietly read, but he also has a cat lover. So we could have like cat stuff, we could have the bed races, we could have the Mark Twain look-alike contest. I just think that we are not monopolizing on what we have here, which is Mark Twain. Oh, wait, and um, let's see. His famous pen name comes from a nautical term used by a Mississipp Mississippi Riverboat. So we could be like a riverboat over on the Shmong River? Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I don't think it'll float.
SPEAKER_00Did you know he was a steamboat pilot?
SPEAKER_01I did not. Did you know what his real name was?
SPEAKER_00Sam Clemens.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00Yes. I did that I did know. Because I went to something at this was a while back. I was at the Clemens Center, and they had like a Mark Twain specialist. That's not that's not his title. Homie isn't even from here, but that's here nor there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but this was more of a this was a beloved area for him. Well, he's here now forever.
SPEAKER_00Of course, because this is the best area.
SPEAKER_01Did you hear what I said?
SPEAKER_00He's now here forever.
SPEAKER_01Because he's in the ground up the road.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I've been there. Just went there about a year or two ago for the first time. Anyway, that's my idea. Take it or leave it.
SPEAKER_01I like the mustaches, I like the bed races.
SPEAKER_00The cat stuff. Come on.
SPEAKER_01Dress up, sure. We could do it on camera. There's enough kook balls in this area that'll we could easily get cat people out.
SPEAKER_00Oh, totally. Just weird mustache people.
SPEAKER_01No, that's true.
