Harvest Rolls On
Producers report favorable conditions in eastern South Dakota Melisa Goss Cattle Business Weekly Eastern South Dakota farmers are experiencing one of their better harvest seasons in recent years, with both corn and soybean yields exceeding 2024 numbers despite periodic weather interruptions and an uptick in combine fires across the region. Pat Harrington grows corn and soybeans near Armour in Douglas County. He reports his soybeans averaged 10 to 15 bushels better than last year, while corn yields are running 25 to 30 bushels above 2023 levels.
