We are all prone to forget things. We forget people's names, we forget where we placed our car keys and phones, we even forget our own personal information at times. It's easy to forget when we don't take time to remember.
In 1 Samuel 7 we read how Samuel calls the house of Israel to repentance for forgetting who God is. They've stopped remembering who God is and what He's done for them, which leads them to be defeated in battle.
When we forget who God is we quickly become vulnerable to the lies of the enemy and turn to other idols for our source of hope. We must always be remembering who God is and who He says we are, because apart from Him, there is no hope.
