When looking at the story of Jesus' birth, we often times only think of the good and miss When we look at the story of Jesus' birth, we often only think of the good and we miss seeing how dark, broken, and scary it truly was for Mary and Joseph. Imagine the unknown and the uncertainty. Imagine how it could weigh them down and bind them in fear and worry.
However, in Luke 1:46-55 we see Mary's incredible response while being in the dark. She chooses to lift a song of praise and magnify the Lord in the midst of the uncertainty and waiting.
This poses a question for us: How will we respond? Will we choose to complain and worry, or will we lift up song of praise and worship our God in the middle of the darkness?
