U.S. Government Drops Charges Against Maude Family
By Codi Vallery-Mills Criminal charges have been dropped against ranchers Charles and Heather Maude of South Dakota. During a press conference last week, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins alongside the Maudes in Washington, D.C. made the announcement. Charles and Heather had been federally indicted over a fenceline boundary dispute with the U.S. Forest Service in the spring of 2024 when the agency claimed the Maudes had stolen 25 acres of land from the U.S. Government for their own personal ranching use.
