In this episode of Historical Perspectives, students explore “The Hidden Dance of Energy” and discover how energy makes things move and change in our everyday world. Through clear, kid-friendly explanations and real-life examples, listeners learn the difference between potential energy (energy waiting to happen) and kinetic energy (energy in motion), and how energy can change from one form to another.

From skateboards on ramps to swinging playgrounds and glowing flashlights, this episode helps students connect science concepts to experiences they already know. Students will also explore how engineers use energy ideas to design safer and more efficient tools, and try a simple hands-on activity to see energy in action.

This engaging episode builds a strong foundation in physical science while helping students “see” the invisible ways energy moves through the world.
