Jeff Hoyt sees stories everywhere he looks. They unfurl from the island in the upper left-hand corner of the lower 48 that Jeff calls home. For years, he's told his stories in a radio show segment called "Hoytus Interruptus." The podcast version will drop every Tuesday. Five minutes per episode. After season one, Jeff hopes to turn to his listeners for a chance to "elevate" their own tales.

Have you ever had "one of those days" where nothing goes right and everything takes way longer than it should? I've usually found that the next day is almost always awesome by comparison. There's a strange kind of balance in that.
Of course, the opposite can sometimes be true. Something wonderful could happen one day, only to be wiped from your memory the next day by the worst kind of buzzkill.
This week's story is about that latter scenario.
