How to regulate AI in a rapidly-evolving world

With the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a number of incidents involving AI-generated content raise serious concerns. The use of AI is seen to be prone to abuse which can cause harm. Among the several concerns, AI has become a tool for spreading false information which can potentially tarnish reputation. Given that the use of AI is posed to continually evolve, the need for it to be regulated becomes imminent.

In this episode, we were joined by Helena Siebenrock, a trainee solicitor in the Tech, Media, and Intellectual Property team at CMS UK, to discuss the necessity and challenges in regulating AI. This episode also tackles the latest developments in regulating AI within the European Union and the “principle-based” approach in regulating AI by the United Kingdom.
