In Episode 9 of the SheRecovery Podcast, Crystal chats with Amanda Aanestad.
In this interview, Amanda shares her own story of overcoming a 10+ year addiction to porn and simply confessing to a friend—has now turned into a movement to make recovery resources accessible to girls and women who struggle.
Amanda and a few dear friends began The Victory Collective in order to provide a safe space where Christian girls and women can heal, grow, and find freedom in the grace of Jesus Christ. They collect, review, and share practical resources for Christian girls and women seeking to overcome sexual sin. Amanda battled a pornography addiction for over ten years, and she hopes that her story can shed light on this sin that many people keep hidden in the dark. She wants other girls to know that they are not alone. Amanda also graduated from Virginia Tech in 2018 with degrees in Literature and Creative Writing. After graduation, she taught Literature in Uganda for a year and a half. She now lives in the tiny town of Del Rio, TX with her husband and is currently working to get her Master's degree in nonprofit management.
